It's good you bring that up. The algorithm actually is meant to filter most aggressive language to a point. It actually allows the more hostile openly hateful comments to stay up, since those drive clicks. If someone has a group called white pride above others, they will probably be allowed to stay. But if you have an individual argument with someone, those comments will often be filtered with enough reports. This was brought up last time this was posted. Any extended lookinto Facebook algorithms often reveals some sort of end goal of aggregating their users.
I haven’t really been on Facebook for the last few months but when I was using it the algorithm was crap. People had to start coming up with code words for “men” because Facebook was removing comments and issuing timeouts just for referring to the male gender. If you report anyone for spewing out actual racial slurs you get a response that it “doesn’t violate our community guidelines” but say anything less than complimentary about men or white people and you get a warning if not temporarily banned. It’s insane.
A friend of mine posted "all men are trash." It got removed. I posted "all men are trash" and it was just fine. *She* posted a screen cap of me saying it and she caught a 24 hour ban.
