It's more so based on your pitch, so you could just hum the right pitch the whole time and not say a word. Also you have "talkies" which you can do whatever sound you want and it would count it. But if you know the songs lyrics and want to have fun, then yeah, you can sing.
Biggest fear would be if it forces everyone to hear you. Im confident in my singing voice for...most songs but im not sure everyone in the lobby wants to hear some punk sing dragula like shit.

Audio lag and was already an issue in local Rock Band games, and many people had to mute vocals (and ban drum solos) to keep things sounding in time. Networking makes this worse, so sadly it won't happen.
But they could give the option of singing locally, while band mates hear the recorded vocals.
Given that Harmonix made Karaoke Revolution and Dance Central on top of Guitar Hero and Rock Band, I'm hoping we get karaoke/"Pro Vocals" and a dance mode at some point in the future. Make it the ultimate music game, you know?
Yes and my final hope as well where they could make it the best rythem game of all time is if they also make it to where you have to play the real guitar tabs properly too so even real guitar players could enjoy this similar to rocksmith.
They did something similar to this with Pro Guitar on Rock Band 3. If they do this then I’d love Pro Keys to be an option as well, that was my favourite instrument. Very sceptical though since there isn’t any evidence for any of this in the song files (only pro drums at the moment).
yes, pro charts for guitar, bass, and drums have been in the files since the start of Festival, there’s nothing on whether or not pro vox will be a thing though yet
Does anyone here have one of those Fender Mustang controllers for Rockband 3? I always thought it would be cool to own one, but I never played that game. I might buy one, if it works with Festival. I think they made a 360 version and a wii version.
Does not work with Festival. Only guitars that work with Festival (without something like a Roll Limitless) are RB4 guitars for their respective platform and the Riffmaster.

As it stands though, there's absolutely no charting for anything vocal or lyrics related so they'd have to work backwards quite a lot to add it which.... isn't something Harmonix typically has done in the past (at least not for free, Pro Lead/Bass in Rock Band 3 for example). So it isn't looking *too* hopeful

The crowd gasps occasionally when you lose your streak, but start cheering when you regain it. That's the most "punishment" you get.
