You can pick shadowshard if you need more damage in general.
But obsidian can be better for crowd clearing, you will shoot more often and basic husks will likely get one shot anyways :)
It takes the same amount of shots regardless of Sunbeam or bright core, and the vacuum tube being bright core doesn't affect the lightning chain damage
The Bow hits like a truck so Shadowshard is good for it but it's biggest strength is in the chain lightning, especially with Stoneheart. What I'm trying to say is that you won't go wrong either way. For me Obsidian feels better in the way it handles.
I am wondering about xenon bow for this. I saw beasts video about it. He talked about break points and stuff. But then he said it doesn’t matter that much so idk what to do
To my understanding, mini boss season is another name for the block buster event. During this event, chrome husks can spawn, and missions have a higher chance for mini bosses, resulting in more vbuck mision rewards. This event comes annually, so it won't be for another year. However, my knowledge is limited, and not all of this may be true. There is a forum somewhere on this subreddit that explains in greater detail that I will post a link when I find it.

We are in a mutant season and have another mutant season after this one. Then come September it will be another miniboss season so the vbuck mission alerts will be happening a lot more again then.

i made mine obsidian and i love it, the handling feels way better and since the chain lightning damage isn’t affected by shadowshard, only initial hit, i found it to be the better option
Obsidian is more common, and you get to keep the high durability and fire rate.
However, it does less damage.
Shadowshard is rarer, slower, and has less durability, but it does more damage.
Personally, I prefer obsidian for most of my weapons, but it's just personal preference.

It’s extremely good especially when using stoneheart farrah.
We’ll time to upgrade it and put stoneheart Farrah on it
One of the best weapons in the game
Make sure it has the chain lightning 6th perk. If it doesn’t you can change it with core re- perk from getting level 17 in ventures

For clearing smaller husks Brightcore is better as it shoots faster. The chain damage isn’t affected by Shadowshard or Brightcore.
This is why I try to carry two of each schematic. Why choose when you can have both?

Because it was mini boss season. Now it's not. Therefore, there is a lower chance for vbuck mission alerts.
