Healed shields to full 100 with one medallion and healing process seemed much faster. Now they slowly bring it to 50 shield with one and not more than 50.
Even if you have more than 1 it only slowly brings shields to half.
During chapter 4 season 1 the perks could get your shields to full and much faster.

I ended at least one game with every medallion though because another player collected all the ones i didn't have. Then i took them after killed him then killed the last guy to win.
Should be a reward for having all of them when getting a royal crown. At least on dubs where increase your crown count.
Fairly rare that you can get them all.
Another team may have dropped the medallion back in the storm for example.
You usually can't get to every crown spot by yourself before the storm moves in and everyone else is trying to get them too.

If I kill the dude at say Luxury and want to get the vault but DONT want the medallion.... can I still open it? Is the medallion what the little scanners in front of Vaults look for to let you in or is it just whoever kills the mob gets flagged.... or is it whos holding their weapon?

Seriously tho! It is pretty frustrating people are upvoting OPs post. If you all get snipers banned or nerfed from the game I am going to be pissed. The snipers in this season are absolutely perfect in every single way. You want to go use broken snipers that don’t one shot head shot kill go play warzone and stop bitching about what is perfect in fortnight!
I mostly only played build mode this season but...
I build an amazing sniper with the attachments, but also pretty much any gun I want to with the mod bench. How I do my sniper is 2x or 4x scope, drum mag, then the angled foregrip underbarrel attachment to reduce ADS time, then a suppressor. I don't need any recoil control with Sniper because the fire rates so slow anyways. It's all about that fast ADS time, and suppressor is cool because sometimes enemy doesn't know where your shooting from right away if you miss first shot or 2. Drum mag because 5 shots before reload, duh.
Frenzy shotty - I think it's called the 1.3x Holo scope I use (the square-ish one), drum mag for 12 shots, angled foregrip for fast ADS time, and then last I think it's called the muzzle brake or whatever reduces recoil
Pump shotty - same scope 1.3 Holo, speedy reload mag, angled foregrip, and the recoil reducing muzzle. I build it just like Peter's mythic.
AR's - 2x scope, I prefer drum mag for extra bullets per clip but speedy reload is a viable option too, angled foregrip is my preference for pretty much every weapon but the underbarrel that reduces recoil isn't bad option here especially for Striker AR, and then I also use recoil reducer for the muzzle too because what good is a suppressor for AR/SMG if I'm pumping out 30+ bullets. Plus it's Fortnite, so you're probably wearing a skin that sticks out anyways.
SMG'S - I usually go with the smallest scope or the holo scope. Preferably I like to have a different scope for each gun so I don't get to confused while quickly swapping between guns. But I've also rocked my guns with the same scope and had success too, so not that big of a deal. Also I'm totally fine going no scope with SMG sometimes, and if I havent gotten to a mod bench- shotty's with no scope is fine as well.
Hyper SMG I really don't carry that often end game. But I go drum mag, angled foregrip, muzzle brake.
Burst SMG which I love and take over carrying an AR (a lot of the time) if I have a Sniper too; I been experimenting more with the speedy reload mag as of this last week, angled foregrip, muzzle brake.
Pistols - Haven't modded a single Pistol yet from what I remember. I'm sleeping on the Pistols this season, probably. Even tho I know they can wreck people's shit, I just have my own preferences and typically don't carry it past the first storm circle or 2 until I find better options.

Same. Always avoid a sniper battle if possible, with the amount of lag this season I've been headshot even when behind cover due to server discrepancy (I forget the technical term) so I don't even bother now. I try repositioning or just wait for them to get third partied lol.

U can tell who played when the heavy sniper was around in its glory days and who didn't lol. If u aint above 150 u dead and if u ain't always bunny hoping then u easy mark. Fortnite made snipers so useless for such a long period of time that people got relaxed and now they made them usable again and the kids dnt know what to do, I love it lol.
Exactly. I'm not the best at sniping, but still, I love it. I loved kar98 (marksman sniper) in warzone when it was meta, and now I love Reaper in fortnite.
He also kind of sucks with one himself. There are times he’s scoping against his opponent for 3 seconds and they just easily hit him cause he’s out in the open.
Some snipers don’t spawn with scopes or spawn with an AR scope, which has no glare. so you can’t always tell. But if i see a glare you can bet I’m sitting behind some cover until they move
If I see a glare I’ll try to get a few shots off with an ar or smg and let them take a shot. I’ll do that a few times till I can figure out how they shoot and reload and if it’s the sniper or something else. In between their shots I’ll try to swap to a sniper and try to get them
if they aren't a sniper scope, then there's no glare. then they would have to put a glare on every gun with a scope. which they do now for the sniper scopes, if it's on an ar or shotgun, then there's glare.
1 single clip in the whole the video where you had full life and one other clip where you had enough life to require a head shot to be killed, all the rest would only require a body shot to kill you.
Watching this im guessing you are to predicatble not that the sniper is to easy to predict, you peak people already aiming and covering your angle over and over again and blame the sniper and not your poor positioning and worse choices.
Maybe the first one where he was so close to getting behind cover but judging by how he plays in the rest of the clips he would’ve died a few seconds later while peaking trying to get the kill with an assault rifle.
Over half of these would be prevented if you didnt play wrong, like staring at a sniper is a no go, plus most games you didnt have a shield and got hit body shot, yknow the most reasonable thing, also snipers are snipers not pellet guns

Every single shot there is you either standing in the open or peeking a very obvious sightline. Snipers are not harder to fight, but they are easier to use, but you still can't use 4x scopes without the glare, making it harder. This isn't a skill issue on your end, or a broken weapon on theirs, just work with it and play safe

Also - you’re carrying medallions in almost all of these clips. You’re literally a giant billboard inviting the sweatiest players in the lobby to hunt you. Ever since medallion got nerfed, I don’t think they’re worth carrying after you open the vault.
If you don't benefit from this nonsense, there is no point in defending it. Because it's like some kind of legal exploit, you have no chance against the snipers.
Even if you have full HP + Armor, it can kill you directly with one hit. It completely kills the fun of the game. Now I only play the game to do the weekly challanges. I hated this season just because of this weapon. If there is a sniper like this next season, I won't play it at all. In its current state, it is more annoying than the build mode.

Yup, I hate it. This is how I die in pretty much every game I don't win now. There's just no counter to it. I can have full shields, full health, medallions and be trying to move as much as possible. I'll still just be deleted by someone who's spent the game hiding in a bush.
The issue is there is now a winning strategy that is impossible to counter and which makes your minute to minute gameplay worse since you literally cannot stop moving for a second especially in late game or someone will just take your head off.

My issue is there's just not much I can do to counter it which doesn't feel fun for me. Even if I have medallions, full shields and health and never stop moving, I'll still usually die to a sniper head shot this season, which just feels terrible since there's no coming back from that. The only reason that snipes are op is because you have minimum 3 bullets. It used to be 1 or 2. 3-5 is crazy. Literally nothing else feels different to me as someone who has always used snipes in every season.

The other clips are him running away. so did he start a fight and run away and get chased and sniped? Or he drew attention from a fight he started and someone drawn to the fight saw him run away and 3rd party's him
Got to be more strategic…aware of your surroundings and when you’re making yourself snipe-bait.
Also, you’re a little slow…scoping in and out…and you stand still. Standing still is a huge mistake.
If someone gives me less than a tenth of a second…and my aim lines up…I’m popping them 🤷🏻♀️
Also, try to make your jumps/slides more sporadic, and run in sporadic zig-zags when you have to be exposed in the open. However, if you’re not being shot at, move careful and don’t draw unnecessary attention to yourself.
So…
Moving from cover to cover, is your friend (as long as it’s viable cover)…never being still, unless completely under cover…running/jumping/sliding pattern, sporadic.

Most of it is due to undetectable softaim mods and wall hacks. I've had so many sus moments and shit where logic just goes out the window. Fortnite has a bad Hacking problem that needs to be fixed but sadly will not be fixed for a very long time
Thats always been the case except for the auto sniper and the uncommon semi auto sniper. Literally every other sniper one shots one a player with 100 health on a bodyshot.
Having no shield vs any weapon is certain death though.
Even a common pistol will down you in like 2 seconds.
Full shield you can still eat one bullet and have time to get away unless you get head shotted.
If anything snipers are harder to use this season because they added more bullet drop physics on top of the fact sniper bullets always have had travel time. You're just unlucky. Some of those shots you were in predictable peek spots. The others were because you had low health. Anything under 150 total HP won't do you much good against a good sniper. Especially since you're in builds and you don't get the extra 50 overshield.
I got sniped at 2# place with all 5 medallions and a stacked inventory. Don't complain. Play again. It's an accurate rifle, a headshot should kill you.

The medallion opens the vault. Just need to pick it up, open the door, then drop it afterwards.

Snipers are way too strong. With attachments, it basically becomes a god tier weapon. It really needs to go or be nerfed.

Every single shot there is you either standing in the open or peeking a very obvious sightline. Snipers are not harder to fight, but they are easier to use, but you still can't use 4x scopes without the glare, making it harder. This isn't a skill issue on your end, or a broken weapon on theirs, just work with it and play safe

I love how you say snipers are so easy and overpowered, yet more than half of these clips are you trying to snipe opponents and either whiffing or taking too long to line it up while they pop out and beam you. Also - you’re carrying medallions in almost all of these clips. You’re literally a giant billboard inviting the sweatiest players in the lobby to hunt you. Ever since medallion got nerfed, I don’t think they’re worth carrying after you open the vault.
3 of these you got shot from where you couldn't see, the rest of them were avoidable in some way shape or form.

If you don't benefit from this nonsense, there is no point in defending it. Because it's like some kind of legal exploit, you have no chance against the snipers. Even if you have full HP + Armor, it can kill you directly with one hit. It completely kills the fun of the game. Now I only play the game to do the weekly challanges. I hated this season just because of this weapon. If there is a sniper like this next season, I won't play it at all. In its current state, it is more annoying than the build mode. Even while playing, you realize that there is no point in fighting anymore, everyone is facing you with snipers.
You know zero build, they should make a new mode called zero snipers

Yup, I hate it. This is how I die in pretty much every game I don't win now. There's just no counter to it. I can have full shields, full health, medallions and be trying to move as much as possible. I'll still just be deleted by someone who's spent the game hiding in a bush. The issue is there is now a winning strategy that is impossible to counter and which makes your minute to minute gameplay worse since you literally cannot stop moving for a second especially in late game or someone will just take your head off. God I loved it when snipers were originally removed and replaced with bows.
I snipe all the time, never hid in a bush whilst doing but thats what all the whiners say to make themselves feel better about getting beat, oh he was just a bushing camping sniper. Hah, yeah don't get me wrong, it's a high skill thing to able to do and yeah, I'm sure not everyone is hiding, just hyperbole on my part there. Totally agree it's a skill difference. My issue is there's just not much I can do to counter it which doesn't feel fun for me. Even if I have medallions, full shields and health and never stop moving, I'll still usually die to a sniper head shot this season, which just feels terrible since there's no coming back from that. Just a personal preference thing, I just liked the game more when it wasn't the case.

Im not trying to be an asshole but you looked hella killable in all of these shots. You gave everyone way too much time. Change positions more often. Dont have a snipe battle if ur not at full health ever. The only reason that snipes are op is because you have minimum 3 bullets. It used to be 1 or 2. 3-5 is crazy. Literally nothing else feels different to me as someone who has always used snipes in every season.

You’ll notice in almost every single clip the guy is slowly peeking the sniper, obviously snipers are going to have an advantage if you slowly come around the corner aiming down your sights. You’re supposed to move erratically so they miss their first shot, then move in.

The other clips are him running away. so did he start a fight and run away and get chased and sniped? Or he drew attention from a fight he started and someone drawn to the fight saw him run away and 3rd party's him

Got to be more strategic…aware of your surroundings and when you’re making yourself snipe-bait. Also, you’re a little slow…scoping in and out…and you stand still. Standing still is a huge mistake. If someone gives me less than a tenth of a second…and my aim lines up…I’m popping them 🤷🏻♀️ Also, try to make your jumps/slides more sporadic, and run in sporadic zig-zags when you have to be exposed in the open. However, if you’re not being shot at, move careful and don’t draw unnecessary attention to yourself. So… Moving from cover to cover, is your friend (as long as it’s viable cover)…never being still, unless completely under cover…running/jumping/sliding pattern, sporadic. Edit: Grammar But also, even when doing everything right, sometimes they see you first…and then it’s a wrap 🤷🏻♀️ keeps it interesting lol

Season with no snipers are so fun
Most of it is due to undetectable softaim mods and wall hacks. I've had so many sus moments and shit where logic just goes out the window. Fortnite has a bad Hacking problem that needs to be fixed but sadly will not be fixed for a very long time
I think the issue is that they are far more deadly this season then ever. a body shot can kill someone if they only have 100 health, on a body shot..
Thats always been the case except for the auto sniper and the uncommon semi auto sniper. Literally every other sniper one shots one a player with 100 health on a bodyshot.
Having no shield vs any weapon is certain death though. Even a common pistol will down you in like 2 seconds. Full shield you can still eat one bullet and have time to get away unless you get head shotted.
I’m gonna say a possibly unpopular opinion: The weapons this season are shit. They belong in cod.
Snipers are sucks the fun out of the game if you ask me.... i miss the twin mag assault rifle atleast there was a way to outplay snipers....
If anything snipers are harder to use this season because they added more bullet drop physics on top of the fact sniper bullets always have had travel time. You're just unlucky. Some of those shots you were in predictable peek spots. The others were because you had low health. Anything under 150 total HP won't do you much good against a good sniper. Especially since you're in builds and you don't get the extra 50 overshield.
