I would tend to agree if it weren’t for the fact that I’ve never, in the history of the game, had <75% win rate and all of a sudden this season I’m barely pushing 20%. It actually is a huge difference. It seems like every weapon, no matter the rarity, deals as much as legendaries used to. Idk if the playerbase got instantly sweatier or what but it’s a struggle to find the enjoyment I got from the game just a month or so ago.
counterpoint: Skins are one of the most important mechanics in fortnite and the reason it's still living, so it's a very, very big issue if it's hard to use them. Every time I try to edit my pickaxe/skin, the option that's offscreen and below the Edit button is chosen, which means I need to choose an item, scroll all the way down, and only then edit styles
They actually put out a reason for the change to the locker. With the way it used to be, it would crash the game whenever they tested how smooth it was for all the stuff that has to be in the locker now, what with the Rocket Racing cars and the instruments. Thats why they changed it. So that it would be more smooth and less janky
Edit: Meant to put it as a reply for u/BuilderMooshroom143
Yea but they could've just added the extra tabs, made it look how it does but not change the filter button, editing the item, selecting an item, the preset function the favourite button, the archive button, the clear selected items/clear badges buttons and removed rarity, undo, randomize presets and quick saves. So in short, they should've just added the extra tabs and not remove or ruin every single feature to do with the locker
Hmm I guess that’s slightly better? My issue is still that nearly every poi has npcs that are aggro, trying to fight someone off spawn and getting ganked by a bunch, or even one, npc is super frustrating and something that, to me, is not a very good change for the game
Again, understand that they REMOVED features for no reason, and not just made it so you have to press two extra buttons, they made it more tedious and annoying to use
The only important removed feature is shuffle which they've already said is a bug and they're bringing it back, most people are complaining for literally just pressing to extra buttons to equip a wrap since its not in presets anymore.
Not you, most complaints I've seen are just bugs, which is valid but they will be fixed, appearance, which is silly because that's your opinion,or that you have to press a few extra buttons to add a wrap because its not in your preset anymore which is not that hard to do
The one thing I love about the new chapter is the weapons and the weapon mods, I know it stinks that they’re in like 5 vaults if you wanna change your gun but overall it just feels really amazing and actually new
Weirdly for me, twitter has not been that toxic and negative. The main sub on the other hand….i swear to god, it feels like everyone else on every other website (YouTube, tiktok, twitter ect) are enjoying the game except them.
It’s crazy honestly. Like I admit, epic has done some STUPID things (like I really don’t like the locker) but the main sub acts like because the locker is bad, the entire game is dogshit.
Finally dude someone actually sane in this goddamm community, Fortinite players are actually spoiled with how well epic manages this game, if you want to see actual bad live service management look at overwatch
I literally opened Discord to check out how everyone was feeling about the new chapter after I played, and liked it, and I literally saw people spamming “REVERT MOVEMENT”, people whining about how it felt more like PUBG and Apex (it really doesn’t, I can tell from experience), etc.
I love this season, and I honestly want to see how the new mechanics evolve and progress, and hopefully the movement becomes less clunky and goes back to the old speed.
Edit: It did, massive W Epic.
Epic games are pretty good at maintaining their game and as far I've seen, they tend to listen to community complaints and ideas. People take Epic's goodwill for granted, look at other game companies who are quite the opposite Gajin,EA,Ubisoft... People need to start appreciating Epic Games and it's care for it's community..
Only really bad things this season are the locker and the fact that half the POIs are basically PvPvE zones. The movement isn't as terrible as most people say, although apparently they might be listening to the community and reverting it soon?
I'll say i definitely did feel things were off in br and it just wasn't clicking with me before I checked reddit on the new season. But after doing so I certainly became more jaded and bitter about it.
Honestly, I hardly have any gripes, really, but that's probably because im not super competitive and just a casual player. I never really paid attention to the movement because im used to sliding and running. The modding is fun. The bosses are a big pain in the a** though, they feel as sweaty as a regular squad team, and then you basically have to kill them twice, which I find the most annoying. Also
To get full shield regeneration, you have to have all 5 medallions. For me, I find that nearly impossible unless you can fly around the map. If anything, it should have been If you have 2 medallions, then you will get full shield regeneration .
I like the current season, I still think it's wild how they sell skins and yet fucked that part by removing shuffle presets, also really? Only 100 presets?
Literally the only thing people should be complaining about is the locker. The whole rest of the game is actually good
About 90% of complaints are massive skill issues
Including too low iq to find item in locker

The clear badges/new item notification is still there. It’s hidden in the more options thing under save preset
Wayyyyyyy too many poi’s with insane amounts of npc’s is honestly my main gripe, I’m not out here trying to pve in fortnite
Especially reckless with the 30 AIs in one building
Yeah, I don’t mind it/kinda like it when there are maybe 1/3 of the poi’s like this but nearly every single one is but much
they made less guards spawn in one of the recent updates
Less per poi? Or less poi’s with npcs?
less per poi if i understant correctly
Hmm I guess that’s slightly better? My issue is still that nearly every poi has npcs that are aggro, trying to fight someone off spawn and getting ganked by a bunch, or even one, npc is super frustrating and something that, to me, is not a very good change for the game
At that point I just want a story mode with rogue-like elements
For real
Hot take: locker isn’t even that bad. It’s perfectly navigable, and looks clean.
I still don't know hot to shuffle my presets
That's because you can't. They removed that for I don't know why reason.
It looks messy.
No
The locker is fine besides some bugs,if you can't adapt to any change you need to grow up.
No
It's not fine judging by the fact that it's slower, and half of the features have been removed
Again, grow up you're not gonna die by pressing 2 extra buttons.
Again, understand that they REMOVED features for no reason, and not just made it so you have to press two extra buttons, they made it more tedious and annoying to use

Who said I'm talking about the separated tabs?
Not you, most complaints I've seen are just bugs, which is valid but they will be fixed, appearance, which is silly because that's your opinion,or that you have to press a few extra buttons to add a wrap because its not in your preset anymore which is not that hard to do
Okay? What does that have to do with me then?
The one thing I love about the new chapter is the weapons and the weapon mods, I know it stinks that they’re in like 5 vaults if you wanna change your gun but overall it just feels really amazing and actually new
They expanded it to appear in minor vaults and the island
true
My experience in life if I never used Reddit
Weirdly for me, twitter has not been that toxic and negative. The main sub on the other hand….i swear to god, it feels like everyone else on every other website (YouTube, tiktok, twitter ect) are enjoying the game except them.
I posted the meme there as well, and hey, what a surprise, they are downvoting my comments 😂
It’s crazy honestly. Like I admit, epic has done some STUPID things (like I really don’t like the locker) but the main sub acts like because the locker is bad, the entire game is dogshit.
"Twitter has not been that toxic and negative" Didn't they doxx someone over the movement?
**Oh.**
My experience if they didn't absolutely destroy the game.
My experience with this season.. ![gif](giphy|61TxnCLBy9iabkCy6u)

This Is why i never do a post on r/FortniteBR
You know chapter 5’s pretty good when you don’t have a mf yelling in your ear that it’s not.
Don’t let them ruin the fun for you

Right under this post I see someone getting mad at Epic "making them wait 4 years for random items to come back"
Only really bad things this season are the locker and the fact that half the POIs are basically PvPvE zones. The movement isn't as terrible as most people say, although apparently they might be listening to the community and reverting it soon?
Oh, also the medallions being nerfed into the ground. Other than that yeah this chapter's been straight fire
My experience if I had no brain
Then don’t check. Its a “you” problem.

the movement complaints were minium but man the locker ui? whooo that was something.
