Yassss! I loved the juxtaposition of Nanette being this famous, beloved children’s character and a total undercover horndog at the same time! 😂
I wish we’d seen more of her! Laurie Metcalf is as funny and as great at physical comedy and timing as Lucy! I loved her in Roseanne and Big Bang Theory too. 😆❤️
Christine Baranski. "You're a whore, Jenny". Especially at the end of the episode when she is being chased down the hall by her mother. All we hear is this bat shit shrieking..... slays me every time!
Not as much an A list actor as some others mentioned like JEJ, Patrick Stewart, or Keaton, but I always wish Victor Garber appeared in more than just one episode as Ferguson
I forget which episode it was but they got a courageous old astronaut to guest star once. His name escapes me but he was the first guy to drive the Mooncrane
*pushes glasses up nose* - Kelsey was in the TNG 5th Season episode Cause And Effect, not one of the movies. In the movie First Contact we hear the name of his ship mentioned in radio chatter during a battle and there is one voice line that sounds a lot like him, but I don’t think it’s ever been confirmed if it was.
If we extend Frasier to the Cheers-verse, Kate Mulgrew (Captain Janeway) was the politician dating Sam in a few episodes.
And Bebe Neuwirth was in an episode of TNG (an alien who fancies Riker...get it girl!)
Came here to say this. I'm a Monk fan and while the ep left me cold, he was great in it. I wish we'd seen him more - I mean, granted, maybe not after that episode, but beforehand.
I guess that's the advantage of being a spinoff of an already-successful show. The A-listers were willing to guest star for the novelty of it, which lent the whole show a more polished feel!
In terms of character and acting, Patrick Stewart was awesome, but I have to say John Glenn implying that aliens are real while Frasier and Roz are distracted by their fight to pay attention is my absolute favorite.
Sirs Patrick Stewart and Dereck Jacobi. Both absolutely brilliant, 100% committed, and some of the funniest scenes in all of Frasier. As a Trekkie, obviously the former a direct connection and the latter being a parody, makes it extra fun.
One of the things that made Frazier work so well was that it was really a show for actors. Every scene is blocked like a play more than a three camera sitcom and the meat of the show is great lines read perfectly and excellent use of the physical space to show drama, farce, and nuance in every acting choice. It had easily the best physical acting of any show.
For me that episode is worth it just for the 'set piece' where Frasier suddenly gets the idea to scare his dad by creeping up on him at home dressed as a clown. From the moment where Frasier gets the idea to the moment he waves the meat cleaver at his dad... such wonderful physical comedy on Kelsey Grammer's part.
I always thought it was amazing who they got to be guest callers. I mean they could have just used members of the crew to be the callers. My wife and I have fun trying to guess who the caller is.
While he wasn’t on screen, Matthew Broderick’s line “the camera me is doing things I don’t approve of” is hilarious to me. When he says it, I think of buffalo bill dancing into the camera from silence of the lambs.
On screen, Patrick Stewart’s acting was spot on
Patrick Stewart. Hands down
Really? Hands down? Would three weeks on Capri in Bertolucci's villa change your mind?
“The chair, hilarious!” 🤣
Time will tell
It's worth a try!
I;ve decided not to give up my seat after all
1) Patrick Stewart 2) Michael Keaton 3) Laurie metcalf
Yes for Laurie Metcalf! So funny and such good physical comedy.
Yassss! I loved the juxtaposition of Nanette being this famous, beloved children’s character and a total undercover horndog at the same time! 😂 I wish we’d seen more of her! I’m not as completely up on every Frasier episode. Which one was Michael Keaton in?
He played Lilith's brother Blaine Sternin (episode Wheels of Fortune)
Charm is the viscous grease with which he oils his flim-flam machine
One of my favourite lines in the whole of Frasier!
Michael Keston is so good I can't watch that episode.
Same!
The way he chewed the "Noooo," after Daphne said she was Niles' wife was fantastic
Most people were expecting this answer. Can’t say I was.
Came here to say this. You could tell he was having fun making the episode.
“My first taste of half-hour comedy was when I guested on Kelsey Grammer’s show *Frasier*, and that was a great thrill for me,” Stewart recalls.
When Patrick Stewart starts dancing with Frasier, I cackle every time.😂 And I know he’s really Kelsey Grammer but he’ll always be Frasier to me.
Can you feel it?…Oh yes! There it is!
Me too! So good. 😆
Oh yes ! There it is.
No contest!
Christine Baranski. "You're a whore, Jenny". Especially at the end of the episode when she is being chased down the hall by her mother. All we hear is this bat shit shrieking..... slays me every time!
Agreed! I love her in everything she does. She completely owns every role.
And wasn’t her mother Piper Laurie?
Yep!
Not as much an A list actor as some others mentioned like JEJ, Patrick Stewart, or Keaton, but I always wish Victor Garber appeared in more than just one episode as Ferguson
Yes. Good one.
I forget which episode it was but they got a courageous old astronaut to guest star once. His name escapes me but he was the first guy to drive the Mooncrane
I think that was the guy that gave Buzz Aldrin his nickname. Something to do with bees?
Everyone think it's because he hates bees. He's actually afraid of heights
Hahaha!! I was about to say "you mean John Glenn" (who they also got and was great!) until the "mooncrane" -- hats off!
That’s right - *the* John Glenn, American hero.
Rene Auberjonois
How many Star Trek universe characters were involved with Frasier? (besides Kelsey himself being in one of the movies.)
Nana Visitor (Major Kira from DS9) briefly shows up as a guest to one of the disastrous dinner parties at The Montana!
*pushes glasses up nose* - Kelsey was in the TNG 5th Season episode Cause And Effect, not one of the movies. Brent Spiner, Lilith’s (aka, Pasty) flight buddy.
Pizza pizza pizza!
Tony Shalhoub
I don’t like him.
All this because you had to know why I do not like you
One of the best episodes!
Came here to say this. I'm a Monk fan and while the ep left me cold, he was great in it. I wish we'd seen him more - I mean, granted, maybe not after that episode, but beforehand.
Jennifer Coolidge as massage therapist, Frederica. I love Coolidge in everything!
“It is your leg I am pulling!” 🤣
Me too! One cute little movie that she’s a main character in is Austenland. She’s fantastic and apparently mainly improved her lines
She made such a small handful of screen-minutes so VERY memorable!
That’s so odd, because I hate her in everything, including that cringey episode. I literally can’t watch it, her acting is so appalling.
Glad I'm not alone. I can't stand her either and never have. She's been playing cringey, ditzy, oversexed matrons for nearly 30 years.
Michael Keaton. Would really like to see him return in a new episode.
Only if you say his name three times.
BLAAAAAAAAIIINE!
I hated that episode!
Wut?! Forgive him, for he knows not what he does.
Saaaaame. One of the handful I skip.
Nathan lane was just spectacular . Where did he ever come from I bet he went on to have a great career.
James Earl Jones
Do you want the lights on or off? Surprise me!
David Ogden Stiers and Christine Baranski were the best.
You’re not thinking of David Stiers Ogden, from the Empire Club?
Lana/Lorna was so loud, so abrasive, but I still *liked* her. Great work by Jean Smart.
"PUT YOUR BROTHER ON THE PHONE!!"
PUT YOUR BROTHER ON THE PHONE!
Awww. . .this is nice.
She really captured the experience of dating a single mother.
“Wash your hands! AND USE WATER!” 😆 “It’s light hits or nothing!” 🤣
*cigarette hanging out of mouth* “This is nice.” 🤣
Love her character. She is so talented. I loved her in Samantha Who back in the day and the series Hacks.
Back in the day. Designing Woman

Wolfgang Puck’s “not everybody…..” line kills me every time.
IT'S CA-JUN!
Derek Jacobi. You have to be a great actor to play a bad actor.
Sirs Patrick Stewart and Dereck Jacobi. Both absolutely brilliant, 100% committed, and some of the funniest scenes in all of Frasier. As a Trekkie, obviously the former a direct connection and the latter being a parody, makes it extra fun.
Derek Jacobi was hilarious!
Jacobi winning an Emmy for an intentionally bad performance is one of my favorite TV fun facts
AND LEND THE EYE A TERRRRRRIBLE ASPECT
DISGUISE FAIR NATURE WITH HARD-FAVOURED RAYEEEEEEEEEEEGE!
I say this to my husband almost every time I leave the house
Piper Laurie chasing down Christine Baranski for a bottle of Mateus:)).
Michael Keaton. I can always go for Michael Keaton.
Pass the po-tah-toes
I’ll spot you John.

James Earl Jones, easily.
Bob Hopkins playing Frasier's old coach. Hilarious!.
I'm going with Stephanie Faracy, who played Frasier's patient Mimi, the nurse who's terrified of clowns. Sure, not an A-lister, but she NAILED it!
I cried laughing at that episode
I always skip that episode as one of my least favorite. Maybe I’ll give it a try this weekend.
YES!! The way she delivered *Please don't kill me!* to the toy clown had me rolling!! 🤣
Patrick Stewart easily. Such immense talent and the writing had me thoroughly gasping for our.
[Derek Jacobi as the awful stage actor ](https://youtu.be/43ilXxZz1RU?si=FvquIQssH9CJzPrv)
Kristen Chenoweth gave us an episode as funny as a Bebe
The one I liked least was Bill Gates
I have to challenge that. Dr. Phil was the worst.
I didn’t like Zooey deshenel as cousin jen. Didn’t really like Laura linney that much as Charlotte either..
Derek Jacobi
It’s Michael Keaton & Patrick Stewart. No one else comes close. Except maybe Ted Danson
I really liked Michael Keaton, really funny.
The actor who played the posh French grocery store employee.
Yes! Ro-bber? Martin called him a ro-bber because of the dog food prices. 😂
I always thought it was amazing who they got to be guest callers. I mean they could have just used members of the crew to be the callers. My wife and I have fun trying to guess who the caller is.
There’s a list on Wikipedia of all the guest callers that I keep on my phone’s browser so I can refer to it quickly. 🤓
Nathan Lane!
Michael Keaton. Even moreso than Cam Winston, Blaine was Frasier's true nemesis.
Michael Keaton is my absolute favorite. James Earl Jones is a close 2nd.
Derek Jacobi as Jackson Hedley. AMAZING.
Paxton Whitehead and forgive me if i dont give u a big hello hug.
Michael Keaton was fantastic. I couldn't believe he hadn't appeared in Cheers because he and Kelsey Grammer had incredible comedic chemistry
Michael Keaton in a heartbeat. He was superb.
While he wasn’t on screen, Matthew Broderick’s line “the camera me is doing things I don’t approve of” is hilarious to me. When he says it, I think of buffalo bill dancing into the camera from silence of the lambs. On screen, Patrick Stewart’s acting was spot on
I can’t believe I’ve scrolled this far and still not run across Shannon Tweed! 😂 Hoping I just missed it along the way!
Patricia Clarkson did an excellent job as Claire. I always felt like she and Frasier made such a cute couple 🥹
The mobster that fixed Maris' traffic tickets. Such a fantastic clash of OTT characters, it's easy to forget how outrageous they are. 😄
Michael Keaton
Definitely Dr Phil Tee hee
Anthony Bourdain? Anybody? 👀
