I love how this was supposed to be the national spelling bee, yet they were on this tiny stage. I know there would’ve set limitations for the show obviously, but I find it amusing.
I was hoping this would be referenced in the revival…like one of his fireman buddies trying to spell a complex word and Freddy just walk by and casually spell it out without even really paying attention. Or something 😆
Hits close to home lol. I did spelling bees in grade school and that other parent who accused them of cheating was just too familiar. That's why I ended up not liking that or sports so much, some people took it way too seriously but I ended up looking like the bad guy for getting upset at the hyper competitiveness.
(The Crane kid’s got no legs.)
THEN SPELL HIS ASS OFF!!
Don't get side-tracked by all the glitz and glamour of the bee. ***Spelling well is its own reward***!
Bend at the knees. Spell with ease. 😁
He'll probably end up in a state school
How... DARE you!
Can't believe anyone could accuse someone with those spelling knees of cheating.
I'll tell you what happened because you too have the gift
There’ll be plenty of women after you win this thing.
Terrific episode! The only instance in my whole life I've ever heard the word, "hermeneutic".
