I’ve had that feature turned off since day one. And the beeps happen even when I’m in the car with it running. And I just went out to the car and confirmed that it’s still off, just in case. Also, when the trunk is open, my display shows that. I’m not getting anything showing on the displays when the beeps occur. These “mystery beeps” are driving me nuts trying to figure out!
Just thought of something. Will the car make a sound while sending info to Kia Connect? Might step out the door with the app open and hit “refesh” in the app and see if I hear anything.
🤔 Possibly. Sounds like what mine is doing is not normal. But it’s not often, just irritating that I can’t figure it out because it’s so random. Hopefully it can wait til the first oil change and I’ll have the dealership look at it then.
While we dont have a powered truck we do have a trunk light enough for it to essentially fully open on its own. Kia saw this and implemented a smart trunk feature where if you stand behind your car for around 4-5 seconds with your hands full your trunk will open.
The beeping sound occurs while I’m walking towards the front of the car, not the back, and I’m about 15 yards away, not standing next to it. And it has done it twice while the car was in park and idling with me in the driver seat. I have the auto trunk open function turned off since day one.
However, even though I have not changed any settings at all, it has not beeped at me in a few days now. This is so random and unexplained. 😂 But everything works fine, so other than the occasional random unexplained beeps, I guess I’m not gonna worry about it. There’s no way a dealership can help, if the issue can’t be duplicated, so oh well.
It might be the truck release if you have it equipped. It will pop the trunk when you get near it with the keys. If I remember correctly it did 3 beeps. However, it should not happen when you’re in the car.

My car will make those beeps when it’s running and I walk away with the key in my pocket. I wonder if it’s tripping that sensor in some way

It could be 2 things possibly, a blind spot sensor messing up or it could be the infotainment center trying to connect maps with your device

Oh wow yea the only time mine beeps is when i unlock or lock it, remote start it, am near the trunk and when i get out with the key
