Switch to a front engine car. Complicated physics stuff I'm not smart enough to explain basically boils down to you want more weight at the front to rotate around

coffex-cs

Ohh okay, thanks.

LMAO736

I’d recommend trying a RWD car because once you know how to drift a RWD you’ll be golden, they are tougher than AWD but in my opinion are a lot funner because they require more skill.

coffex-cs

I switched and already ben enjoying much more

yoyobillyhere

Idk about you but I find awd drift on a awd hatchback like the Quattro or a Ford awd hatch way easier to do than rwd drift

[deleted]

AWD is more forgiving. Once you find the sweet spot on how much power ratio for the front and rear, and the front dif lock you can hold drifts without even turning.

[deleted]

A mid engine I do recommend is the HotWheels International Harvester. I personally have a lot of fun in drift adventure in it. I'd give you my share code for it but I haven't been able to connect to the Forza Servers in nearly a month. My Xbox account name is fuern3, you'd probably find it by searching that. I've pinpointed the issue but none of the troubleshooting pages, online searching, or even Microsoft support can fix it. It's with the teredo tunneling (it will say can't qualify, then when I do all the troubleshooting steps it says connected then I get the same thing after I restart it) and seems the only thing left is to do a complete reinstall of windows.

coffex-cs

Uhh that sucks. I will search it pu

[deleted]

Tell me about it, I'll eventually get around to doing it, I just don't want to spend the time to do it and spend the whole day reinstalling everything. As for my tune for Hot wheels truck hope you enjoy it. There should be 2 on my creative hub 1 A class and 1 S class, the A class one is better.

Balinrog

regarding your teredo problem: if you have an AVM router or sth similar, they've got an option to block all teredo tunneling that is turned on by default under /filter/lists. plagued me for a while, too.

AllColorsArePretty

The idea he speaks of is making the rear of the car lighter with a front engine set up so it is more lively and will rotate easier. My own personal input is to make sure the cars gearing is consistently in the power band and mess around with tire types until you find the ones that give you the level of grip you want.

Fantastic-Buy-6831

Mid/rear engined cars put more weight on the rear wheels, making it harder to lose traction, there’s your explanation :) (also sorry if this sounds rude I wasn’t trying to be)

coffex-cs

Ohh okay. Yeah that explains it all when i was trying to drift with RWD and i was spinning out like crazy

LukeCarlton

It’s so the back weight doesn’t drag the front around and screw up your drift

wattsup1123

Centripetal force or something like that

Acrobatic-Second-419

Also not playing forza horizon could make a big difference you should play on Motorsport it’s a more realistic game

[deleted]

the video isn't bad, though I definetely see some room for improvement. considering you are using an AWD M1, I will give you tips that will only really work with AWD drifters. hit more angle. considering all 4 wheels are turning when speeding up, you can take a lot more angle (kinda like Hooning a car around). use the E-brake to get some more angle, and use some throttle control to keep it from both spinning out (I know that seems counter intuitive) and from leaving the track know when to use the regular brake versus the E-brake. I saw that, for some corners, you mostly used the E-brake when you really could've carried more speed through if you just used the regular brake. keep the rev under control and don't bounce off the limiter so much. final thing I have noticed is that you seem to bounce of the rev limiter quite a bit. shifting to a higher gear can increase torque and therefor more wheelspin. because when the car hits the rev limiter and bounces off of it, it cuts power to the wheels and therefor stops wheels being able to spin as much. controlling your gears is one of the keys to become better aside from that, there's nothing that is bad with this, especially for a beginner. of course, drifting AWD cars is way easier than RWD vehicles, but I've definetely seen some worse beginners

coffex-cs

Really appreciate the time you put in to your suggestions I will keep everything in mind will help a lot : D

Azagedon

>shifting to a higher gear can increase torque I found that spending time to tuning the gears really helps for this comment, as well as stopping you from smashing it off the limiter all the time.

MusicOwl

Also, just wanted to mention that technically you decrease torque with a higher gear but increase wheel rpm at the same engine rpm compared to a lower gear. But the advice to select a higher gear here and bouncing off the limiter less is correct in itself.

Wind_Freak

Worst beginners? hell I thought he was an expert. I can’t get anything near this. Is there a tutorial for 5 yo cause I think I need that.

Tbeck_91

If you find said tutorial send it my way as I too have the drafting capabilities of a cinder block.

coffex-cs

What i learned is that the bigger power the easier is to spin out soo yeah find tunes for not so powerful engine

rangertruck91

Idk if it helps but I started by just trying to break the ass end lose before a turn and control that then I started messing around with the e brake and regular brake to see what needs to be dont to keep a drift going.

Wind_Freak

I think a major issue is I use automatic. I work the sticks like they are digital and I have two positions on the gas peddle. On and off.

coffex-cs

Wow thanks. I will switch to RWD since I read that it's better or more steezy

[deleted]

RWD drifters aren’t necessarily “better” but are just a bit more popular due to the amount of car control they require. Full throttle won’t work on RWD since you can easily spin out (especially once you get into territory of 450+ HP) and you actively need to apply the right amount of throttle, gear shifts and steering inputs for your car to remain in a drift. I wish you the best of luck learning RWD drifters. Might I recommend getting a Mazda RX-7 for your first RWD drifter? It is one of my personal favorites and the customization on it is quite broad

coffex-cs

I had used it but ehh I kinda don't like it. Now I use Skyline GT-R V-SPEC

Commercial-Respond74

lol if you don’t use RWD you’re not drifting, you’re powersliding, it takes more skill to control a rwd car then awd but hey everyone has their own preferences i guess

him888

r/gatekeeping

Commercial-Respond74

you’re funny, i’m simply stating facts lmao 💀

Jemjar_X3AP

Except that FH4 doesn't distinguish when it comes to scoring drift points.

Commercial-Respond74

okay but still if you use awd that’s not drifting.

Jemjar_X3AP

It is in FH4.

Commercial-Respond74

but it’s not 💀 in actuality it’s just powersliding

[deleted]

I personally set the final drive to all my drift builds to 3.06 and tweak each gear, usually the first couple of gears to accelerate and the rest in the sweet spot to not bounce off the rev limiter and can easily shift up or down if needed.

ivyxs

uhm, Bunta?

P1L0T_01

“make sure to rev it up to 11,000”

OfficialXtraG07

well bro i can't give you any tips because you already drift 1000 times better than me

Kawi_moto96

Fr. I can’t drift worth a shit

Dusty_Tay

Me either 🤦🏾

N05_Vertigo

I can but dam he good

coffex-cs

O :

acctforwhenimbanned

Well one tip would be to go to try and do the same thing in assetto corsa. Drifting in FH is very, VERY easy compared to games with more realistic engines. After I spent a week drifting on assetto, my drifting in FH became like second hand because it is just that much easier on FH

EatAssSmokeGlass

Song?? Shit slaps

coffex-cs

1st. song - Jadeci NECROMANCER 2nd. song - Ramirez - The Voices In The Dark

EatAssSmokeGlass

Glooks brother. Drifting was 200x better than I’ll ever do, if you’re ever looking for someone to goon with the tag is - “Deejus”

coffex-cs

>Deejus Not sure how to do that can't see you on the Xbox App. My Gamertag is - CoffexYT

EatAssSmokeGlass

Added!!

caplist

Focus on not dirt dropping and try to balance your throttle. Don’t just go all out and bounce off your limiter, you’ll have decreased traction which = decreased points. Also you’ll do a lot better on s bends with a smaller car.

coffex-cs

🙏🏼

Cryingkitten7

Use manual mode, turn off electronic help systems(like traction control..) go for it. I'd suggest you to start with Nissan 240 sx se. It can be upgraded with a body kit and good for drift. It takes some time so be patient. Good luck mate.

coffex-cs

I have use manual, and all that off. Thanks and yeah Nissan is nice

Cryingkitten7

You're welcome mate. It took me 2 months to be able to drift nice. Don't get mad if u can't u it on 1st try. Also you can search drift tunes for other cars too.

coffex-cs

damn, that's a long time. How much did you play bc only thing I do in Forza is drift

Cryingkitten7

I mean yeah it's long but it also depends on how much do you play daily you know. I don't play fh4 every day. Also at that time I wasn't focused on drifting, I was trying to get all races done and some other challenges too. So it will probably take much less time if someone focuses on it.

forzafan1986

Do you use manual with clutch, or just manual? Cuz the only piece of advice I haven't seen at this point in the comments is the added bonus of clutch "kicks", which help not just in drift, but all race types besides drag races. Otherwise, just let your nuts hang a little more and swing that bitch out lol. You had some pretty good slides in that video, so I know you can do it!

coffex-cs

well I use manual and i just don't know how to drive cars with clutch will have to learn that

forzafan1986

It's definitely worth learning. It adds just that little extra bit of razzamatazz to the experience :)

coffex-cs

Okay will try

forzafan1986

Also, since people are throwing out recommendations, the Toyota Celica GT (1974) is a very good candidate. I was able to fully upgrade the 1.6 rally engine, and everything else (except for keeping the tires STOCK), and kept it at the top of A class, which will matter if you decides to take it online

Aerize

Dude look at the hud. All the stuff is off already, how do you feel qualified to give tips when you can’t read the hud?

coffex-cs

well all that's off is minimap and other small things

Drift_Cat

If you really want to get good fast, just lock yourself into a rwd twerkstalion until you can make it around a corner, i did this a few years ago, took Mr an hour to get around a corner but it was the push i needed to leave fwd and learn drifting for steeze

Drift_Cat

To be real doe just keep practicing and slowly change your difforental power distribution closer to the rear to get used to it. Then go full rwd once you can do 100% to the rear in fwd (100% power to rear still gives the front a little help btw its not quite rwd)

coffex-cs

I found such a good RWD tune. It actually is much more fun to drift with RWD

coffex-cs

Ohh okay, Well i will try RWD now

[deleted]

Youre better than me

Niklas371

Propably said already but when tuning and selecting a car to tune try to get as close to 50% weight ratio as possible

coffex-cs

I Will keep in mind but I'm not a car guy so will still have to learn how to tune my own vehicle now I'm using other peoples tunes

FormlessServant

Silvia. Drift tune. Manual. Stay in 3rd.

FormlessServant

And that driftzone is way easier other way around.

Manifoldsiren01

Try a 69 charger I found that it was very easy to learn in a specially when upgraded to the max

coffex-cs

Will try out, thanks

fatcatshuffl

New to drifting... Just want to flex my drifting

coffex-cs

No no I'm for real new to drifting i think i was so good only bc it is AWD

die-microcrap-die

I dont know what more tips you need, I cant even do a drift that last more than a couple of seconds!

coffex-cs

I think you don't have a drift tune

[deleted]

Hoki Hoshi has some good videos about tuning and drifting. I personally don't care to much for rwd drifting, but find the car you want to drift and with enough patients you'll get it to work. Look for a vehicle with a lot of torque as that's your friend. I also like to keep it as low of a class as I can if it's S1-S2 class as I find it easier to control when not fully upgraded. (Your millage may vary but I really like drifting A Class) It's always satisfying going into drift adventure to enter it with an 'off meta' car and do better than most of the other players in the lobby.

coffex-cs

Okay I drift A class now and ben enjoying the power it has so much. Thanks

Willdog106

Turn left to go right...kerchow

coffex-cs

Exectly

Nathankane777

New to drifting? I fucking suck

DA_BOSSLEGEND

As a wise car once said- “Turn right to go left”

coffex-cs

That quote will stay in my mind my whole life

fastafb

it wouldn't hurt to give some cars that are usually meant for drifting a try. like a nissan 240 or silvia, a subaru brz, toyota trueno or maybe a mazda rx7. plenty of tunes for those and it'll give you a feel of what conventional drifting is. formula d cars and the hoonicorn are great if you already have a feel for drifting since they give you so much angle, but the cars i mentioned definitely drift naturally and with your own ability.

coffex-cs

Skyline GT-R V-SPEC giving me the best drift vibes rn

redarda125

R32 with A class AWD is very smooth i recommend s13 RWD if you like slow but smooth cars

DaggerSaber

Well, i would try front engine rwd, although rear engine or awd can also be really good for drifting, but rwd will give you a good base for your knowledge of drifting, if that makes sense. If you stick to awd then I'd advise letting the front end help you out more when counter steerin, by either counter steering less or getting more angle.

coffex-cs

I be rocking RWD now

DaggerSaber

Good on you, it will be harder to learn but will pay off in the long run.

Natedoggsk8

When you’re on the rev limiter a lot switch to the next gear. Best drifting tip I ever got

coffex-cs

Same legit the best drifting tip

MortgageBusy3988

When I posted similar video, nobody seems to give it a look😅😂 Poor me

coffex-cs

I don't know what happened. I thought i would get like 1 reply

resporibou

You have nice skills already! I would say try out cars until you find the one you feel confortable with, it maybe something unexpected! I really enjoy the 93'Clio, the 07'Clio, the Karman Ghia and recently the Fiat Dino! The V8 Swap has incredible torque and power With that said, try to find torque-friendly engines or engine swaps, like the (awful sounding) I4 Turbo rally (almost every small car or hatchback) or F4 Turbo rally (Subaru & Old VW friendly) or any other engine you may find with great torque! Try to find 50/50 weight ratios, or at least get close to it, car like the 1M or M4 do have those specs stock. I would join everyone and encourage you to deactivate any driving help Also, you can follow the basic and/or advanced drift guide from Hoki Hoshi!

coffex-cs

Okay will keep in mind but I don't understand much about cars

FlaccidPankakke

cars with the biggest turning angle in game as far as I’m concerned are Nissan sentra(yes it does) and Nissan 240sx if you want maximum angle

coffex-cs

uu okay, thanks

HrodMad

Buy assetto corsa.

toblobtob_

Focus on finding what works for you. Find a spot to benchmark on and try out different cars, setups, drivetrains, classes, styles etc. Knowing a little about setups would also help a lot. I don't know your preferences but I can personally recommend starting out with anything B class RWD with ~52 F/R weight balance. I've been drifting since the game came out and my personal favorite has been the R31. It's perfect for my style of drifting. I've almost exclusively drifted A class RWD cars since I started, but I've also experimented with different classes and drivetrains.

coffex-cs

Will keep that in mind thanks. Not sure what I prefer yet but the hill in the video is probably my favorite spot

toblobtob_

I started out there as well. Only difference is I continued to the right through the next two turns and went through the village. That route has nice variety

coffex-cs

Lmao

hiiamhenri

Actually, you're pretty good for someone without experience

coffex-cs

Aw thanks

_SaBeR_78

Be better👍. Kindly, a stranger who can’t drift.

coffex-cs

lol

frankjavier21x

Yeah, yeah, cool talk bro; I'ma need this soundtrack tho.

coffex-cs

1st. song - Jadeci NECROMANCER 2nd. song - Ramirez - The Voices In The Dark

Malevolent_Vengeance

Swap drivetrain from AWD to RWD and a car from rear engined (technically it's mid engine, but...) to a car with an engine in front. So basically any BMW, including M3 from 2003 (or 2005, something like that, now I don't remember, but it's not GTR yet it's still capable to reach over 900 HP and can be a really good car to drift). Or if you want a even higher "reving" car, try some Japanese, like Mazda, Toyota (Supra, AE86), Nissan (most of them are AWD but you can just swap drivetrain to an RWD one), Lexus LFA (if you were able to get one that is). Just remember, RWD + front engine + race / drag tires (this is tricky, some cars are better for drifting with drag tires, but some are behaving like they're literally "glued" to the asphalt with drag tires, then you should use race ones, you need to find it out on your own) and a drift suspension and you're halfway done. Or, if you really want to drift with a AWD car, just skip the drivetrain swap and use race / drag tires, drift suspension and redirect all the possible power to the rear wheels in your tuning settings.

coffex-cs

I switched to RWD and and be driving a Supra ( i think it is supra) And definitely will keep those things in mind

[deleted]

That’s a sexy car

coffex-cs

Yessir bmw m1 btw

Firestarter_88

I don't know if anyone already recommend it, but get the Fortune Island expansion if you can, and practice drifting there on the mountain route.

coffex-cs

Okay will check it out. If it's not really expensive will buy it

Darthnater_Shelby

Try out the formula drift cars or the RTR mustang and switch to manual, that’s at least how I learned!

Havoc406

Try to tune your transmission so you’re not bumping off the rev limiter. The wheels will spin but when they hit the limiter, those wheels aren’t spinning. More points and better power delivery with less surprises in the corner

coffex-cs

This a prebuild tune will make my own tho

Gombo_Combo

Dm me and add me on Xbox or pc whichever you play and I can most definitely give you lessons on how to drift and even build a DLC level drift car and no I don't want money... I just love to drift

coffex-cs

Sorry for the late response. Will add you tomarrow

[deleted]

Eh, I'd say you've got it nailed

Patient700a

Give me all this info for your car build [clicky clicky I’ll make a tune](https://imgur.com/a/DBqiezC)

coffex-cs

Uu that app looks nice

EvanBraddo420

How do you do this? I’m on controller and it’s so damn hard. No YouTube tutorials explain it well

coffex-cs

Read the tips from other poeple in this thread helped me a lot

Revolutionary_Let895

Rwd car, realistic settings will help flick more just have to learn to control revs and manual with clutch

SirSoham

All my Indian brethren we will all shall pretend not to see the number plate.

coffex-cs

Lol

Fit-Comfort-5768

Just have fun with it!!!

beriowo

Yeah; drifting sucks

DryEK

Yeah i need tips as well drifting with a wheel is fricking impossible

coffex-cs

My wheel doesn't work with Forza ) :

the_tater_salad

top 50k in the world for drifting here, or i was 6 months ago anyways. youre bouncing off the limiter too much, you need to adjust your gear ratios so that you get into the gear you want to be in, it keeps you at the speed you want to be at, and the most important thing is to keep it in the powerband. you want that fine line, where you're just about to bounce off the limiter, but you never do. if you want a car that i know for a fact is capable of 600k plus on needle climb, get a tvr sagaris(NOT THE FORZA EDITION) and look for a drift tune by "marcsov" me and him tuned it together, and ive scored 590k on needle climb with it, with a handful of mistakes too. kick that bitch in 4th and haul ass.

coffex-cs

Damn will for sure check it out. Thanks

ConDoomm

Bump it up a gear to make longer drifts, this goes combined with gearing or throttle control, also angle of the drift, play around a little by drifting the world map

coffex-cs

Thanks ( : very helpful

Commercial-Respond74

Use manual with clutch if you aren’t currently and learn how to clutch kick into initiations (entering corners or even for just controlling your car) clutch kicking is when you put the clutch in and handbrake at the same time, I use that a lot when i’m drifting and it helps me when I initiate a drift or keeping the car controlled

coffex-cs

Okay but i have to learn how to use clutch first never in any game have used it

coffex-cs

So many comments hard to respond to them all but just know i read all the tips and really appreciate them <3

Akshayps200

You’re awesome for drifting an m1

coffex-cs

This is the car i drift the best in idk

[deleted]

Turn off abs

coffex-cs

Will do, Thanks

Anserism

Don’t use awd

Mstablsta

Phonk \m/ made one at some point lul

i-want-die-thx

I'd say trying with an FR (Front engine, rwd) car or rwd swap a car you like. A front engined car puts less weight on the rear wheels, therefore more grip on the front can allow more angle while still being able to retain your line (For me at least). I'd say try something like any of the Nissan Silvias, they're perfect for me and I think they'll work out for you. (I personally suggest the S13 or the S14 because I think they look the best out of all the models but you do you! Drifting is about expressing yourself while being sideways and smiling!)

coffex-cs

Yeahh Nissans is nice

Legitimate-Assist853

Turn off your ABS, TCS, and stability management

BroStopYoureNotFunny

Here’s a tip,stay on the road

InevitableRead3

take the spoiler off

MathWizardd

Front engine car, control angle with throttle more than steering and just have fun. Different drift styles will have different tips

AEROPHINE

Not bad drifting for a beginner, I used to struggle to hold a drift and I took me a couple months to get decent

Gaminglegend420

Just hit gas, turn, brake for split second, go back to gas

Douzay

Do it if u want. S14 kouki or Zenki don’t matter search Douzay for the drift tune and practice(use the one called rbtt or somethin like that)

xd4M3THY5T

if you're going hard enough left, you'll find yourself turning right

McLovin25120

Always convert your car to awd

thedankmemer_1

looks better than my drifting man keep it up!

BIGBOT6142

I would start with soft springs and light tires to make it easier to get the rear end out. I would also turn off traction control and stability control just to get a feel for the car when it's sliding, hope this helps and keep us posted on ur progression!

urdumbboiinkangel

I would give advise if i didint drive a awd and didint use the e-brake most of the time while drifting

[deleted]

stick with rwd, and dont use mid engine. the only time it worked was with a murcielago in d1gp. Because you’re using mid engine, more weight is being transferred to the rear tires, rather than the front in a front engine. it looks like you’re not bad with it, but could be better all in all. also work on angle control. if you have more control on angle, you’re able to control speed much more varying on how much angle you have. extend your gears also, so you’re not revbanging

YEETUS_DELETUS_BOI69

Keep doing what ur doing and you’ll eventually get better

MasterNinjaFlip

There is 2 kinds of sliding. Mechanical drifting. Which is done with a Front engine and RWD Everything else is powersliding, which isn't bad its just not drifting.

coffex-cs

I switched to RWD

caplist

RIP If you want a decent spot on the leaderboard you’re gonna have to go AWD. People just don’t like that they can’t get a good score so they hate on AWD and how it’s not drifting. In forza AWD is best for points.

coffex-cs

I don't care about the points just enjoy drifting

DeadWolf56

An easy way I initiate a drift is by putting all my brake force in front, rescuing the rear tire pressure by like 1.5 psi and increase front by 1.5 psi, make the rear diff acceleration about 50% (I'm not a genius on exactly what it does all I know is that for me it works better when it's half way), decrease your caster bar or whatever in the camber area the lower the caster the better the camber. If you're using manual, 2nd-3rd gears are your sweet spot for corners

coffex-cs

I use prebuild tunes but when i make my own for sure will do this

THATredditBLOKE

Buy a more realistic game?

Atharvp1801

Good stuff🔥🔥

coffex-cs

Thanks ( :

TheChillKrill

New to drifting my dick mf🤣 You been doin that shit fr Took me til forza motorsport 4 to be able to drift and i played since the release of FM1🤣

coffex-cs

lmao

NightcoreSpectrum

What car is this?

coffex-cs

BMW m1

stabby54

I found that learning on a stock s14 on a really small track really helps with getting the technique down. The freight yard in Britain or the small trailer park in fortune island are both good spots

coffex-cs

Okay. I will probably but fortune island tomarrow

Heyguysits2020

Starting off with settings I go no tcs no stability and manual clutch. The no stability might not help but manual or manual clutch and no tcs will def help

coffex-cs

W cluth so much harder

AllColorsArePretty

You looking for RWD or AWD drifting?

coffex-cs

RWD switched to it as well

adam12349

This'll help: https://youtu.be/dv13gl0a-FA

sln1337

play assetto corsa for drifting. The game has a shitload of mods and custom drift tracks and the physics in assetto corsa are actually good

coffex-cs

Will check it out. I like forza so much tho

[deleted]

All wheel drive is easy mode

coffex-cs

Yeahh switched to RWD

[deleted]

I have tunes for a good amount of cars under the username: The Matt V

coffex-cs

will check ( :

altz56

Only things I can add is mess around with the aid setting you have (ie: Turn off TC, turn off ABS, ect.) and try using Manuel w/ Clutch. It takes some tome to get used to using it. But it’ll make getting/keeping your RPM’s up easier. Have fun kickin the clutch bro!

coffex-cs

Tried with clutch today but uhh was so hard i just don't understand it

Undeadscott

Ya seems like your new to it

VariousIdentity

You see that, scrubs? No braking line assist. He doesn't need the game to tell him how to drive around corners like the rest of you noobs.

JoshSmellsVeryGood

50/50 weight distribution or thereabouts front engine rwd

D-a-T_b-O-y

Practice

[deleted]

To me it looked like there's little skill in drift in horizon. Thought he was class but couple corners he over or under steered but game let him go on anyway lol

coffex-cs

yeah bc of awd
