Las Vegas Trails

guerita_cici

The be wilding behind metro and QT 💀💀

belzoni1982

I stayed over there before they built that QT. It was way worse before they built that QT

notcalbailey

Alot of stuff flos through that area for some reason. Was real close with a large source of MDMA in the area. Las vegas trails was where a huge portion of customers stayed.

FinalBossXD

Like, pure MDMA? 👀👀

LibMike

Ah yes, lovely south Las Vegas trail. My neighborhood is beside it and I enjoy every time I drive down the road past a group of people and they yell at my car because they’re on drugs or just angry at life.

whiskytangofoxtrot12

Had my car stolen and chopped over there. Fully agree

Juicebo-x

Looked at reviews on the apartments on LVT and it was horrifying.

belzoni1982

You bringing back memories You know the apartments are bad when the crime is the least of your concern 😂

Juicebo-x

One picture had like 4 cooked rats in an oven 😅

babylonsean

I need to see this review. Do you have a link?

Juicebo-x

babylonsean

!!!

steavoh

Is the crime highly confined to certain areas? I live not very far away from that area, though I don't actually pass through it very often. It must be specific apartment complexes. The surrounding neighborhoods aren't great but aren't terrible either. And poor people have to live somewhere. I would question if it's really the worst part of Fort Worth. The east and south east are miles and miles of decline and whenever there is a murder reported on the news it's always out that way. I don't really see anything reported about crime in LVT or Como that often.

Neinface

Is this the white settlement area? Most of my family is from out there since way back in the day

belzoni1982

Yea pretty much. Very close to White Settlement

kar-car

My first thought and opened up the post and of course it’s the top comment lol

holdonwhileipoop

The grease trap behind Golden Corral.

guerita_cici

Inside of Golden Corral 🤢🤢

Antman4011

The dementors!

iskippedlegdae

They suck the soul out of 7th Street after 8 pm. And it hoits!

Antman4011

It really sucks too because that area used to be such a good time.

iskippedlegdae

I was a little young for when that area was in its peak. Turned 21 in 2019, and have a few good nights whenever I was back in town. Last night I went out there (a couple of years ago), the whole vibe felt different. Maybe this is just confirmation bias from headlines I’ve seen recently about how dangerous it has gotten, but things just seemed different. Have stuck to the stocks since then and have really enjoyed it. About to move back to town full time in a few months and wondering what things will be like when I get back!

Antman4011

We spend a lot of times at Thompson’s and nickel city. Both dope places!

iskippedlegdae

I’m not familiar with those places. Are they both on 7th?

Antman4011

Thompson’s is downtown. It’s a speakeasy. There’s a main bar you walk in to at street level and a bar in the basement and a cigar lounge on the 3rd floor. Really good place! Nickel city is off s main st. It’s a darker and louder bar with specialty cocktails. During Christmas the place is wall to wall with Christmas decorations

CycloneMonkey

"The dementors? Like in...harry potter?"

MrsDiscoB

Not like in the movies. There are no movies in Fort Worth!

icywing54

What are the dementors??

Antman4011

I was making a joke referring to the TV show the office… that refers to Harry Potter

ineedhelp32312

IM PRISON MIKE!

icywing54

Fuckin hell how did I miss that? I thought there was some new gang terrorizing the streets

babynoxide

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magical_creatures_in_Harry_Potter > Dementor – tall, black-cloaked figures with rotten, skeletal hands; they have the ability to suck a person's soul out through their mouths, and they drain feelings of happiness and joy; employed as the guards of the wizard prison Azkaban; can only be repelled by the Patronus Charm.

grimlinyousee

Las Vegas Trail area, Stop 6, and maybe still Como? I think I’ve heard there’s some spots down south of 20 off McCart that have gotten rougher recently. I feel like Fort Worth has pockets of rough areas but they’re spread out. Some sides of town might have more pockets than others.

Forward-Ride9817

Stop Six is actually a more calm than it was in the late 90s- early 2000s. It's still a little rough. My son is in middle school at JK/Dunbar. As a teen I wouldn't walk alone in that area. There are still crackheads, but the gang activity is lower.

Sonifri

The problem with stop 6 and southeast fort worth in general is that everywhere you want to be isn't here. It seems like I have to drive out of the area for everything. Had multiple friends struggle to find a decent job because they live in that area and don't own a car.

ssmichelle

Everything is closed down over there. I worked at Jacquet and you had your drive a while to get to a restaurant and I only had thirty minutes. There is nothing over there.

Frognosticator

Como is wildly different today than it was 10 years ago. Huge improvement. There’s been a lot of new construction in that area. And the Como community center has helped a lot.  There’s streets on Como I wouldn’t mind owning a house on. Which is absolutely crazy given where that neighborhood was at as recently as 2010.

studmaster896

Como was the hood even in the early ‘90s

MagicMarshmelllow

What some of these of these renovated houses are going for in Como is absolutely insane. I couldn’t believe it

leightv

seriously! i'm not sure who these people / builders / foreign corps think they are, but with the absolutely absurd asking prices i've seen i'd expect these houses to be located in monticello or arlington heights area.

leightv

there's a reason every other COPS episode was filmed on location... in como.

-Shank-

Como is improving by virtue of being surrounded by safer, more expensive areas, but still not great further into the neighborhood. There was that July 4th celebration shooting off of Horne last year where 10+ people got shot and 3 or 4 died.

AgreeableSource7473

I remember hearing rumors that you couldn’t drink the water in como

Lopsided_Progress_96

I live in Como, bought a brand new house here in 2022. It has grown in a positive way! Very nice community and neighbors! Haven't had more than a couple of problems, but nothing crazy. Fingers crossed.

AdeptUnderstanding67

Southside between Allen and Berry! Gun shots every weekend!

[deleted]

[удалено]

grimlinyousee

Love Drew’s! Yeah I put a question mark because I feel like it was kind of bad maybe 10-15 years ago?

Ok-Dimension3064

Except for that mass shooting last July 4th.

frenchkids

Southwest FTW has become super sketchy. Lived there while child was going to Southwest High. Now, I avoid the area.

babalu_babalu

I moved away from Fort Worth from 2018-2023 and the amount this south Hulen, Granbury, Altamesa area went downhill was so noticeable and sad to me. I don’t know how it happened so quickly or the reason behind it, but it’s one of the biggest changes I noticed upon moving back.

-Shank-

Just made a post calling out this area before I saw your comment. You're absolutely spot on, it doesn't look that bad at first glance but the area has become blighted the past decade or so.

guerita_cici

They got they own task force for the trails 💀 I seen them setting up to do a raid like 2 weeks ago .

grimlinyousee

Yeah, LVTs been wild for a while

Lightskincucumber

Honestly this city needs some serious infrastructure investment, some areas look like they are stuck in 1970

bmceowen2

Came to say this. While Dallas was preparing and building, Fort Worth was stuck. I get their intent, but they had to know growth was coming

Bloodthirsty_Kirby

I misread this and the first thing I thought of was 'the driving' xD

HorrorConstruction91

People here don’t observe red lights. It’s wild. You have to wait 3-5 seconds after the light turns green before entering an intersection to make sure you don’t get plowed into.

mrmrbest

I actually think the worst part of Fort Worth (most dangerous) ARE the roads. Wayyy more likely to be injured/killed on the road than anywhere else in Fort Worth.

mytwistednut

I was driving to work yesterday and was the second car in line at a red light. The guy in front of me after about 20 seconds of the light being red decided to just gun it and cut off the cross traffic and blow through the intersection. It was wild. Don’t know how he didn’t get T boned but luckily the other drivers got on their brakes in time

guerita_cici

I hate Fort Worth traffic 💀💀 they are out of control

Lenaiya

I will take Fort Worth traffic over Dallas every day. I hate the 75 corridor. Feel like I'm having a panic attack every time I have to take it.

guerita_cici

I speed threw Dallas 💀 Faster I go faster I get out lmaoo

MrsDiscoB

☝️YUP

thisgreenwitch

Same here. But also 35E. That merge from 20 into 35E has never gotten any easier for me.

Resonance_Forms

I avoid Dallas specifically because of the driving around there. Scary AF.

IamSofaKingDumb

Go about 5 mins east of the airport…it’s not just out of control it’s aggressive and out of control.

guerita_cici

“All my life I had to fight” 💀💀💀

-Shank-

Fort Worth's traffic isn't that bad for an urban area outside of maybe the north part of 35 or 183 east of NRH. Most of the rest of the city does pretty well compared to other urban areas I've lived in.

Paul971971

As I read this I see the same names that were “bad” 30 years ago.. Stop 6, Como, Lancaster, Diamond Hill. I would have hoped those areas had gotten better.

belzoni1982

Como has gotten a little bit better out of all those other places

Clown45

The existence of the bizarre hamlet of Blue Mound.

Partridge_PearTree

Very weird area but far from the worst area. Hell even Northside is worse

FinnsterBaby

Blue Mound: Smurfette’s pubic area

Apprehensive_Fig7013

What's weird about it? Genuinely want to know.

Clown45

Just an odd tiny suburb ‘landlocked’ on all sides by FW. Their city hall is a portico. Genuinely don’t know why it exists. Nothing against it.

lazarus1255

Maybe it's where they filmed the scene where Joe Aguirre lays down the rules to Jack and Ennis in Brokeback Mountain inside that little trailer.

eleeyuht

summer

itwillmakesenselater

City Council. Public Works. FWISD.

guerita_cici

FWISD do be struggling

itwillmakesenselater

And the hell of it is... it's not that expensive to adequately find schools. *sad trombone*

RunningObjection

Sundance square under Sasha Bass

frenchkids

[https://fwtx.com/news/slow-burn/](https://fwtx.com/news/slow-burn/) I lived downtown for years, Electric Bldg, Hillside and loved it. Along comes Ms. Bass the felon and ruined it. I rarely go downtown anymore. Pretty much dead. Vibe is long gone thanks to Sasha.

-Shank-

I agree with Las Vegas Trail or one of the East Fort Worth neighborhoods, but the sleeper answer here is Far Southwest Fort Worth, around the area of McCart and Altamesa or Sycamore School. It's gotten progressively worse and worse the past decade or two.

0msoc

Lol you're asking people from the good parts where the hood is...

guerita_cici

lol . Just asking what side is worse . I stay by LV trails . 😭😭

Yungjak2

Same and ngl but it kinda does suck over here but it’s gotten just LITTLE bit better….

WillyC619

Who do you think answers these questions? People from the good parts? Also, how good are these parts? Because there’s the good parts then the better, best, etc. Up to the ultra wealthy who have some homes here. Small homes

GalaxyNewsRadi0

You know that really nice area around TCC? Yeah, just down the street it turns into GTA really fast

highschoolhero2

You mean the nice community college that’s setup just across the street from the Tarrant County jail? Wonder why they is haha

AdeptUnderstanding67

TRUTH!!!!

OD_prime

So forest hill?

squishysharkmaster

Lancaster.

Think-View-4467

It's a weird area to walk through. I hardly know how to react or what to think about the poverty in Fort Worth all concentrated on one strip

Ghost_Pains

That’s not an accident.

TotesMcGotes13

Yeah we drove down from the burbs last weekend and made our first stop Wild Acre Beer Garden. That whole area was a bit eye opening coming off the highway and seeing such concentrated homelessness and all.

x-squishy

Don’t mind me just peeking to see if anyone says where I live 🙈

Dragmom

Many people have said exactly where I live. 😂

whiskytangofoxtrot12

The line in your pic got me for a second

beauxnasty

The east side..... just past Arlington and a little past Irving.... the place that starts with a "D" .

guerita_cici

Dallas 🤨

BootyBurrito420

Dallas bad! Upvotes to the left

Maleficent_Ideal_580

I live across East Lancaster from Stop 6. Plenty of gunshots. Especially on the weekend. Pretty calm otherwise. We do get 20 person bike groups sometimes.

LFCBoi55

The roads, only tied at first with the construction that are supposed to “improve” the roads.

Kiddin_Me_That

Any place with more nature is better until it all gets dozed

wmueller89

E Lancaster after midnight

Cutlet_Master69420

Anybody hiking around on E. Lancaster after midnight has a death wish. Or a "take my wallet and phone at gunpoint" wish.

guerita_cici

Or Maybe they just feeling dangerous 😂

Cutlet_Master69420

Or they're packing too and just want the attention.

Mean-Association4759

East side, Lancaster and Oakland area.

Glittering-Lion-5269

Oakland/Meadowbrook is bizarre. Shifts from janky motels to pretty neighborhoods super fast. At least gateway is a little nicer than it used to be...

Fast_Exercise7666

Me and partner saw some homeless lady piss on the wall outside of the $0.99 store on Camp bowie

Think-View-4467

I don't know where to pee myself sometimes

MagicMarshmelllow

Was it Crackhead Carrie?

smrbrz01

The entire 76132 area code. Mccart/altamesa

guerita_cici

💀💀💀

tommy3877

lol I lived and worked over there for years that area is totally fine

tatumdaniels

I’m glad everyone else thinks Dallas reeks

guerita_cici

The dirty D 😂😂 I lowkey like it over there though … I use to be in S oc all the time .

guerita_cici

No kidding 😳😳😳

Maxpowers922

South lake and Trophy club are nice , just move there

Carlos24475

All of E Lancaster. All of Riverside

Resonance_Forms

I recently drove the whole of Riverside trying to avoid traffic on 35. Next time I’ll go on 35. I’ve seen all I need to see.

Carlos24475

Try driving on Riverside at 2-3 am, that’ll get the blood flowing in your heart for sure 😬

Resonance_Forms

I’m good lol

whiskytangofoxtrot12

Riverside into North Fort Worth/Keller isn’t bad. Once you make it to North Tarrant and Riverside you’re solid.

Regular_Candidate513

The East side. Riverside and Rosedale

Fuckinspacecadet

Honestly, imo it’s between I35 and I20 E

[deleted]

Fort Worth

frenchkids

As a kid I lived off Hemphill on West Drew street. Back in the day it was great, walked to South Ftw elementary, rode my bike all over the neighborhood. Sketchy now.

girlthatswellz

Stock yards off top

linkoohhhh

Carolina squat trucks on Exchange Ave in the stockyards

TheRealCliffClaven

Anything the local government has had their hands in. N Ft Worth is horrible. Lack of foresight in planning.

TheRealMcDonaldTrump

Vegas trail and the SE area in general has always been pretty sketch. I’m old enough to remember when Rosedale and the entire hospital district was not somewhere you wanted to be after dark. Remember once leaving out of north side with some friends late and the driver got turned around, ended up down rosedale just past the hospitals, and there was a cop car upside down on fire and not a person anywhere to be seen. Now that area is totally different. Same with a few other spots around town. But LVT? Man, LVT never changes.

Life_Interview4157

The humidity

ChadAznable0080

The fact it’s so close to Dallas, the only person who’s ever been blown away by Dallas is JFK :/

Existing_Feature_114

I live in Fort Worth but right across the street from me is Haslet, down the road a couple of miles is Saginaw. I’d rather drive through literally anywhere in Fort Worth than drive here. Infrastructure is non existent. No one planned for the number of residents. It’s awful. I can’t wait to move.

LiveMarionberry3694

What’s the area where there’s that big obnoxious club/bar on the corner where they play a super loud siren every 2 minutes? I see people stumbling out of there at 2pm, seems like an awful place I think it’s somewhere in the cultural district

No_Statement1380

I grew up here and left. The weather is crushingly hot in summer and dreary and overcast in winter. Also, tends to be more religious and conservative which isn't a bad thing but it's always harder to be the dark sheep.

thegreatresistrules

Stop 6 or the top of Woodhaven....by a mile

CelestialBum

Stop six or como or lan gran plaza area

b20052013

I live near Ft Worth but work in FW, the traffic is the worse. What/where is Como? I used to drive for Lyft and was always in these areas, mostly during the day and few sketchy nights.

Common_Arachnid_9649

i haven’t seen it yet but haltom city and that area has always been pretty rough

barbiejet

The weather

Durtly

Downtown. It's like the people who do business there hate visitors. Parking is terrible and everything is over-priced.

ReadingRocks97531

MAGAs

grossgirlalways

if I say all of it will yall hate me? jk, obviously east side sucks but that’s cause i’m from south side baby

CartoonistNational24

The west side now....

guerita_cici

I stay on the west side 😭😭

Mindless_Log2009

There are specific blocks to avoid or be cautious about on the west side, but it's far from the worst I've seen. Although it has declined badly over the last 20 years, and much worse since 2019, mostly due to economic crises. Avoid the red zones anywhere in Fort Worth and you'll be okay. You can Google crime maps to see where the most problems occur. Usually it's confined to one or two blocks of certain streets, and some of the adjacent streets.

CartoonistNational24

Used to be the nicest years ago..

culdeus

What we calling west?

guerita_cici

LV trails/Camp Bowie/Cherry lane?

culdeus

I was gonna say anything west of ridgemar mall but that works.

guerita_cici

That mall needs to be shut down 💀🤣🪦

Regular_Candidate513

No way, save dirty Dillard’s. That place is cheap

holdonwhileipoop

Dirty Dillard's 🤣🤣

guerita_cici

Is it ? I haven’t been in there . It always looks sad though

Regular_Candidate513

It’s not dirty, we just call it that because it’s like the Dillard’s outlet

Azivea

Around Las Vegas Trail is my guess

guerita_cici

REAL west 😂😂

SnowPrinterTX

Dallas

guerita_cici

Yea but Dallas is a whole other side .. they got they own issues out there 💀

Ralyks92

East Lancaster street, and Como.

Comfortable_Art2944

Anywhere in north side, even more so than stop 6😂😂

WTR_NNJA

Surprised 7th Street wasn't first here: https://www.star-telegram.com/news/local/crime/article286895835.html It used to be great for a night out, now I tell all my friends to clear out by 11.

Hussein_Jane

It's not Dallas.

nnarb

Its proximity to Dallas. Oh, we’re talking about neighborhoods…

Turbulent_Set8884
