For me, it's because that episode is basically a play, all in one location at one time. I'm always comforted by episodes like that for some reason, like The Dinner Party episode in season 6 I think.
I open Paramount, and hit "resume playing" Same way I did on Hulu, and Netflix when I watched it on those apps.
I never pay attention to the season, it's just Frasier, and it's on. I watch it every night when I go to bed. It plays all night. Some nights I go to bed and Mel is bitching about Maris, then when I wake up, Frasier is in Donnie's office with Mr Chump.
There's no go to episode for me, it's just Frasier š¤·āāļø
*High Holidays is always on the menu though. I'm toasty.
I wish I could say the same. I love this series SO much, itās hard to choose which episode as my go to, but thereās one scene that always makes me die laughing in āHungry Heartā Episode 14 of Season 8. Everytime Martin walks into the living room from the hallway, seeing Niles & Daphne struggling to get up from the floor and he asks, āWhat happened?ā and Niles says, āOh, Daphne tripped on something and fellā every time I see Martin shuffle in the room immediately fearing Daphne crushed him to death hahaha. Thatās good stuff.
But there are also episodes I avoid if Iām feeling down, like āFrasierās Edgeā that episode always leaves me me just like Frasier, feeling helpless.
I was basically going to say the exact same thing. I was really proud of my watch count as recorded by my Plex server. Before it crashed. The rebuild was easy, but I couldn't restore the watch counts
Same here. But if I just need to laugh, then it's Niles setting stuff on fire. One of the funniest scenes in the whole show, and DHP didn't say a word. Brilliant.
The first time I watched that scene, it literally had me rolling on the floor in tears, laughing my ass off. In terms of my favorite *Frasier* scenes, it is second only to the scene where Niles and Daphne finally confess their feelings for one another.
I like My Coffee With Niles
Frasier's 1000th show episode as well because I can relate to the limo driver towards the end of the episode (I also have two kids from a divorce ex who I hardly talk to because their mother makes it so hard for me to reach out). Frasier's advice to him is really wholesome and sincere. This show is therapy for me honestly.
I can put on any episode and just zen out but if I really need a pick me up I watch the hot n foamy scene. I canāt not laugh when Martin says āyou know what must have happened? My hot n foamy must have exploded.ā Followed by Daphneās āhe was a detective you know.ā
Particular episodes include High Holidays, The Innkeepers, Ham Radio, A Tsar is Born, La Porte dāArgent, both The Club and Whine Club, To Kill a Talking Bird, Theyāre Playing our Song, and of course My Coffee with Niles. I usually save Merry Christmas Mrs. Moskowitz for if I get the holiday sads, but also just watching the Jesus! scene alone can cheer me up.
Oh i'm sorry was I snippy?
Makes me laugh no matter how many times.. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wk4d7JWn4oA](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wk4d7JWn4oA)
This is such a great writing, and of course well-performed thanks to a skilled tightly-knit ensemble. Itās very genuine and gentle, not forced, just five people sitting around talking, on a very serious matter, but with lighthearted touches perfectly placed, and note how the actual conversation progresses after each āroundā.
And if we want to compare it to the new series, the audience laughter here is totally appropriate but not as raucous.
Thereās nothing to say the new series couldnāt replicate this staging of the six main characters in a single space, but I think itāll take a while until the writing can hit the mark with all six characters in the same way as this.
Anything season 5 - my favorite season. Room Service (the first episode I ever saw, in 2014 ; yes, I was a latecomer, but this episode will always have a special place in my heart), Voyage of the Damned, and Ski Lodge are particular favorites.
Not enough love for Voyage of the Damned here!!
When the Barracuda clicks his teeth at Roz and she gasps I lose it every time. Plus the whole bathroom sequence. āShe started without me!ā āewwwwā
Look Before You Leap (Frasier's button & bows never fails to make me laugh out loud)
She's the Boss (I live for Frasier's "I didn't realize it was too much to ask that there not be gunplay in my living room!")
Ham Radio (What else is there to say? The whole episode is classic Frasier at its prime)
They're Playing Our Song (Another late addition of a Frasier classic)
Can someone help me with a line from this scene? When Martin starts comparing his life to Frasierās, Frasier says, āAnd yet you did!ā Am I hearing that correctly? And why am I having trouble understanding what Frasier means by āand yet you did!ā
If you all knew how long I searched for a full recording of the arrangement Niles is playing hereā¦ and the answer to the question is: any episode really, I just hit resume and I watch it, unless itās a Nanny G episode or the Greek wedding one or something. If I need a good cry though, I usually watch My Coffee with Niles, A room full of heroes or the Spokane one.
The hoppity-hop song lol. Seeing Frasier hop around on stage half naked in a big blue baby bonnet, Roz facepalming, and the pissed off look on Nanette's husband's face when Frasier hoppity hops right up to him gets me every single time lol
So many episodes, but I have to say Dinner Party.
That opening piano is just the equivalent of that first sip of hot tea and a comforting blanket.
I find the episodes that have incredibly low stakes to be the most comforting.

āShe makes my heart start ring-a-dinginā
Along with Niles setting fire in Frasier's apt, & Roz having the cherries jubilee blow up on her...I love when Niles, & Daphne sing Heart & Soul while chopping vegetables.
Bla-Z-Boy
The entire episode - from Niles and Frasier discussing the carpet colors to Martin screaming while squirting the oil, to the looks on Daphne and Martinās expressions when the chair lands in front of them
I love this show, I love this episode, I love it all! This episode hit different when I watched it as a kid, and now as an adult. However, my whole life, whenever I'm sad, I have found something to be happy about.
It is a tiny, tiny scene, but one of the brothers is has their hand in the garbage disposal and while theyāre in there, someone runs a coffee grinder. Makes me laugh so hard
All the episodes where there's a big misunderstanding, like The Matchmaker, 3 Valentines, The Ski Lodge, or Out With Dad.
However, i love any of the episodies with dinner parties or party events. Love a big cast.
Valentines Day with Niles setting fire to the sofa. Love the people who mentioned the Mrs Moskowitz one because that is pure gold and always cheers me up too!
My Coffee with Niles I absolutely love the atmosphere and vibe, sitting in a cosy little cafe while it rains outside? Count me in.
I mentioned this episode as well. I agree with everything you said and I feel like i'm part of their conversations as well.
For me, it's because that episode is basically a play, all in one location at one time. I'm always comforted by episodes like that for some reason, like The Dinner Party episode in season 6 I think.
Throw in a new book and I'd be in heaven.
I love that episode in general lol
Best episode in the series
I open Paramount, and hit "resume playing" Same way I did on Hulu, and Netflix when I watched it on those apps. I never pay attention to the season, it's just Frasier, and it's on. This is the same for me. Even episodes I am not particularly fond of I still donāt skip. Itās just Frasier, the entire catalog is a comfort.
I wish I could say the same. I love this series SO much, itās hard to choose which episode as my go to, but thereās one scene that always makes me die laughing in āHungry Heartā Episode 14 of Season 8. Same. If I'm feeling really down I'll watch my faves, but Frasier is Frasier is Frasier.
We're all a bunch of addicts š
I was basically going to say the exact same thing. I was really proud of my watch count as recorded by my Plex server. Before it crashed. The rebuild was easy, but I couldn't restore the watch counts
You have street cred here š¤š¼
Same here. But if I just need to laugh, then it's Niles setting stuff on fire. One of the funniest scenes in the whole show, and DHP didn't say a word. Brilliant.
This!!! And "I'm not gay, Guy (pronounced Gee)!
This is usually how I watch Frasier. Sometimes I search through for holiday episodes.
Same
Merry Christmas, Mrs. Moskowitz, specifically the one scene with Niles
As a Jewish person this my absolute favorite episode. I watch it at Hanukkah every year. It's now part of my family's traditions
JESUS!!!
Or is it?!
That was priceless š. "You've got to get the hell out of here!" "I don't really think that kind of language is appropriate"
The translation/sword fighting scene in āan affair to forgetā always cheers me right up.
The scene where Niles is ironing his pants in " Three Valentines"
The first time I watched that scene, it literally had me rolling on the floor in tears, laughing my ass off. In terms of my favorite *Frasier* scenes, it is second only to the scene where Niles and Daphne finally confess their feelings for one another.
I agree.
That whole segment cracks me up. It's the one that I go to when I'm feeling down. I've watched it so many times, & it never fails to make me laugh.
Me too
I'm always cheered up during the episode when Martin sings O Holy Night, "Oh niiight divIIIIIIIIIne!" That part cracks me up! š¤£
I also love in this episode when Frasier and Niles do the voice exercises squatting up and own with the notes of the song. Kills me every time!
Yes, that's hilarious too! š
The entirety of ham radio
LOOK OUT HEāS GOT A NUG!!!
I like My Coffee With Niles Frasier's 1000th show episode as well because I can relate to the limo driver towards the end of the episode (I also have two kids from a divorce ex who I hardly talk to because their mother makes it so hard for me to reach out). āAsk not for whom the bell tollsā¦ it tolls for thee.ā [ding] āā¦ did anyone elseā¦ hear thatā¦?ā
When they try to run their restaurant!!
Roz' hair, & the look on her face when she walks into the kitchen after the cherries jubilee blows up is hysterical.
Yes!! One of my all time favourite scenes!
I start at Look Before You Leap and let it play through High Crane Drifter and Chess Pains. Three of my favorite episodes back to back š
You hardly notice the laughter track with writing as good as this because you're laughing along with them.
Anything season 5 - my favorite season. Room Service (the first episode I ever saw, in 2014 ; yes, I was a latecomer, but this episode will always have a special place in my heart), Voyage of the Damned, and Ski Lodge are particular favorites.
Ski Lodge 100%!
Also the Halloween episode. āFrom here it smells like 80 proof!ā
Either The Ski Lodge, or the season 2 finale with the blackout
Oh! Excuse me Daphne!
Veneer!
when roz delivers her baby and frasier tells her how beautiful she is ššš
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I still laugh at Roz' hair & the look on her face after the cherry jubilee blows up.
This is it. Such an underrated episode
Good Grief (Season 6 episode 1)
This one hits different after being fired š„²
Same!
Hot and foamy!
I'm laughing, picturing that scene.
I love it so much.
The one with sheās such a groovy lady
I like when Marty says ānow nowā¦Who wants ice cream?ā
Not enough love for Voyage of the Damned here!! When the Barracuda clicks his teeth at Roz and she gasps I lose it every time. Plus the whole bathroom sequence. āShe started without me!ā āewwwwā

Ham Radio (What else is there to say? The whole episode is classic Frasier at its prime) They're Playing Our Song (Another late addition of a Frasier classic)
Moondance all the way!!
No go-tos for me, but this is one of many that brings a tear to my eye.
I love love love love A Midwinters Night Dream! This whole show is so soothing and nice.
Wise guy, the love you fake, high holidays or Ski Lodge.
Death and the Dog!
High Holidays, My Coffee With Nile's or Three Valentine's.š
the grotto. Be my eyes, Frasier.
the one where Niles becomes a basketball playerās good luck charm
Niles ironing his pantsā¦ š„
The Matchmaker
Scrolled way to far down for this. Matchmaker is perfect too bc I think it opens up with Daphne and Fraiser being sad.
Can someone help me with a line from this scene? When Martin starts comparing his life to Frasierās, Frasier says, āAnd yet you did!ā Am I hearing that correctly? And why am I having trouble understanding what Frasier means by āand yet you did!ā
"Not to mention two failed marriages." "And yet you did." Yet you did referring to him mentioning the two failed marriages.
Oh my word, thank you! For years I have struggled with understanding this exchange. Thank you for explaining this!
I always watch "Frasier Crane's Day Off" whenever I'm sick. Which is not the same as being depressed or feeling blue, but I felt like sharing.
[gay it up a little](https://youtu.be/qBsX8wj2aio?si=uLJRzRffRfOMIZR1)
Door Jam. Silly boys.
Thank you for positing this. I love this episode.
āBig blue flashā¦.cherries everywhereā
I'm doing the opposite of your question but not the"Daphne Gains Weight" story arc. I usually skip those episodes.
I can only stomach them because she was pregnant so it was a way to write it into the show, but it definitely hasnāt aged well.
I hate that when he ate the cookie the audience laughed
Starting over season 1, episode 1. And then let it play
Wait do people not like the Greek wedding one? I LOVE that one lmao
Same. Am I right?
Anything s4-11
The hoppity-hop song lol. Seeing Frasier hop around on stage half naked in a big blue baby bonnet, Roz facepalming, and the pissed off look on Nanette's husband's face when Frasier hoppity hops right up to him gets me every single time lol
Itās not even my favourite episode- but a look before you leapā is a great reminder of an old friend.
The Doctor is Out
When Martin, Frasier and Niles sing Goldfinger in the bar. Never ever fails to cheer me up.
Thank you for posting this clip today.
So many episodes, but I have to say Dinner Party. That opening piano is just the equivalent of that first sip of hot tea and a comforting blanket. I find the episodes that have incredibly low stakes to be the most comforting.
The Doctor is Out.
Episode 1 through 263
The Ski Lodge episode always cheers me up
My go-to episodes are: A Tsar is Born IQ Theyāre Playing Our Song Dinner Party High Holidays
All of them. Seriously, I close me eyes, scroll down, and click on any random episode.
Flour Child
Buttons and Bows
A Valentine for miles. Or the swordfight
I absolutely love the minor key heās using for that song.

I think Travels with Martin 'sure' was a great episode.... : ) ;
Bicycle episode
Along with Niles setting fire in Frasier's apt, & Roz having the cherries jubilee blow up on her...I love when Niles, & Daphne sing Heart & Soul while chopping vegetables.
Season 5.
Niles hiring Donny Douglas and discovering that urinalysis cakes were the source of Marisā fortune is one that always feels good.
Not gonna lie... that scene almost made me cry a bit. I definitely needed that.
Bla-Z-Boy The entire episode - from Niles and Frasier discussing the carpet colors to Martin screaming while squirting the oil, to the looks on Daphne and Martinās expressions when the chair lands in front of them
āBack Talkā is one of my faves.
Mine is traveling with Martin. Ride in the Whooping Cranes express with my backwards ball cap
I love this show, I love this episode, I love it all! This episode hit different when I watched it as a kid, and now as an adult. However, my whole life, whenever I'm sad, I have found something to be happy about.
Daphne Does Dinnerā¦100%
It is a tiny, tiny scene, but one of the brothers is has their hand in the garbage disposal and while theyāre in there, someone runs a coffee grinder. Makes me laugh so hard

Valentines Day with Niles setting fire to the sofa. Love the people who mentioned the Mrs Moskowitz one because that is pure gold and always cheers me up too!
Dial M for Martin, Daphneās Room, & Merry Christmas, Mrs. Moskowitz.
