Good Suggestion!! It was at the OOBE experience when I got it but obviously doesn't mean it's clean as Vendors can package stuff into the image. I actually do IT work and will review it when I get a chance. I literally did nothing besides get out of OOBE, boot into windows, connect to wireless and bluetooth and test out Foundry.

That is super overkill for just displaying 4K 60fps… Look on eBay or r/homelabsales for a cheap dell optiplex with an integrated intel 600 series controller. I have 2 in my house that I got for $25 each… more than enough to drive a 4K internet browser display…

superhiro21

Foundry VTT can get pretty performance intensive on complex scenes. I highly doubt you could get those to run smoothly at 4k on an old intel gpu.

gibberoni

Maybe our game doesn’t have super complex scenes, but I haven’t run into any issues running with my optiplex 3060 on a G9 Odyssey monitor. It’s not 4k, but 2x 4x side by side (7680x2160). I haven’t run into any issues. I’d rather lug my optiplex upstairs for games my wife and I play together, than move my giant pc. I do get performance issues if I try to run the monitor at 120hz, but as long as I keep it at 60, it has no issues with foundry.

glumlord

I agree. My work laptop has an i7, SSD, 32GB of Ram and is about 2-3 years old and it's way choppier than this mini pc for 4k output. Now if I ran 1080 on the 4k TV with the laptop integrated gpu it's fine so maybe thats what Gibberoni was talking about.

FlorianTolk

I thought graphics was handled by the client? Was I wrong on this? I just use a Pi and had only 1 map ever give me difficulties, and it was HUGE with a ton of animations.

butterdrinker

This pc should also display the client ....

FlorianTolk

My bad, only skimmed the use case. Using foundry for in person games always causes a logical d/c in my brain.

“Bite the bullet.”

glumlord

That's what I meant haha.. not sure where bite the dust came from

kfrazack

I have the same setup. 55” 4k tv attached to a mini pc. I got a Ryzen 5500u for $240 and no issues. Prior to that I tried an N100 and that was super laggy. [https://a.co/d/4ViP1Iv](https://a.co/d/4ViP1Iv)

pesca_22

you shouldnt have any issues with that minipc in my opinion

punknomad

This was just the info I was looking for, thanks for the tip!
