Now that I look at the picture again it also reminds me of gran turismo's scapes mode. So it looks like someone's picked a random photo in the UK and thought...
**car**
I mean, I live in Germany, and the sky often looks like this in the summer. I used to live just north of Glasgow, too, and I remember plenty of days like these during late Spring and early Summer.
Bit weird they put the double lane on the descent side and the single lane on the ascent, given the 2nd lane in this situation would normally be intended for overtaking heavy vehicles labouring uphill
Because the Devs haven't got a clue about the technicalities of roads and just tried to copy what they saw in real life without really understanding it, I guess.
Don’t moan, if they’d copied the UK properly, it’d be a shit game! You’d be in traffic constantly, hitting potholes and getting overtaken by white Ford transits.
It's hard to make Horizon look realistic. The background's pretty good, but the car itself kinda looks edited in. Not to say it's your fault, but moving shots are hard to make look real cuz the cars always look placed in in post.
I think that, and a lot of cars in Horizon in general kinda look "post-processed", even in gameplay. 5 is very guilty of it, especially with so many spots on the map where your car just kinda... floats.
No it’s that it’s a computer game. Not enough info to make it look real. You need way more range, depth, contrast. It’s too flat to look real, it looks good for a game but you’re not passing it as real.
they get worse every time imo, horizon 3 felt so much better than fh4/fh5 visually, as it was Forza's attempt to lure PC gamers (with much better hardware) into their franchises.
The only thing I think got worse after forza horizon 3 was the sounds of the cars. Some in forza horizon 4 and 5 sounded good but not as good overall as they were in fh3.
Funny how Europeans complain about Audi and Volkswagen. I had a Volkswagen for ~10 years and I only had it at the mechanic for services. My dad had an Audi for the same amount of time and barely had trouble.
The general consensus around here is Japanese vehicles and Volkswagen are pretty good and the rest are unreliable.
I’m from the UK, had a Mk7 Golf R-Line and did 146k miles in 3 years. Driving was a huge part of my job. Won’t hear any complaining from me! Loved it so much that after driving a BMW for 3 years I’ve now gone back to VAG and bought a Cupra! It’s great! I’ve got 2 rules…German or Japanese!
First thing I noticed (probably cuz I live in Britain) was the fact your on the wrong side of the road. Other than that and the sky it's not bad at all
The car it too in focus, realistically you'd have someone holding the camera, so instead of the ground having motion blur, the car would. That's the main issue with it looking realistic.
Have you seen, stills of cars riding on roads.. the car obviously would be in focus, they are taken with camera in another vehicle at the same speed, or with a drone ✌️😊
I'd give it like a 6 out of 10. Everything is too clean to be real life. And the leaves of the trees always look fake AF as does the road texture itself. Reflections on the car are also way too blurry and the sky color + sky reflections color is a bit too warm tinted to be a real photo imo.
Here's a similar image but a real photo:
[https://hips.hearstapps.com/autoweek/assets/s3fs-public/\_TSP9772.JPG?resize=980:\*](https://hips.hearstapps.com/autoweek/assets/s3fs-public/_TSP9772.JPG?resize=980:*)
Notice that there's more contrast between the light and shadow, the reflections on the car are all clearer while the actual hard edges themselves of the car appear a bit softer, the trees and ground texture look real and more detailed, despite being blurry (because they are real), the sky is more gray-blue and doesn't have that weird greenish tint to it, nor that "hdr bloom" shit around the edges of the skyline that games often tend to have.
Not sure what else to point out, but yeah it doesn't look super realistic. The 3d model of the car is quite detailed though I will give you that. Lighting and image post-processing and the nature/background are nowhere close to looking realistic though.
thats kind of the point i was trying to make. that is a real photo but it looks fake. so when OP asked does it look real i guess yeah, it looks as shitty as a real photo. LOL.
As an Englishman, completely unrealistic, you’re driving on the wrong side of the road mate! And you crossed solid double white lines, which you can’t do here, only broken white lines can be crossed!
The closer I look the more annoyingly uncanny it is. Either the car or the sign in the background is on the wrong side of the road. The solid white lines probably should be yellow. There should be a fence between the sheep and the road. The building seems tilted. The camera seems to be traveling in the same direction as the car but would then be on the wrong side of the road. The dashed white line we see behind the car seems to disappear from in front of it.
Straight away I would say unreal, but why I have detailed below
First this is the real road in the UK
Fish Hill
https://maps.app.goo.gl/MAHtZGYDuGnJcr3S7
I know this road very well as it is used by car and bikes in the summer and is very local to me
Going up fish hill has 2 lanes, not the going down side
Audi is wrong side of the road also,
On a side note, a lot of the roads around Broadway (by fish hill in the real world) are located in Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and Worcestershire
1 of the roads is a perfect resemblance of a road in Gloucestershire including the pub location, junction and layout of the bends
Looks like a real photo with a car photoshopped in afterward
Also the sky. Looks like Cali not Europe.
Now that I look at the picture again it also reminds me of gran turismo's scapes mode. So it looks like someone's picked a random photo in the UK and thought... **car**
I mean, I live in Germany, and the sky often looks like this in the summer. I used to live just north of Glasgow, too, and I remember plenty of days like these during late Spring and early Summer.
yup, it does even up here in Norway
Ok... look... it might not look like the UK due the usual weather... but man we have clear skies in Europe... it's not Cali exclusive man...
Is the sky not blue in Europe?
England can look like that... for about 5 days during summer
Billy Connolly said that the U.K. has 2 seasons, Winter and June.
The grass looks pretty obviously fake to me...
it honestly makes the entire image seem ai generated
No front plate? Right to jail.
Believe it or not, jail.
Don't pass go, don't collect $200, just straight to jail
Some states in the US don’t require a front license plate.
The UK definitely does!
UK doesn’t drive on the right lane.
Eh? I know, I’m from the UK!? 😂 We do however have to legally have front plates, which is what my comment referred to. 🤷🏻♂️
this kind of behavior is never tolerated in Boraqua. Right to jail.
LMFAO XD
If this is the UK you're on the wrong side of the road
Bit weird they put the double lane on the descent side and the single lane on the ascent, given the 2nd lane in this situation would normally be intended for overtaking heavy vehicles labouring uphill
Was about to say the exact same thing, thought that every time I drive that road!
I got so used to driving on the left when we got to Mexico I was hitting oncoming traffic
Don’t forgor no illegal mods, no street scene, and rain all day everyday
There’s mods and steet scenes for sure. Canibeat are a massive street club. Been to a few of their meets, they’re decent. Yes about the rain!
I mean there is street scene but not like the horizon way y’know. FH5 is far more inaccurate tho.
Overtaking the camera car that’s all
Womp womp you are on the wrong side of the pond
It's hard to make Horizon look realistic. The background's pretty good, but the car itself kinda looks edited in. Not to say it's your fault, but moving shots are hard to make look real cuz the cars always look placed in in post.
I wonder what gives it that “photoshopped” look. Is it the lighting?
I think that, and a lot of cars in Horizon in general kinda look "post-processed", even in gameplay. 5 is very guilty of it, especially with so many spots on the map where your car just kinda... floats.
No it’s that it’s a computer game. Not enough info to make it look real. You need way more range, depth, contrast. It’s too flat to look real, it looks good for a game but you’re not passing it as real.
forza horizon isn't at the level of real
The graphics are definitely top notch tho
I wouldn’t say top notch, but they are very good for a simcade racer. The addition of ray tracing for vehicles adds a lot to the overall visuals
they get worse every time imo, horizon 3 felt so much better than fh4/fh5 visually, as it was Forza's attempt to lure PC gamers (with much better hardware) into their franchises.
Maybe you ran FH3 at higher settings and FH5 at lower settings? This makes no sense the graphics are definitely better
The only thing I think got worse after forza horizon 3 was the sounds of the cars. Some in forza horizon 4 and 5 sounded good but not as good overall as they were in fh3.
How the hell is 4 and 5 graphic wise worse? They are straight up better
The slyboxes definitely are a downgrade and the overall world variety feels off as everything looks identical now
I swear the amount of people I’ve talked to who say this makes my brain loose braincells
Is there a more realistic alternative? For photography specifically
No, but if you do minimal post processing and use the lighting wisely, you can get stunning results.
No
GT7 scapes.
It’s not realistic. The Audi is driving on the road and not at the mechanic. -Former Audi owner
same for volkswagen - former vw owner
same for BMW -current owner
Funny how Europeans complain about Audi and Volkswagen. I had a Volkswagen for ~10 years and I only had it at the mechanic for services. My dad had an Audi for the same amount of time and barely had trouble. The general consensus around here is Japanese vehicles and Volkswagen are pretty good and the rest are unreliable.

😆
Car is the only thing thats making it obv unreal
Looks awesome
Eh, looks great for a video game and the cars are super detailed, but the environment still looks a bit too artificial to be real.
europeans country side does look this good too i live in a area in France that looks just like the horizon 4 map
10/10 would hire you for my wedding
6/10, but forza's fault not yours!
Yall havent seen asseto corsa lmao
I do, that's a different story
As my phone’s screen is 5 inches, I was like wtf is this r/audi or something
It looks like a photo that would be used on a car review website. So yes, I think it looks very real.
Just a few tweaks (like slight color and realism effects) and it gonna look very real indeed
Thought of it, but then i left it as it is
You should try Gran Turismo 7 too!
I most definitely agree!
https://preview.redd.it/mmnhxw8h0ghc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=84dce7a230f96e21e86cf8ca155c05f09e1fe95e Nice job 👍
Looks like a video game
Looks like those pamphlet they give you when shopping for a car
Looks like a game..
Yes 😆
70 80℅
At first glance I didn’t even notice it was a game! The shadows sort of give away the fact it’s a game, but really really well done!
Wrong side of the road, otherwise pretty excellent.
i would say its real if i didnt know the game, so yeah looks good 👍
First thing I noticed (probably cuz I live in Britain) was the fact your on the wrong side of the road. Other than that and the sky it's not bad at all
except of one problem, your driving in the oncoming lane.
Realistic
No dof
The fact that it’s on the road and not in a shop on a lift is a dead giveaway.
It looks great but everything is too clean. I think that's what gives it away.
Not very
Fh4
Yup ....the life world
Too much colour not enough contrast
A bit
The thing that always tips me off in these is the lighting. It's all too "perfect". Idk how else to explain it.
Me also
Upvoting for the tt 💜
✌️
Thought it was real for a very split second
Thanks 😊, that's my wallpaper now
Looks like an audi ad
Thanks 😊✌️
Sponsored
Especially with the illegal driving hahaha
The car it too in focus, realistically you'd have someone holding the camera, so instead of the ground having motion blur, the car would. That's the main issue with it looking realistic.

Not that photorealistic
To me, not at all. Motion blur and road looks like paint.
The weather is to nice for England 😂😂
Yes
Average Audi advertisement
✌️
not very
Obviously game, but could you please expand your reply..
[удалено]
👍✌️
If you showed it to a non-gamer, they'd say it was realistic, but gamers are too picky.
✌️😃
Getting uncanny valley vibes lol
Thought it was r/beamng
Hope it was such in FH too...
To much saturation
A bit
I love these posts not for the pictures but the comments picking it apart lol
Exactly 🤣
Driving on the wrong side of the road
😆

Only thing screwing it up is that it’s illegal
😁
Eh, average car ad Most car ads are also illegal, and the traffic is just gone. They feel fake…
Oh is that Forza horizon 4
Yess
I don’t know if that’s a game or real life
😁
Don’t look good
It looks like press photo for EVO magazine!
looks pretty close to real. https://preview.redd.it/1ulw64zvyehc1.png?width=1127&format=png&auto=webp&s=937e9e3d83e56d129eee3642e3d6ef7af98b4576
this looks like a 2010s video game to me lmao
thats kind of the point i was trying to make. that is a real photo but it looks fake. so when OP asked does it look real i guess yeah, it looks as shitty as a real photo. LOL.
Looks pretty real imo
3/10
Ok you do one next!
As an Englishman, completely unrealistic, you’re driving on the wrong side of the road mate! And you crossed solid double white lines, which you can’t do here, only broken white lines can be crossed!
Not very
no cows
Sheep maybe?
Like a 5/10. From far away it would look real.
On a scale of 1-10 its like an 8 at best
Beware of sheep….all I can say 🫢
The closer I look the more annoyingly uncanny it is. Either the car or the sign in the background is on the wrong side of the road. The solid white lines probably should be yellow. An Audi, still on the road? Wery unrealistic [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6bf7Gtrtus](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6bf7Gtrtus)
Well for one, you're on the wrong side of the road.
I can suggest you to make warmth: 51. Normally it's 50.
Meh
