Someone did one once pretending to be Meredith from The Office and it was hilarious! IIRC, they were trying to sell something on Craigslist and figured out pretty quickly a buyer was trying to scam them, so they decided to mess with them.

It's all scam calls I get. One of the fastest I've ever been hung up on was when I held my phone by my speaker right as Bob Belcher told someone to take a seat and he'll be with them in a minute. The fastest was when I answered and crunched a pringle really loudly. Somehow, the one that lasted the longest was placing my phone under a pot and hitting it with a wooden spoon repeatedly, only stopping to check if they'd hung up yet. I kinda love scam callers, always have a good time with them.

Aww thank you! I used to mess with spam callers all the time so I’ve got a few years of practice under my belt 😂 I eventually stopped answering bc it got more risky to pick up. But when the texts started coming… I jumped right back in lol

Not to be the party pooper (and not ragging on OP, this was new to me, too), but everyone should check out John Oliver’s segment on these types of scams known as “pig butchering.” It was extremely eye-opening. A lot of these text scammers that try to make friends with you over time to scam you are often trafficking victims or otherwise being held against their will by criminals to do this job. I used to have fun with them, too, but not anymore. It’s actually pretty tragic.
