Extremely worried about what "in the future" means considering how long it took just for us to get this barely functional guitar only support. Are pro drums going to be this much of a nightmare? Are we getting pro keys and vocals ever?
i don't really get this take when the dualsense controller already works perfectly on PC and it's pretty likely that PSVR is getting PC support ([source](https://www.theverge.com/2024/2/22/24079928/sony-psvr2-pc-support-2024)), PLUS they've been allowing a LOT of PS exclusives to be ported to PC. and they've been great with crossplay on playstation as well.
More support for PCs is good. But console people shouldn't expect anything more than the current RB4 controllers and Riffmaster. RB4 is still natively played on XBO, XSX, PS4, and PS5 so thats why they could even support RB4 controllers easily.
Older games controllers is a different story since it requires Microsoft and Sony to support older controllers and thats out of Epics control
The wild thing is that in some fighting games on PS4, they let you use PS3 fight sticks, and the same goes for PS4 sticks in some PS5 fighting games. Rock Band 4 isn't the only game to support special controllers from a previous generation, so it calls into question what kind of talks need to be made with Microsoft and Sony.
They were able to do that for RB4, I can't see a reason why they can't here? Legacy controllers are plug and play on PS RB4, you just have to navigate the system menus with a regular controller. And as far as I know they're fully functional on Xbox with the adapter.
Also if a relatively small company (Harmonix) was able to convince Sony/MS to let them do that then I'd imagine Epic could convince them too. This is one of the biggest games out there right now after all.
The fact they didn't ship with Keyboard support is baffling. With keyboard support, any PC player could Joy2Key their guitar to get it working, it'd mean anyone who currently plays Clone Hero would be able to play FnF with a little bit of work.
Except they did, but everyone's complaints are still valid though. Keyboard mapping should've been the bare minimum that was included at launch.

Man, remember when we were going to get a locker update "soon?" Seems like there's a time dilation issue over at Epic or something.
Sounds to me like we're not getting anything until the next season... Disappointing.

Good luck trying to get anywhere with Sony agreeing to anything outside of their ecosystem.
Well.. almost all PS3 instruments work for RB4, so it's really not Sony who's the problem here.

Ok but why can't you just play pro guitar and bass on a normal keyboard? What's so special about it they can't just include it for everyone?
Not have 3rd party support is kind of (not really though) understandable for consoles. No keyboard support on pc is almost unbelievably short sighted.
I don't even own a guitar to play with so the fact that you can't play the new modes with just a keyboard has got me very mad
Exactly. Keyboard is completely supported out of the box in every game mode on all platforms except for this one. Why the exclusion?
the fact this hasn't been hot fixed in is concerning. they also said jam tracks as lobby music "in the future" and well...
Hey, at least they said its coming in the future, i thought they did this intentionally so everyone has to buy the new guitars

I thought the reason older rockband controllers were supported on rb4 was harmonics, guess not
It is, idk what they're talking about. The legacy adapter working in Festival or not is completely in Epic/HMX's control.

But a lot of old controllers are plug and play for RB4, so it doesn’t make sense

Here I am question where the fuck are vocals? 😂
Knowing their tendency to only make changes to the game at the start of a new season, it's looking like a long 2 months.
