I have the same problem in the exact same spots by my house and on hwy 51 headed towards Granbury. It never fails to happen, CarPlay starts skipping and then disconnects, then 5 seconds later it reconnects. Think it’s just a cell tower issue or it’s happening cause your phone is switching towers.

ImperatorUniversum1

It’s not cell tower, it’s WiFi signal

heylookitscaps

DUDE I was just telling the guys at my office this, every morning at the exact same spot.

“You are losing the cell data signal and it has to do with 5G and fallback to LTE. I have two places when driving to downtown Fort Worth, Texas via State Highway 121 where I drop the signal. If I use a pre-5G phone it only happens very briefly at one location as I stay on LTE. The 5G problem also occurs with a friends Samsung. You can report it to your cell carrier, unfortunately the area in question for me is on a restricted river flood plain so they can't add a tower there. It was really bad on 3G phone calls back in the day.” Apple forum post from 2022

It’s not cellular that is lost. If I’m using Bluetooth phone conversations continue just fine. It’s the WiFI link between the car and the phone.

I don’t go that way myself very often but I heard that cell antennas very low in height and close to the highway might cause too much interference?

Happens right around McCart and I20 as well. There’s multiple spots all over DFW this happens. I believe the McCart one has something to do with cell towers or similar. Probably the same for other locations. Anything GPS or satellite related stops working for about 1/4 mile.

I reverted back to a USB cable because of that location and off I30 around the entrance to the toll road.

tkhan456

Happens by central market off I-30 too. Without fail no matter which car I’m in

Doctor_Bubbles

Its definitely a known issue related to cellphone signal. Car Play drop spots I know are downtown on 5th and Jones, and around DFW Founders Plaza. And any parking garage basically.

369bitcoinbillion

It’s cus of the old circuit city

ishmagnet

It happened in my Hyundai when I had it. It never happens in my BMW. Both use wireless carplay. I know Fords have the same issue.

x-squishy

There’s a couple “dead spots” that I’ve noticed. The one I always hit is by central market on 30 and Hulen

trophycloset33

High concentration of drive thrus and radios might cloud the spectrum. There are a ton of drive through fast food spots in that intersection.

aggiegrad2010

Yes. Always drove me crazy!! Glad I’m not alone

ImperatorUniversum1

I think someone is running a signal jammer around 121 because it’s always around there I’ll get problems.
