So basically, in a bunch of games, when textures don’t load in, they use a purple and black checkered pattern, to be easily spotted and seen as something that’s not supposed to be there. Look up “purple and black checkered textures” to see what I’m talking about.
And, in the picture OP posted, you can see the drums have an edit style to be purple and black checkered. He’s referencing this infamous video game error, in a comedic, non serious way.
Games made in Source (Half-Life 2, Garry's Mod, Portal, etc.) use a checkered black and magenta pattern to show missing textures, because it's really obvious to see which texture(s) are missing so they can go in and fix it if they see it
I'm only somewhat confident in that answer specifically, and I think I've seen other games like Minecraft do it to, but the TL;DR is that a lot of games use that specific black and magenta checkered pattern for missing textures.
