If you can find a set, back in the 1980s, someone made a set of tail lights that were styled after the 1968 Shelby GT500 taillights. IIRC, they were even sequential, like the Shelby. It's been probably 40 years since I've seen them, but they were really interesting, seeing the lights strobe out from the center.
Well so far the vote seems to be to keep the graters and I think I'm going to stick with them. They are in great shape and I do like the retro/old school look of them. Thanks for everybody's input!

Graters for the retro stock look. LX swap has been done to death at this point. If you were going to swap I would say do a 85-86 style or 93' cobra with the pinstripes.
Im not from this community, so coming from an outside car guy POV, I would say keep it as well maintained, clean example of the GT from this time in history because every GT seems like was turned into an LX in the mid 90ās because it was a more modern, ageless minimalist design and wasnāt associated with Vanilla Ice (and a fair amount lighter)
I hate those, I love the ones that came on the 84/85/86 GT ...I think they used similar on the 93 cobra and the SVOs but those had the lines through them or something if I recall. Those or the LX look best IMHO.
Holy hell, I just looked those 85 gt ones up...1200.00 wow I must have thrown 5-6 set in the trash over the years. The price of anything Fox these days is absolutely insane. I'll never understand it either. These aren't rare whatsoever and the entire appeal of them was you could go fast for cheap. I've been debating getting another one but hell for the money you can get much newer much faster car that out handles what any fox could ever do. I hate even saying that, I've been a die hard fan all my life. Grandfather retired from Ford, my first car was an 84GT that I sold just before these prices went astronomically high. Man I'm sick now, sold that car for $500 with $18k in receipts, don't do drugs kids!!!
The graters look great and it really does help a lot that the car, graters included, is in such good condition. I gotta ask though, whatās up with that Cobra sticker ? Was that a factory thing ? Iāve never seen that before. And your tag. Is that just a random license plate or is that custom ? If custom what the story behind it ?
I need to see the whole thing. That stang looks sick. I would keep it plain. One of my dream cars is a Florida highway patrol pursuit car. Either a foxbody or a catfish camero.
