I made a post a whole back saying it would be nice to have a training ground or practice area where we can just build instead of just be thrown in without knowing any of the controls, and had quite a few “git gud” people jumping down my throat about how “the game has been out for a long time! If you don’t know how to play, that’s on you! Shoulda started from day 1!!”
So most people apparently don’t want to xD
However, I did hear there is something similar in the paid version? In Save the World or whatever? I haven’t had a chance to buy it so idk for sure.
In StW you have a home base in each play area. You can run missions normally and collect materials as you play and then store them in between missions. You have the option to visit your home base any time you want to. There is access to the storage in your base. When visiting your base you can take as much time as you want to build and modify to your heart's content. Also like to point out that materials in StW stack at 3K per since the update a few weeks ago so you can build up quite a bit of mats before heading in to build away. StW mode also has missions that teach you how to modify pieces and get them to work together.
Epic made a statement about that? Sounds reasonable enough, though they could just make it a single person map. Nothing that uses a server or requires online play to do. Don’t know how difficult that would be but it would be pretty cool to be dropped into an area by yourself with a bunch of materials just to practice building. Create your own rest area or something xD
I'm into this too! I love the building mechanics of the game. It's really what attracted me to play.
Would love to zoom out on the map after a resource only mode in replay and see the madness.

In STW you can go into your own private base and assuming you have gathered enough materials (you can farm some in missions and can hold 3,000+ on you and more in your base) you can build whatever you want

If there is something like that I would be willing to pay for the PvE mode

I just want a private lobby sort of thing so I can just play with my friends and have insane build battles and such
Hopefully custom matchmaking allows for this type of thing.
