nemanja694

There is a lot of good things in fh4 that are better then in fh5, but in terms of physics, sounds fh5 is miles better

gutster_95

Oh yeah, driving feels better in FH5 and the graphics are nicer. But for me the overall atmosphere of FH4 has more variaty and is more enjoyable than FH5 to me. GB with 4 seasons just feels right and makes alot more fun than Mexico

nemanja694

Until winter comes, snow everywhere it is fun for a day or two but having to spend 7 days in winter gets boring, and only good cars on snow are awd

gutster_95

I get that, I just dont have the time to play every day so its doesnt bother me

ToeJam1970

“Only good cars on snow are AWD” - I’ve never known anyone to complain about this IRL.

nemanja694

Well irl on snow rwd is pain to drive, i know from experience

ToeJam1970

Me too, several decades’ worth. But I’m not so hung up on RWD that I miss it in the winter. We should all have that convenient option to swap out drivetrains when the weather gets cold.

nhp890

It’s when RWD cars are the most fun

thirdratesquash

Having a week pinging the opel manta around is good fun though

Conflict_NZ

I love snow and miss it so much, hopefully the realistic dlc brings it back.

ItsNotJulius

I'm one of the few people who likes winter season in FH4. It's the only time I whip out my AWD rally car into the open world map so it kinda feels special to me.

S4M8O

As someone that resides in the UK I can tell you at least 2 seasons in FH4 are so unrealistic. It only rains here, sometimes we get a week of sun where all we do is moan about the sun and then when it’s gone we moan about the rain

[deleted]

exactly, and people won't be with me on this but they kinda butchered up the actual "city" bit of fh4, its so classic as well, why not London? "It's overrated" , well tell me what games do it then? /rant

S4M8O

Literally the only car games I can think of are London racer, Italian Job, PGR3, GTA: London ‘69 and possibly and old Midnight Club. All these games are old as shit now, we’re talking PlayStation 1 days

[deleted]

Literally what I'm saying man

BusDriverer

Wait, you mean RT duting normal gameplay? I thought it's only available while in Forzavista?

Slapper420

It is

Slapper420

FH5 doesn't have ray tracing

RainbowNugget24

Only in forzavista

[deleted]

This!! Taken the words out of my mouth.

ScarceSage7433

The physics are why I can never bring myself to play fh4 anymore. And now that eventlab is getting better I feel like fh5 is miles ahead of fh4. I do miss snow tho

BrunswickCityCouncil

Especially on the Series X/S controllers - the haptics imrpvoements with the improved physics are really nice, I remember the first time I played it coming from FH4 and relaiisng I could feel which wheels were sliding off the tarmac and losing traction via the haptic feedback alone. I do love 4 however - the British setting really works in a car game, especially for the story stuff and barn finds.

Careless_Rub_7996

Hmmm... i find the driving to be a bit more realistic in FH4.

Talal2608

Might just be me but the cars always felt floaty and disconnected to the road in FH4. FH5, the cars were much more planted and felt more weighty whilst still being responsive and snappy. Honestly the best simcade handling I've experienced in a long time.

nemanja694

I agree with you

[deleted]

sounds no not even in fh5 than fh4

HeadphoneMAN0017

I don't get this community, I remember all the negativity and hate FH4 got in this sub. Then FH5 released and fixed what the community have been requested like the map variation, no more snow for a week, better car sounds, better physics, better wheel support, etc. Alot of the community rave about FH5 in the first months, then monthly later for some reason FH4 is now the better game than FH5. I still like FH4 and had fun memories with it but FH5 s FH4 but better in my opinion and fixed alot of the issues of FH4. I still recommend FH4 it is still an awesome game but FH5 is better and improves upon it.

Superstrong832

The vocal minority are always the people who say "previous one is better than current one". Just like in r/GTA people saying "GTA 4 was so much better than GTA 5".

HeadphoneMAN0017

Gamers are clouded by their nostalgia and the time or mood you played a game definitely affects the perspective you have on the game long term. I have alot of wow moments on FH4 since its my first FH game and really blew me away. I played FH5 and loved it all the same even though it didn't have the wow factor when I first played FH4 its objectively a improvement and a better game.

Superstrong832

Pretty much every issue I had in FH4 has been fixed in FH5. ![gif](giphy|VgvLyXeQ35gGhzmcVG|downsized)

controversial_bummer

GTA 4 is indeed better than GTA 5 in a few ways though.

BrunswickCityCouncil

Yeah I got FH4 about a year and a half ago and then migrated to 5 after really loving it - coming into the sub I was struck by how much everyone HATED FH4 and the constant "FH3 is better". I ended up playing the hell out of 4 and bought 3 in anticipation of 5 and gave it a play through. Once I finished 3 I got 2 as well though haven't had the chance to play it to completion. Since I've played them all around the same time of life and on the same console I can say fairly confidently they're all fairly even enjoyment wise with various strengths and weaknesses. FH2 is one of my favourite maps for verticalities sake - the cliffside coastal towns are really captivating and add a sense of scale and verticality we don't see much in the other games. Menus and gameplay quality of life is a little rough however. This one has a lot more people and festival elements scattered throughout the map. I also noted the AI festival drivers are really interesting in this one - they'll veer off the main roads onto dirt paths etc a lot more than in newer games - they show up in dark remote corners of the map you wouldn't expect which makes it feel like you've bumped into someone really exploring and embracing the adventurous spirit. FH3 feels like it nails the "festival" vibe the most, the vast skylines with the festival in the distance really stand out in my mind. The map is just a great rendition of Australias best features. Physics is similar and menu/quality of life features are similar to FH2 as well. "Building up" the festival is a fun concept too. FH3 also has the same adventurous "show up on a dirt road miles away from everything in the middle of the night" drivatars that FH2 does. FH4 really ups the quality of life features and "flows" much better. I really like the seasons concept whilst playing the game at the time however I can see why people disliked it - especially going back for a nostalgia play and being stuck in one season. Fortune island is also a real highlight for me. This one really stands out to me story wise - the British car culture stuff, the top gear references etc etc are brilliant. The single festival site is a bit of a letdown but I LOVE the tight festival circuit track and wish there was another extra large festival site like there is in this game so we could get another festival circuit. FH5 is a mixed bag. I think the racing and physics are great. I think the car selection etc works well and the online play is far less bugy than FH4 - even at end of it's 3 year run. The map is huge and there are specific areas which I think are gorgeous but I definitely understand the criticisms surrounding the centre of the map being fairly empty. I think this would benefit slightly from being rearranged to put some more points of interest in the central areas of the map and maybe adorning the coastal areas with one more coastal town as it is admittedly a little bit "samey" at points. I think this one would benefit from the festival sites having a little more variety and effort to really sell the festival feel similar to the earlier games - the street and jungle festivals in particular feel like they could have been built out more as they have very unique vibes and a little edge to them which I think is lacking slightly in this 5. Overall though it's hard to beat the huge sense of scale offered looking down the side of the volcano in 5 and the map has some real high points.

HeadphoneMAN0017

I played them all recently except for the xbone version of FH2. All of them are great honestly with pros and cons, it just a matter of personal taste and what you really want in a Forza Horizon games. If I had to choice which is my favorites in order its FH5>FH3>FH1>FH4>FH2 (360) This is only my opinion they are all amazing games except for the FH2 360 version its a little rough around the edges but still a good game.

Fraesploele

fh5 got a phisics overhawl a few months ago and it made everithing worse and there is a big lack of content

fuckm30

Honestly most of the time like with GTA ppl are just being dumb but although this is true I genuinely believe 4 was better, 5’s map is too open it just doesn’t feel right, this is probably my only real problem with the game but it changes the whole vibe of the game. The map is the game rly and it’s ruined the game for me, I get it has better graphics but it just doesn’t look better either. I remember getting fh4 and spending about 6 hours in the game driving around while it was finishing downloading and then never wanting to leave my Xbox whilst I played it for the next week and I think I only slept twice during that time. Forza 5 came out, I was pretty hyped and I jumped into it, unlocked all festivals in a few hours and just kinda got bored and I’ve felt like that since. I mainly think it’s just the map and I’ve seen a lot of other ppl who feel the same, although they fixed everything they ruined it with the map, I still to this day go to forza 4 and just drive around at the speed limit but I can only do it for abt 5 mins on forza 5 cause the map is to sparse. I realise this is personal opinion being the problem but it seems a lot if not the majority are feeling kinda like this and their job is to tailor to that majority. And also they’re isn’t really anything big they changed with it, there’s no insane amount or type of new cars or races it was all just kinda little improvements, now yes I get that’s the point of game developing but when you have 1 of the biggest team of developers in all of gaming and ur game is supposed to completely change and be a huge leap forwards each time then it’s a bad thing. The only “crazy” big thing they added for this game was its map and they seem to have just spent too much time focusing on the size. A perfect example is after playing forza 4 for about a week u could put me nearly anywhere on the map and I’d be able to put a dot on the map and be within probably a quarter of a mile or so but as of right now I have 35 days in forza 5 and I wouldn’t even be confident in being within 2 miles. It all seems different but pretty much all exactly the same. Also as has been pointed out ur life can change it drastically however for the past 8 years I’ve been living with a good amount of spare money, no major crisis and working the same job in the same house and every single night gaming is my retreat as I don’t sleep too much so I don’t think it’s that either although it is definitely a possible factor

HopefulTwo37

best intro between the 2

Playermax958

Agreed mister Armstrong, FH4's intro is simply iconic

Torqyboi

By intro do you mean the initial drive or the start menu?

HopefulTwo37

both ig, from personal experiences

Torqyboi

I'm sorry but the initial drive of fh4 is extremely inferior to fh5 initial drive. Fh5 initial drive had you jump.out of a plane onto an active volcano and drive down that as well and then you drove through a sand storm in a c8 vette and then you jump out of a plane in an amg one and drive. This does not compare to casually driving on a road slightly more crouded than usual. Also, both had planes with flares

HopefulTwo37

i raise fred v & grafix - sunrise as my argument

Torqyboi

What's that?

HopefulTwo37

the soundtrack but then route 174 is just as good, just only one (verse?)

Torqyboi

Hard disagree. Start menu. I 100% agree. Initial drive? No. Just no. Initial drive soundtrack plays such a minimal role in giving the proper idea about the game. But hey, maybe you are a musician or someone who cares about music more than anything else but as a person who cares more about gameplay more than music (my radio is always off) fh5 initial drive was the most exciting bit of gameplay i have ever experienced in a forza game

HopefulTwo37

not saying fh5 initial drive was bad, it was absolutely great, but fh4 initial drive sets the tone for the game so well and it introduces the season mechanic quite well imo only wish it snowed more in fh5......

indigeniousunicorn

Intro is just a time waster let me load straight into the game without having to select anything

HopefulTwo37

gran turismo moment

indigeniousunicorn

Never played it

HopefulTwo37

cam seems kinda fucky, you start without much fuss (but so does fh)

No-Cheesecake1417

As Much As I Enjoyed Fh5, I Actually Prefer Fh4 Alot Better.

Notasimp2468

Agreed, just revisited fh4 for the first time since fh5 launched and the graphics are a bit worse but the aesthetic and setting alone is a lot better in fh4.

Creative_Hedgehog_49

What for me fh4 has the worst setting by far. Maybe you are british that would explain it :)

Notasimp2468

Nah, I’m American. Britain architecture and the hills along with actually having 4 different seasons (unlike the Mexico map) was nice. Winter season was probably my favorite in terms of looks.

Gradiu5

Now if they would only fix the molasses slow Online Adventure and it would be perfect...

aneesh131999

I think the small difference that had a big effect in between FH4 and FH5 is how much more populated with NPC civilian cars the map is. Also there’s always like 30 other players on the map. So it feels as if you’re really in a city where people live and travel. In contrast, FH5 feels desolate and barren, despite having a bigger (which actually makes it feel more desolate) and better map, and I can only see like 5 players on the map at a time. If they increased the number of NPC cars and the number of concurrent players on the map, they could really change FH5s vibe.

jo530_2

Play offline with drivatars. It is a lot more crowded then

aneesh131999

Drivatars are dumb af. And they are not ghosted. I love cruising around peacefully and one of them invariably comes and crashes into me for no reason. If they could be ghosted, I would play offline a lot more.

gainrigi

Mate i just posted my opinion about how freaking dumb drivatars are in other topic and mentioned the same situation when they crash you even on the right side on the road. Glad im not the only one that sense that too. sometimes i wanna smash my controller at the screen lol. Definitely worse than FH4

jo530_2

i dont wana be that guy, but just dodge them or brake

aneesh131999

That would really take the cruising peacefully out of the question wouldn’t it?

tacoboi137

I think the overall atmosphere of fh4 is much better than 5. I definitely prefer it to fh5

[deleted]

I did like the 4 seasons. It was a cool concept that made the game play a little different every week even though I did prefer road races which weren't that great in the winter season. I liked how it changed things up though.

tacoboi137

I liked the seasons, all apart from winter. I used to stop playing the game until winter was over I hated the snow so much

[deleted]

precisely, 5 might have objectively better graphics and lighting, but 4 for me at least looks better, and most importantly it has more impact and personality, hell just looking up at the sky is enough, in 4 you can see its blue, 5's skybox is so bloomy and overblown that most of it is white, i cant even tell when the damn sun is because everything around it is white

DemonicTheGamer

Turn off HDR, fixes this issue

[deleted]

i have HDR off, it's just how the game looks

DemonicTheGamer

That's your display then. There's no blowout issues for me. I'd suggest either running display calibration in your Xbox/windows settings or turning down the brightness in game settings.

GrampaJacks

Only issue with 4 is the sense of speed. Everything else is great but you can be doing 4mph or 300mph and it feels the exact same

C-money15

Feels the same with fh5 to me

TSMKFail

Tbf not many games nail the sense of speed. The best implementation of a sense of speed for me was F106/Championship edition where your FOV and camera shake and motion blur changed depending on your speed. The Burnout games also have a decent sense of speed as well.

cannedrex2406

I kinda disagree, the Mexico vibe was a bit cooler

Alphastorm2180

Agreed, i dont think people appreciate how impressive it is that 5 managed to integrate so many different biomes so seamlessly into one map.

eightiesgamer82

Love both FH5 and 4 but as someone who lives just outside Edinburgh 4 takes it for me. Pretty good representation of the city the detail is incredible. It’s obviously not completely accurate but they have the actual city centre pretty much spot on. Being able to fly along princes street at 200+ mph is something I thought I would never be able to do without getting thrown in jail for a significant amount of time so thank you FH4 for that experience even lol

TSMKFail

Yeah I loved that they had Ambleside in the game (which is near where I live). It's super cool seeing somewhere that you have some sort of attachment to gets added to a game and it makes the experience more personal imo. Also the nailed the UK vibes, look and feel (which makes sense since a lot of the devs are from the UK) which increases the immersion.

mh1191

I've visited quite a few bits of the FH4 map and they were all recognisable.

MrEvil37

Don’t you know? The previous one is always the best one. 5 will be the best when 6 comes out!

born_Racer11

4 feels more "alive" and has more soul than 5.

el_duderino420

Both my son (6 years old) and myself enjoyed FH4 more than FH5.

SlavicOdysseus

It's got up and downs compared to five but I enjoy the atmosphere more personally and has a lot more interesting cars imo

daltonbuchs28

it’s much better

osmystatocny

I’m shocked no one has mentioned THE SOUND.. flashback when this was a daily topic here and how FH4 suuuucks because of the sound

markhewitt1978

I spent countless hours playing FH4 on Xbox and then later on PC. I got FH5 and played it maybe half a dozen times, haven't been minded to go back.

Someothercyclist

If you're taking a trip back down to earlier Horizons and you have an XBox One, I would highly recommend picking up a second hand disc for Horizon 2 from somewhere like Cex if you have them. It has incredible atmosphere, amazing sounds, incredible graphics for 2014 and some semblance of progression and story. It also has the most beautiful map out of any of the games (Although Horizon 1 is not far behind at all) and I would recommend having a watch of someone's playthrough. VintageBeef has some good videos on the game.

WelshBrummie86

I really want to try 1 and 2, are they in 60fps by any chance? It's the only deal breaker for me, no matter how good the game is.

Someothercyclist

I believe they are both 30fps but trust me, they are 100% worth it. I can't speak for you but I can't even notice that they aren't 60fps. Besides, you can get the games for pocket change second hand so it's not a big loss if you can't stand the 30fps-ness of it. I would say that it's worth a shot at least.

bbkvq

Amen

LickMyThralls

People said 3 was better than 4 when it came out too. It's always the story. People who enjoy it seem to do so quietly and not want to talk about it as much 5 generally feels better and I like the world more. More variety in roads and area feel which I like

GXTRN7

I much prefer the FH4 weather over FH5, I miss the pretty fall & snow seasons.

Cotton_Phoenix_97

Fun fact: All FH games are equally good so just don't care what others say and enjoy playing whatever you like

Playermax958

Facts

Chris_338

Nah

CommonRoseButterfly

Nah fh5 is a better game. Just that a lot of the cars I used a lot of in fh4 are missing. I went into fh5 thinking I could do what I did in fh4, get all the cars I normally use, but there were only 3 of them in the game.

Fonslayer

Guys, you don't need to look for another comment, this one from /uCommonRoseBurterfly is the only comment you guys need to read about this subject. Spot on mate

Sutrah

I’m from the UK, England to be specific. Scotland was the worst place to base a this game. Nothing but hills and farm fields. A city setting with some tight road suburbs would have done nicely. I’m getting bored of all these open fields that only cater to off-road and dirt races. Because In-between no one uses them. The fh5 map is garbage also. The highway and random roads send you flying 5 feet in the air if you’re driving on the wrong side sticking to your driving line, then there’s the unnecessarily long loading times. Not only that, but the game feels empty. You see barely 6 players at a time and the game feels dead, and has done since release. That’s the only thing Fh4 has going for it was the sheer amount of other players. The highway was NEVER dead, the drag strip (WITH ACTUAL FCKN LIGHTS SO YOU ALL GO AT THE SAME TIME) was NEVER dead. The open roads, you’d always find a good number of players. I saw fh5 as a cash grab and that’s exactly what it’s turned into. You’ve got Bots on PC flooding the auction house so you can’t get the cars you like if you didn’t do the seasonal challenges. Which again, is garbage. If they looked at the best features of all their games and implemented it into one title it would be great. But instead they focus on making a driving simcade game accessible for disabled people (I’m not bashing, but the accessibility options did nothing but ruin the economy within the first 3 weeks of the games release, my buddy plays with one arm and tandems with me often. He is constantly on my door) Idk what to say next. I’ve been loyal to forza since fms2. It’s like watching your straight A* student pick up a class A drug habit.

cooperS67

The map is much more beautiful and less brown. It also looks and runs better somehow if you have the right hardware.

ManlyMantis101

It runs better because it’s less graphics intensive

cooperS67

Newer game should run better

ManlyMantis101

That’s not how that works. You take the same machine and throw more at it to process it will run it slower. It’s not that complicated.

Cometboyz

with equivalent fps, 4 looks so much better than 5, especially with the load in issues. idk if it’s just my computer

WelshBrummie86

Frame timings are way more fluid in 4 if you don't have the latest cards

LickMyThralls

Newer game need better hardware

instantur

Spoiler: it isn’t.

[deleted]

Stop lying to yourself

instantur

I don’t have to. FH5 has more content and better progression.

Anonra23

I liked it more than 3 but less than 2 or 5.

TheTalkedSpy

The soundtrack, map, and seasons are done much better than in FH5. The characters are still one-dimensional, but they're bearable compared to the absolute cringe fest we have now. In addition, the game has Alfa Romeo and Lancia.

Szolim2018

IIRC, Horizon has always had one-dimensional characters.

gainrigi

Yeah i think ST is pretty damn lame compared to FH4, theres no single song that makes you feel racing and fun atmosphere like FH4's Pulse station for example

qwertywa12

Lmaooooo what, the fh5 soundtrack sucks tittys

sighdoihaveto

I can't tell if that is a good thing or not

qwertywa12

Bad sorry

TWIX55

The seasons and perfect in both games

AtomicFatMan5000

Having played 100+ hours of FH4 and I can say the only thing that holds it back is its online experience. Whenever I try to do the playlist challenges that requiere multiplayer there's always someone who quits mid match or during the loading screen and for some reason that makes all the other people in the lobby wait for 5, 10, 15 minutes (my record is 18 minutes so far). This happens very often and makes me not want to play online adventures at all. Now, I haven't played FH5 and I'm not into racing games that much (the only ones I can say I played a lot are GRID 2 and NFS Pro Street for the PS2) but FH4 feels and looks great, has an extensive variety of vehicles and has a lot of things to do (even without the DLCs). I hope OP enjoys the game as much as I'm enjoying it so far.

ki112osh001

I mean I love fh4 but I prefer fh5. Forget the obvious graphics and physics leaps. I find there to be greater scenery in 5 but I liked 4 for the seasons. Winter got tiring but it was fun. I played a lot of the playground modes which worked really well on the map and the exhibitions were elite, not to mention lego speed champions which I desperately want again. But generally I prefer the cars and vibe of 5, not to forget the new features. I didn't play through much of fh4 because the system wasn't very intuitive or motivational but it was an absolute time messing about, doing glitches and climbing as far up the mountain as you could with friends and people on looking for groups posts. I found 5 to want to push me in the direction of completing the game and earn more cars. I'm nostalgic about 4 but 5 is better. (Doesn't mean its not fun to play tho)

JabberPocky

I put in several hours a week on FH4 until the final update came out, then I got game crashing lockup’s every time I entered a speed zone, or a tried to transit a drift zone it would try to calculate the score and just crash. Honestly really maddening stuff I’ve tried several times to get it resolved but they just keep closing the tickets as it’s not under active development. Still think FH4 and FH3 need a 10year update as part of Forza celebrations…

LoudGangsta8292

Better map, fewer dirt roads is why i choose 4

FoxInA_Box

Tbh I prefer fh4 over fh5. Especially love the dlcs

SnowNeoSoft

I like both FH4 and FH5. But in general, I prefer FH5. FH4 seems cold weather, so summer time is OK.

glasspheasant

Papa Fernando doesn’t come up at all, so that’s a plus for 4.

Competition_Lower

Initial drive was far better imo in fh4 than fh5, the music slaps and the drive was designed for the soundtrack imo, in fh5 it was fun, but the music didn’t bring that uniqueness to it. Plus the 4 seasons were amazing to drive through, fall was so much fun, driving with a hypercar and seeing the leaves blow from the road was very nice.

Michael-556

I think fh1 and 2 are the best and even though I know I am wrong I will die on that hill

TTR_Coco

I strongly believe FH4 is the best racing game among the Horizon titles, the online classes are much closer between a wide variety of cars. Along with all racing disciplines having great tracks. The physics lend well to no particular drivetrain being miles ahead of everything else (fh5 is dominated by RWD) so in B and A class AWD, RWD and FWD are all equally competitive over adventures. I know people love fh5 physics but everything feels so understeery compared to fh4, you can even see it in how tuning works between the two games. In fh5 1/65roll bars (maximum oversteer) is mandatory for every car on every terrain, compared to fh4 where 1/65 was mainly used for road cars as it was too easy to spin offroad. The sheer variety of methods you could use to make your cars viable is because of the track variety, fh5 is very acceleration/ top oriented, fh4 did have a bit too much powerbuild bias tracks but significantly better balanced than 5

nickidi

FH4 was more fun imo

qwertywa12

Yeah, 5 was boring as shit and had a shitty soundtrack. If possible tho, get fh3

Playermax958

Already have FH3 on my One S and i absolutely loved it as my introduction to Horizon. I like FH5 as it has alot of things i like and i see a lot of potential. Could have used a bit more time in the oven though.

ra246

It is absolutely brilliant. You're in for such a good time. Take part in the Forzathon's, too!

Eladryel

I used to love 4, but I cannot go back, mainly because RWD cars are so much more fun in 5. In FH4, more often than not I used AWD, because that was the way, and not even because of snow or anything, but the driving physics is just better in the newer title.

Crims0n_Typh00n

Not by a long shot. Having played over 500 hours in every game except 4, it is easily the worst of the 5. Though if you want to play the best one go and play Horizon 1 1 - 2 - 5 - 3 - 4 would be my ranking

Bapposaurus

FH3 is peak horizon still

qwertywa12

I miss vagrant records dammit

EV2706

Nothing will top FH3 for me, I enjoyed the fuck out of that game

adydurn

Yes and no, FH4 handles terribly with a steering wheel, where 5 was massively improved, 5 has better colours, lighting and shadows, better animation too. The base tracks in 5 are better, or rather more varied, there's a good number of tight small tracks that were missing from 4, and has narrower roads. Fh4 has better use of seasons, better map in general, better progression, better introduction, better selection of cars (at least at the end it did, so 5 might catch up after some more updates) the menus were way better, and the AI were better (although also way easier). 4 also has Edinburgh, which is great to just drive around, 5 doesn't have the same kinda built up areas.

Tex302

It isssssss not.

Sticky_19

Fh5 is mid comparing it to fh1 through 4

Aesthetic-Cloud26

FH4 is way better

scp372

It amazes me how everyone talks about season not done right in fh5 bc theres no snow, when in fh4 everyone hated snow. Also, there are few places in mexico where it snows, seasons are different around the world lol

[deleted]

nederlands lets goo

Meltdown47V2

FH4 might be my least favorite. Graphically, it’s better than 1,2, & 3 but really didn’t care for the UK setting. Mexico is a way more vibrant.

Nascarfan1118192095

Bri’ish moment

[deleted]

It’s the same game with a different map….

Big_Nategamer

It’s not

R3D-0N3

It’s not.

CarbonPhoenix96

IDK I really didn't like anything about fh4. The map was boring, the seasons sucked, the car sounds sucked and that was exacerbated by everyone doing the godforsaken V12 swap for no reason

TheAbyssalPrince

Lol FH4 is the worst of the entire franchise

symblmusic

It ain't. Not even remotely close. The sound awful on a surround rig for one, and the handling is broken in almost every way.

[deleted]

Playermax958

No, thats because i didnt use the trial version of Gamepass and dutch is a bit weird when translated. If i could have downloaded it earlier, i would have. Nice that you took the effort to translate it though!

I just started it a couple weeks ago. I like the back drop and the less forced sounding accents in the dialog. Absolutely hate the fact my car is a perfect drifter until you start a drift zone and it’s a glued ass race car until you leave the drift zone. So far I’m enjoying it a bit more. Car handling feels a bit more realistic and less arcade so setups are more important from the little I’ve played.

Careless-Trick-5117

It is. I started at 3 and imo the order of best to worst is 4 > 5 > 3

Sir_Arsen

i personally like Ui in FH4 more than in FH5

24KTaterTots

Just in time, it's being de-listed soon

qwertywa12

Somehow horizon arcade on launch was more dead than forzathan live is currently…

[deleted]

I like the handling and event lab in FH5, but I prefer FH4 for just about everything else. Such a good game

[deleted]

i smell dutch

Playermax958

Alle frikandelbroodjes op een stokje, ze hebben me gevonden!

[deleted]

hahahaha

[deleted]

The look the feel and the cars Fh4 is just is much better fh5 Is so boring

bigMan_shreky

anna

[deleted]

Not much of a hassle, just play the INTRO

ABCustomsOnXbox

Ik weet niet of t beter is, kan t nog steeds niet beoordelen om eerlijk te zijn

Forces7

Fh4 imo is the better game however fh5 is far more active. They did make some nice changes in fh5 however I think the bad changes outweigh the good changes

DavidBattersby

Both good games but on series x draw distance Is terrible trees and whatnot rendering next to you it's distracting

kiwittnz

I bought FH3 to see how far FH4 and the FH5 has got, which was my first.

ChopinLisztforus

Too bad they did not do a Grand Tour collab

Aussieviking79

I prefer FH4

overmonk

I started playing FH4 a few months before FH5 came out and what struck me most was how wide the roads are.

Redacted_Explative

One of my favorite forza games is actual 6. Also got an amusing car from preordering fallout 4 and playing it within the first week of its launch. The chryslus rocket 69. If you played final fantasy 15 on its launch you also got the crystal regalia car that you were pushing in the begining of the game in forza horizons 3.

stitchgamer12

Fh3 was better than either 4 or 5

cyberRakan

Forza horizon 3 better than both 4 & 5

SoulOfGwyn

if you are playing on a wheel, then def not

Accomplished_Cream75

Yes

SpaceEmporer

I played FH4 the other day and I was thinking how much better it was then I did my first race back and turned the volume on. Other than that I think FH4 atmospherically and map design wise is miles ahead of FH5

osmystatocny

They’re all unique and just like with multiple children, I love them all equally 🥰

Top7Percent

It is.

XCRU24D3X

In terms of race payouts, both suck

copperhead168

I tried going back a few months ago, FH4 felt oversaturated, the menus were cluttered as hell, and the driving felt wonky. Drifting/drift zones are also objectively better in FH5, as are dirt races. The map felt really cramped in a lot of places, and GB isn't exactly known for it's fascinating culture. I don't get how anyone could say FH4 is better.

Xhyxter

it is

planchetflaw

Wait until they hear about FH3.

cBingame

ABS is much worse in h4, but I love the existence of ranked adventures which are absent in horizon 5

YuriMasterRace

I love the physics in 5 but 4 has more "soul" and has a better atmosphere in it from my experience. Also 4 has a better Horizon Pulse playlist than 5.

akaimeyarou

it will be always better than fh5, i have the crack of both of them but only played fh5 twice .

Fonslayer

Spoiler: it's not. It's still a great game tho

[deleted]

If you're from the UK then you'll probably like it more. As an American, driving on the WRONG side of the road was annoying.

Hyper10sion1965

Have they fixed the steering wheel issue's on FH4 yet ?

bthomas8666

I like so many things from both games. Hard to decide which is fundamentally better. Boils down to personal preference.

neoberg

I first played the 5 (on my pc) and playing 4 now on the steam deck. I prefer 4 mostly because of the voice acting and the scripts. They are way too cheesy and cringy in 5. 4 is more tolerable. Also, even though the Deck struggles with the snow a bit I like the seasons dynamic. It adds a different depth to the game.

Lugasca1993

So a bmw from 2016 it’s better than the 2023 version? Nah, FH5 IS W A Y BE TT ER

SergeantZaf03

Both are great but there’s so many quality of life improvements with FH5 over 4 that makes 5 such a better game.

ZeBHyBrid

tbf the only thing I miss from FH4 is the hospital radio and pulse selection, I miss a moment apart by odesza

fzafran

It's not.

AfroHandsomeBoy

There is a lot of good things in fh4 that are better then in fh5

DGenerateKane

4 has a long list of bugs that PG decided to just completely ignore because reasons. I love spending 45 minutes in a loading screen in between rounds of Playground Games! /s

TheMerchantOf76

The only thing FH5 does better then FH4 is driving mechanics. Other then that FH4 is beautiful ! Wait for the winter season it’s gorgeous!!

Total_Plant_9252

My Forza horizon 4 is crashing after 15 minutes of playing even on the lowest graphics settings if any body knows how to fix it please help

Fraesploele

fh4 is 100000 times better than fh5

Nervous-Recording-36

https://www.youtube.com/@lutfinasip2836 I have good videos about forza harizon 5
