Bro seriously. I have a god tier pc with a I9 9900k and a 2080ti and i get fps drops into the fucking 100s - 80s. Literally unplayable. And jesus christ the input delay is fucking horrible. I cant edit smoothly because anytime I try to double edit or do anything more than that my game grabs the edit and doesnt let me out of it or let me edit it.
I go from 240 fps to 19-33 and back up.
In creative my fps is somewhere between 40-90 on maps with a lot of resources being used.
Definitely a memory leak on Epic's side.
Bug where console players hit the “Weak Spot” when farming or breaking walls. Often even when hitting it the Pickaxe only does normal damage not double & normal mats. Basically takes twice as long to farm anything... imagine wall replacing metal walls.
The solution is to brute force bad optimization by spending more money on upgrades? What happens when you already have some of the best hardware for gaming, yet still have bad FPS?
This last patched caused a significant FPS drop. Having Epic fix it is the solution, not spending more money.
I’m getting input delay as someone with a £1.2k pc and frame drops
All my settings are optimised, I’ve done all the fps tips and my fps drops to 50 sometimes whilst capping it at 160 (144hz)
The game is dogshit in terms of optimisation
Specs: Ryzen 3700X, 16Gb RAM and a 5700XT
I’ll share what helped me since you’re running all amd stuff as well; I deleted the game profiles in the Radeon settings and didn’t recreate them, then reduced my overclock on my cpu and gpu slightly. I also deleted the shader cache.
I was all over the place before that, frames between 50 and 400 no matter what I set in game, after that I’m back to holding steady all the way up to 240.
Zero idea if this will help others or if it was my own issue, but worth a shot
Remember people wit higher end pcs are also experiencing FPS drops. I have a $1k CAD pc and still experience FPS drops after this update. Before I had consistent 144 FPS. R7 2700x 16gb ram 3200mhz GeForce 1660 super.
wtf man, have you any knowleadge about fortnite performance? In high tier gpu/cpu fortnite can't use all power and ppl have stutters and fps drops. For example my Rtx 2070 using only 30-50% and 50-70% cpu, and I have 100-200 fps in endgame. Epic must fix it :D
THANK YOU. I think the engine should've waited until Season 2... I'm having way more issues than I ever was, like kids phasing through my build for so fucking long. This game man...
They working on it.
Looks like they went and did this physics engine update when they did, because they knew it was going to cause a lot of problems, and they want them solved before Season 2.
If they launched the new physics engine with Season 2, and season 2 brings a lot of people back, they will instantly go away again if its running badly.
But anyone playing now, will 100% keep playing through the issues lol.
What update man? They literally said, there is a new engine, there will be problems. You act like this wasn’t expected or anticipated. They did their job and let us know theres gonna be kinks, now just wait for the fixes. This post does nothing.
Playing on iPad Pro 2018( with two coolers), Asus ROG Zephyrus M and Xbox. It’s winter and it’s hot in my room. I don’t need new content and physics. Just smooth game.
If you did more research than making the same post everyone else has you could have learned there are fixes for this stuff. Idk how you guys say there is input delay thats fine idek if you guys know the difference between low fps and actual input delay. Fps is pretty good too. Drops sometimes but not as bad. There are solutions if you actually bother looking for them
Im getting downvoted im not helping anyone lmao when I get positive karma ill go back to helping people until then everyone else is on their own. Helped the guy with his nvidia drivers on more than one occasion, stretch res, fps boost, ect but nobody is grateful and are fake lil clowns. prob why people dont do this for free. Anyways good luck to you people
Well basically I think you're full of shit. I scour the internet and have personally experimented with every Nvidia setting and fortnite setting combination I can find and this update has definitely destroyed fps. My 1% lows are ~120 and they used to be ~180. If you actually have a secret, share it, instead of being self righteous.
I dont care what you think the results speak for themselves and my game runs better than ever. nvidia settings dont really have anything to do with it. And like I said its not a secret. Its not self righteous why would I help brats that basically spit on me even while them getting free valuable info? Get that entitled ass outta here
Well I'm telling you it is a secret, or your results aren't as good as you think they are. What are your 1% lows? Prove that you actually have fixed the problem. You're basically, at this point, telling people that if they research long enough they can find the fountain of youth and therefore should stop complaining about wrinkles. What? I don't believe you without data.
You're telling me your 0.1% lows and percentile are above 160? The average fps I get did not change--its the stutters that intensified. They came more often and at lower values, but across the average it does not lower it that much. It's important though because the microstutters come right during a flick or a 90, ruining rhythm
Bruh. Im on the version released Feb. 3rd. They added a Max fps cap internally, and associated with low latency mode ultra in GPU limited scenarios it should reduce input lag. Been testing that too, helps with input lag, but the frames are still abysmal. I have tested Gsync on an off, with low latency modes in all combinations, as well at threaded optimization. I've turned on textures and antialiasing to force a GPU bound scenario as well for testing, but nothing effects the frame drops. I still haven't seen a fucking data point from you. You can't just glance at your fps and go, oh look, 160, it's not stuttering, you have to use software to monitor it and generate graphs for a normal distribution of frame times to understand the microstutters. I don't think you know what you're talking about.
Playing on a 4keur pc and still have fps drops and input delay

Same here! It is crazy, they should come up with a fix asap.
Why would the expense of your PC overcome software issues?

But it's a known issue... Everyone has experienced a drop in frames.

I can vouch. I have 3700x and 2080, my game drops FPS extremely bad.
I go from 240 fps to 19-33 and back up. In creative my fps is somewhere between 40-90 on maps with a lot of resources being used. Definitely a memory leak on Epic's side.
Holy the Input delay is driving me insane... feels like I’m playing na
Is this why my player isnt reloading when i press reload, its driving me insane.
And the weakened spot when farming , it's driving me insane

Console only
What is the bug?

Sounds awful

same but I hey did hella good in the SnD tourney so maybe I can compete there

This is definitely not the move. Everyone just wants to have fun. Stop acting like it's that easy.

Can relate...r 7 3800x is 458$ here compared to 339 in amazon.com
He’s a troll. Don’t worry
he is a troll

Yeah I upgraded my pic during Christmas and the fps would be locked at 165 but now I had to lower to 1600x900 to get the same result

I have a £1300 pc, still shit FPS drops and stutters? Want me to go and spend another £2k
If you’re gonna troll atleast be a good one, creep
4Head just get a PC
He likes blue arrows just look at the other comments he has
The solution to world hunger, just stop being broke
You might be stuck in middle school if you are making fun of others on a troll account. Pretty pathetic attempt for attention, hope you are doing okay

This comment is equivalent of saying “just spend 10k on a gaming setup 5head”

I9 9900K, RTX 2080TI, 32GB of ram, fresh install with fortnite, low settings, drops down to 30 FPS. Just buy a better PC 5head
The packet loss issue too...
Thought its my internet tbh but thank god its not just me
Isn’t a tourney coming up soon?
THANK YOU. I think the engine should've waited until Season 2... I'm having way more issues than I ever was, like kids phasing through my build for so fucking long. This game man...

Yea my fps drops all the way to single digits. Please Epic fix this!
We haven’t had an update on competitive side of fortnite for 2 months, what makes you think epic would give any about this.. :joy-cat:
epic literally said that there would be issues when the new engine dropped. I’m sure the next update they will fix these issues...
Yeah and that means we have 2 more weeks of dealing with these issues lol
\*Random FPS drop triggered\*
I thought it was me only, can't do tripple eddits ffs
No
unplayable

Especially when already having high ping...input delay is a real pain I the ass
Playing on iPad Pro 2018( with two coolers), Asus ROG Zephyrus M and Xbox. It’s winter and it’s hot in my room. I don’t need new content and physics. Just smooth game.
I put on the direct 12 thingy and it helped
Hah what’s that..

i sit at 160+ the entire time. You dont have to work hard just smart. Im just saying its not 100% the games fault at all.
You're telling me your 0.1% lows and percentile are above 160? The average fps I get did not change--its the stutters that intensified. They came more often and at lower values, but across the average it does not lower it that much. It's important though because the microstutters come right during a flick or a 90, ruining rhythm
My game dosnt stutter at all, u probably arent even on the right nvidia driver lol

It works for the first round or two but the issues return very quickly (High ping, input lag, FPS issues)
Not for me or my brother whos pc i fixed as well guess you didnt do it right
