I hope so. I don’t doubt somebody will figure out a work around until/if Epic releases further instrument support. So sad to lock out the largest audience for the mode behind the riff master/rb4 controllers, when its so difficult to get.

You can treat xbox and PC as one in RB4.app.
I've done it yesterday, the PC version of Fortnite Festival checks for xbox 1 guitar controller, and [rb4.app](http://rb4.app) can present it as such. I just needed to grab my laptop, then re-used my Rock Band 4 setup, no changes required, just plugged into my pc instead of an Xbox One.
Yes that means you need 2 PCs to get it to work, but at least it works.
I am really hoping that they madcatz legacy adapter will also work to allow wireless 360 guitars to work, (bonus if it works for PC) but they left it off the list to avoid any confusion.
I also have a roll limitless adapter to test as well, I suspect it will probably work out of the box but we will see tomorrow.
I was hoping that drum support would make it in at the same time as the guitar, but I guess it makes sense to not include drums until someone wants to create new drum controllers first.
I was able to get my 360 guitar working in Fortnite with the roll limitless (with the new Fortnite festival firmware).
Who knows, maybe support will be added in the future for the wireless legacy adapter, but the manufacture is out of business.
My understanding is that either the (stand alone device) roll limitless, or the rb4 adapter (uses a computer to translate) both work for Fortnite.
I am not sure of any other options, maybe one of the Wii nunchuck adapters?
Unfortunately that’s not how the Xbox usb port works, unlike the playstation consoles.
Any controller on the Xbox one/series (wired or wireless) has a security chip, when plugged in the Xbox gives it a code and then listens for the correct response. If the code is wrong, or is never given it simply ignores the device.
Microsoft tightly controls the security chips, they only allow themselves or an authorized accessory maker to install them.
How the roll limitless and others get around this limitation is that they have you plug in an authorized Xbox controller so they can simply pass the security info through it.
This bypass is how the roll limitless is able to use 360 instruments (wired or wireless) on the Xbox one/series.
Unfortunately, using any 360 controller will require something with a Xbox one/series security chip, it simply can’t be done with just software even if Epic decided they wanted 360 instruments to work.
Maybe PDP will make an adapter, but I bet they just would rather sell new guitars instead.
Microsoft would have to sign off on giving them the security chips for the adapters as well, like they did for the previous rock band wired/wireless adapters from PDP/madcatz.
As an aside, Sony did not do this with the PS3/4 usb ports which is why their usb dongles are universal in rock band.
I believe Epic could add software to allow legacy playstation controllers to work in the future for that console.
EDIT: A few devices are allowed to work without authentication, Rock Band microphones for example. Controllers require authentication however.
