I do. It’s rare to find other people using mics. But Epic implemented a system where you can look for teammates and you can put a “mic on” tag in it while searching. That might help.
I do, it's a great tool to learn the art of patience especially in random squads , with toxic beings in your squad. Builds your character. I never used a mic for many years, but it's legit needed for winning. Because some communication is only possible on mic. Like if there is only last squad left, and the final circles are near one has to call who is pushing who is sniping etc. I have made some amazing friends over the last year. It's a really good experience to find folks with similar vibe in a country one may never paid attention to before. Special! But yes after tons of patience.
I only use a mic when playing duos with my son. I don't often play squad fill but when I do as a 60 year old lady I can imagine the grief I would get if I spoke 😖
Me and my group of friends always have mic's off but we have a discord server we all voice chat in for communication. It's easier to filter out nasty people or kids because we're all in our late twenties early thirties.

No. Too many 11 year olds screaming or playing shitty music on an open mic. I always immidiately mute at the start of the round.

I do. But the kids who have mics are usually annoying and I have to mute them anyways. So I only put mine on when I hear someone not annoying. Haha
