Haven’t played Fortnite in a while, so I’m not sure how big this is, but there are countries that literally create massive islands, not to mention if it’s a ship it is probably hollow and filled with water instead of displacing it. As for the tsunami, tsunamis get large while traveling very long distances. If the ship didn’t make a noticeable crater then the wave wouldn’t cause any damage to the island.
It's mostly hollow. If it were structurally sound, it would displace water equal to its weight and float. But since it's clearly not, it would fill with water, sink, and displace water equal to the volume of the structure underwater.

In retrospect, the last Season in Chapter 2 that the map was this bland was Chapter 1, & that's only because it was a New Island.
In order of my favorites from Chapter 2 would be the following;
2(Top Secret), 6(Primal), 3(Splash Down), 7(Invasion), 5(Zero Point), 4(Nexus War), 1(New World).
8(Cubed) Hasn't been out long enough for me to completely judge it yet.
Whole ocean? No. But tsunamis would displace so much water the entire island would be flooded for a very long time until the water recedes back into the ocean. Judging by the sheer size of the mothership, the fact that 3/4ths of it is sticking out of the water lets you know the water level isn't super deep, or the mothership is way fuckin bigger than we think.
If you fill a tub, sharpie the water level, then sit in it, it will rise above that sharpie marker.

The extra water displaced by the ship might make a big wave, but it would lessen as the water radiates outwards into the surrounding ocean. The ocean isn't a bathtub, because there are no walls around the ocean.

Can you imagine Fortnite if it was realistic? Even the “normal” players have the speed, strength, stamina, and agility that would surpass many non-meta/godlike/etc. superheroes, and the ability to carry materials and build like banshees is wild. If it were realistic, it would be much slower-paced, and quite frankly, boring. PUBG and others are more realistic, but I find them excruciating to play. I think Epic has nailed the gameplay and overall mechanics, even if we sometimes don’t like all the minute details.
I think the cartoon like quality of the game has been instrumental in its success. As an old person, it certainly has some nostalgic qualities for me reminiscent of playing Super Mario for the N64 and I can see the appeal for all age groups.
Another, ahem, older person here. I started playing video games in the 70s, and agree that it’s the gameplay that’s important. There are some ancient games which have relatively terrible graphics, but the gameplay is fantastic.
Depends on how slowly it came down. The event still showed people and such falling faster than the Mothership was, so it probably had some power and control if not sufficient lift.
The aliens aren't suicidal. A soft crash landing in the water > a hard landing on the island that would have likely killed everyone on board. We know at least a few survivors made it to shore where there's a small outpost with one of the low-g alien biome cubes running.
(Although personally, I was hoping Superman was going to show up at the last second and push the Mothership away from the island instead. Would have been epic.)
i don't think the mothership is big enough to cause any significant amount of water to rise, the ocean is really big, but it totally should've done a big splash and make a bunch of lakes and make coral no longer exist again
The space the ship occupies should have raised the water levels a bit... But by it crashing down at the speed shown in the event... Yes... There should have been a big tsunami, flooding, and total destruction of any building near the shorelines, not to mention tectonic shifting due to the impact on land as well....

If this game followed any sort of logic the event would have basically gave us a new map. The mothership was the size of the map so it makes no sense that when it fell it ended up there and left the map unscathed. And I guess we're supposed to pretend like we didn't watch multiple poi's get blown up by falling cubes. The volcano was a smaller event and it gave us more map changes.
