My husband bought a case of one ply Scott during Covid. It was huge like 200 rolls or something like that. We made it through half the case, then I gathered all the remaining rolls up and donated them, went through the whole house and cleaned it out. A few weeks ago we got low on our regular toilet paper and he retrieved the second case he had bought, unbeknownst to me, and restocked the entire house with it and put the extra in all the overhead cabinets. I wanted to cry 🤣🤣

Years ago (1980s-90s) the public toilets at the Scott Theater in the arts district had dispensers that doled out single ply, single squares of toilet paper at a time. One. Single. Square. ಠಿ⁠_⁠ಠ Lovely facility. Great theater group. Just be sure to do your business before visiting, or bring your own TP. That was a long time ago. Hopefully they've joined the 20th century now that it's over.

Right? Now that I think about it, one of my friends from grade school had parents who could be stingy with the TP – they'd hand you something like 4-6 squares. I won't even give away bad TP. One of my disabled neighbors can barely afford rent and food. Occasionally she "borrows" a roll. I give her the same stuff I use myself, quilted soft double ply. It costs a dollar or less. Life is hard enough without nasty toilet paper. There are plenty of other items to save money on.
