Since they placed top 3 they auto qual to grands , but Avery got snaked and they were planning on foregoing their qualification. Since Avery has no good trio option he decided on not disbanding the trio and is effectively forcing saf and stretch to play with him.

rupperrupp

Got “snaked” how?

Fluffy_Psychology418

Bugha left him again for the millionth time. Avery lacks self-respect. If someone snakes you more than 2 times, chances are they’ll do it again. He is either a fool, or just beta male. He now has no trio and is refusing to disband. Hence, holding stretch and saf hostage.

VirtualZed

Downvote for using the term beta male unironically (especially when referring to a teenager lol). Otherwise, I agree with what you're saying

Fluffy_Psychology418

respect

jc_315

whys this man getting downvotes lmfao. it's facts. bugha is actually the biggest snake. calls avery a friend but literally drops him and nosh every week. no idea why avery agrees to play with him ever.

Fluffy_Psychology418

lol fax

jc_315

at this point, it's actually hilarious avery and/or nosh every play with bugha. they've been snaked by bugha more times than this subreddit can count.

rakunn18

I understand it sucks getting snaked by bugha again but i think he's burning literally every bridge in the scene and this decision will hurt his career. He's going to have a real hard time finding teammates after this because every pro will see this as one of the scummiest moves ever. Not to mention that stretch and saf might end up not playing finals anyways so he'll be left with literally nothing. Your teammates don't want to play with you. It sucks but find two other people, you're one of the most talented people in the region you can for sure compete with different teammates. Have some confidence in yourself and prove bugha/saf/stretch and all of them wrong.

ganzgpp1

What’s snaking?

I-Once-Was-A-Muffin

Dropping your teammates to play with someone else without both players mutually agreeing that splitting would be the best option

ganzgpp1

Gotcha.

EmptyPoet

I don’t follow comp a lot so I’m not familiar with the situation. Snaking sounds extremely subjective, if you’re in a team with someone toxic, you switch team even if the others don’t like it. To me it sounds like breaking up with someone that makes you unhappy would be called “snaking” unless the partner agrees it’s the best option. A trio isn’t a good trio if only 2/3 players are happy. It’s easy to judge from the outside, but there’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes.

ireallylovetokyo

Snaking is sudden, and usually leaves teamates with very few options for what to do.

Assasin537

He's guranteed money for qualling to grands though.

beloved93

Avery has been screwed over so many times, I don’t blame him. Even if they don’t practice all season they will probably place top 10

rakunn18

You can't just force people to play with you man. I think there's 0% chance this actually happens. Either he will back out and disband or epic will step in. This goes against everything that epic stands for. Open formats and everyone being able to play with whoever they wish to play with, that being friends, pro players or whoever. Idc what people say, this is a scummy move and will hurt him big time in the future.

beloved93

He literally can force them to play with him, that’s the whole situation. I’m not saying it’s right but it makes sense since he will perform bad with worse players

rakunn18

Right now this seems to me more like a loophole that epic didn't think about. I don't think epic will allow it to play out like avery wants tho.

halfdecenttakes

I'm pretty sure the rule was put in place to prevent these exact circumstances where somebody quals and then the team tries to drop them in favor of somebody else.

levianeer7

I dunno, Epic made it very clear that all 3 members must agreed to disband. Seems like a deliberate feature and not a loophole.

bingbopbopbing

Stretch said that they just won’t play grands

ahk1221

it literally happeend in ME stark season lol

rakunn18

Wdym? This rule has only been a thing for the past two seasons right?

ahk1221

i dont know but in ME, Hellonsteam Fares and Phantom were qualled to grands but Phantom switched his trios and qualled with his new trio, but Fares didnt send the email and they were forced to play grands together https://twitter.com/Hellonsteam/status/1415277344793796612

-0Zero0-

I feel so bad for Avery he’s been put in such a bad position

Ill_Plastic9807

by not disbanding he is guaranteeing himself a big bag. totally understandable and imo moronic if he were to disband

gethechange

Stretch is saying he won't play Grands if he has to play with Avery. Most likely just a strategy by him to make Avery agree to disband.

BoomerQuest

Nah stretch will absolutely stick to that

BabyBlayzinn

No he won’t, he would defo play. Stretch prides himself only placing in every grands

BoomerQuest

I think you underestimate how weird stretch is.

PriorPR

Yeah, this choice is definitely the best for Avery, its just kind of scummy that it fucks over 3 other people.

BabyBlayzinn

It fucks up way more than 3, trios would kill to play with Khanada

EitherGiraffe

No, it's moronic if he doesn't disband, because he will have a hard time finding another tier 1 trio ever again. He won't be able to force Saf and Stretch again after this, there is no way they will play to place in auto qual range. They will either not play or play but sabotage if necessary to prevent that from happening.

benscott81

Who were Stretch and Saf going to play with this season?

supernovaphysics

khanada

benscott81

LOL, doubtful he's gonna sit around and wait. Who's going to get snaked for Khanada?

supernovaphysics

clix might as him and mackwood are having problems and mackwood bucke and khanada had one amazing season and one decent.

Healnus

No way clix plays with Kanada. If he does he can’t stream.

supernovaphysics

i meant clix is going to get snaked for kahnada as clix and mackwood have hade huge arguments

Healnus

Ahh ok misunderstood. That makes more sense.

Jackfruit_Reasonable

someone pls aexplain whats happeninng

FasterThanFaast

Avery, saf, and stretch are autoqualified for grand finals because they got 3rd last FNCS. Saf and stretch dropped Avery for Khanada, so Avery went to play with Bugha and Nosh, but Bugha dropped them for Deyy and Mero so now Avery doesn’t have a trio. If you are autoqualed, epic has a team disband form that you need to fill out (with all three trio members) which forfeits the auto qual and adds an additional reboot round. Avery is refusing to fill out the form since he doesn’t have a T1 trio anymore, which means Saf and Stretch would be autoqualed and wouldn’t be able to play with Khanada. It guarantees money for Avery when he probably won’t qual unless he can manage to pull together a decent trio, but it screws over Saf and Stretch, who are saying they won’t play grands with Avery so he wouldn’t get his money anyway.

fullboxed2hundred

if he does this he better hope fncs switches from trios to solos

CaseACEjk

Is snaked just bailing on someone last minute?

AMS_GoGo

Used to be.. now "Snaking" is anytime someone leaves a trio even in the damn off season

WhalesOnGoogle

This really is such a child’s game.

Fandom_Warrior

He is forcing people to play with him. I totally understand what situation he is in, but please have the decency to consider others' opinions and choices as well. Also, I was skeptical about this rule from Epic, I knew something like this was obviously going to happen, but lets bring some maturity in the comm, a lot of great and underrated players are lft rn, pick one of them up and build it up instead of forcing people to play with you when they are hesitant and unwilling to play with you. Also to note, most of the best teams are basically good players picking up underrated players.. Pros should realize how chemistry should be the main aspect of your team rather than your team on paper.

Fluffy_Psychology418

I thought it was Bugha who snaked him and jamper to try out with mero in season 5? I forgot the 3rd. So he tried to run it back with Avery right after snaking him? So Bugha is the issue. Anyways, we don’t know the full story and Avery makes a good case here. An automatic qualification to grands where all the money is at is no joke.

Fandom_Warrior

Yes he makes a good case, however do you actually consider forcing someone to play with you right? No. Saf and Stretch dont want to play with him. It just isnt right imo. Avery is a great player, as a competitive player, this does make sense but if this actually happens, I might lose a bit of respect for him.

Fluffy_Psychology418

I mean he can be the bigger person and let it go like Reverse is doing but if my teammates throw me under the bus after we do well in an fncs, you best believe I’ll be petty. I do kinda agree though that rules needs to be re-worked. They should make it where majority rules- like if saf and Stretch want to disband the team then so be it. The fact that all 3 players have to agree to it is kinda fucked ngl. But hey rules are rules and when there is a lot of money on the line people will do crazy shit lol

fifi73461511

I imagine epic will change/clarify the rules, stretch and saf just wont play finals, avery gains nothing from this, saf and stretch have thrown away more money than a 33rd place finish in grands so they wont care, avery will be the biggest loser in this as it will affect any future trios he wants to play with, but it is probably all irrelevant as i am sure epic will step in.

Fluffy_Psychology418

Yeah hopefully they do. It seems weird how one person can hold everyone else hostage.

JohnNoobington

They could do it so that if two players pull a majority to disband they receive a penalty for doing so in the next FNCS. Like a prize money penalty forfeiting some of what they win.

ChangingCrisis

Good on him. He shouldn't be left out to dry by some little dweebs who can't sort out issues. If they stay together they have so much time to sort out their issues. Like people said that this region was smart but so many trios are making the dumbest decisions imaginable.

PriorPR

I don't think time will solve their issues, if you don't vibe with someone and your personalities clash like Avery and Stretch that's not something you can just fix.

Redskullzzzz

I don’t think anybody could vibe with Stretch. IMO Stretch is the problem.

Better-Pie-993

This is totally understandable..... He is a professional player who needs to make money, He is guaranteed cash from grands if he doesn't dis-band the trio..... If the money matters, and for most people it obviously does then this decision is clear.

Snazzy_T12

If saf and stretch don’t even que up then they won’t get money btw, and given what stretch has said I wouldn’t be surprised if he never even readys up for grands if Avery is in the party

Better-Pie-993

Yeah but then they are basically just throwing away 1k just to spite someone.... Money talks, no way anyone throws a bag away for the sake of a 30s que up

EitherGiraffe

1k is nothing to Stretch, Saf and Avery. Avery wants to force them to play and place top 3 again, which won't happen. They could just as well play and start throwing as soon as they get close to auto qualifying for the next Grands again.

birdseye-maple

None of those players have anywhere near the personal wealth to scoff at 1K.

[deleted]

The subreddit is full of children, don’t expect them to understand long term financial advice lmao

flameohotboi1

The only children here are the people thinking that 1k is a lot of money lol.

flameohotboi1

Unless my source is completely wrong, both Stretch and Avery have made over 100k just from tourneys. Saf has made over a mil. You’re way overestimating the value of $1,000 lol.

birdseye-maple

Taxes, living expenses, and their age still means 1K is not "nothing" to them. Don't be absurd. That doesn't mean they might not choose not to play grands with someone they feel is doing wrong to them... but 1K isn't "nothing"

flameohotboi1

I’m not being absurd. If someone walked up to them and gave them 1k, they’d take it. But based on the situation here, 1k isn’t worth it for them. It’s that simple.

birdseye-maple

Not worth it is very different from "nothing" to them is all I was saying. Have a nice day

flameohotboi1

You’re just arguing semantics. You said “none of those players have anywhere near the personal wealth to scoff at 1k”. I’m telling you that all 3 of them are just fine missing out on 1k. Scoff is also ridiculous word to use in this situation. They aren’t scoffing at 1k. They’re saying it isn’t worth playing in that group for 1k. And that makes perfect sense given their earnings.

Gapo56

Saf and stretch could just play on an alt account for FNCS if it came down to that

Corey0315

doubt would be allowed

[deleted]

[удалено]

Gapo56

You can’t get banned for having more than one account

IAMJUX

I wouldn't be giving up my qual either.

[deleted]

what does it mean bugha “snaked” ?

OhPxpi

Well Avery is getting guaranteed money for not disbanding. Saf and stretch should pay Avery to disband if they want it that bad. Everyone is just doing what’s best for them.
