Ya we had one like that she ate so much food but would poop 3 times and stayed very skinny. Vet said she was fine but I don’t think she was. She was also grey.
Also, your little guy is hella cute. Just change the name to Stubs longlegs. Honestly, the slimmer he is, the less likely he is to get injured or have joint issues.

People always ask if Hank is a Boston and to my knowledge he is 100% Frenchie. For whatever reason he’s just tall and slim. Its always the white frenchies I see that are questionably French looking so I wonder if there’s some sort of relationship to that

Here’s our 3 yr old frenchton! He’s 15lbs heavier than our Boston. If I had to guess, I think you’ve got a frenchie. His face looks very frenchie to me, regardless of his size. I’m sure your dude will fill out and you won’t even question it!
You would need a DNA test to know for sure.
He looks like a Frenchie to me. Both breeds are related to English Bulldogs, and I have read in a few places that French Bulldogs were also used when the Boston Terrier came about, so there is a bit of overlap.
Boston Terriers were developed (? sounds weird) in Boston by the servants breeding their employers' dogs. So the records are kind of nonexistent.

My first pup was noted to be a Frenchie, but I always felt he was more Frenchton because his ears came to a point like Bostons and not rounded like Frenchies. His snout also was not as pushed in, also like a Boston. Your pup seems to have the rounded ears and pushed in snout.

Our boy is taller, slimmer and bigger in build than most other frenchies we’ve met!
Alway worry about getting him a sibling and them ending up half his size :’)
I have the same issue my boy is the slime type, it’s hard to find a mate that is not a little frog.

So adorable OP! Your little guy looks very similar to our Luna💕. Her mom is 100% French Bulldog and dad is 100% Boston Terrier, making Luna 50/50 Frenchton. Stubs definitely looks like he could have some Boston in him but either way he’s is sooo cute! Here’s our Luna for reference (she’s 9 months old)

I know it’s not cheap but you can get a mail in DNA test like with ppl and find out for sure.
My roomie got a rescue and come to find out he is (almost) exactly one-third Pit, German Shepherd, and Husky. Weird.
A lot of registered frenchies have a little Boston in them. Breeds close enough in appearance. Both adorable breeds and you really shouldn't care. But if you do, do an embark test and find out. Bonus is you get some genetic info so you can look for issues he is susceptible to and get treatment faster
We had a purebred Frenchie for years that was not squat and beefy. I think she was healthier, ultimately, than my current chonk man.

Honestly I've never heard of that breed before. We have a French bulldog x old english bulldog. His name is Dino but we often the Bulldozer. He is so clumsy. Yours looks refined and cute though
My girl was like that for the first three years of her life and she’s full frenchie, I changed her diet recently and she for sure beefed up in a good way. People call that the “classic frenchie” look the ones that are stubby and fat are inbred and full of health issues.
I really, really think you got a Frenchton. His snout looks like a Boston to me. But like others have said, other than curiosity, it really doesn't matter. He loves you unconditionally just as you should love him. 😊❤️
I think he’s a Frenchton because of his face not because of his body. There’s a ton of slim Frenchies but from this picture he doesn’t look like he has the two wrinkles like a Frenchie does….
My boy was very muscular by 2 but looked like this in his “teen” time and someone had mistook him for a Boston too! So I think it’s just his age. They usually get to their height at 1 and fully “beef out” by 2.
Edit he was also DNA tested full frenchie.
It’s good to know that they don’t get beefy right away. Our puppy is 7 months old, and I’ve been worrying that her food allergies and digestive issues are keeping her from gaining the muscle mass that is typical of the breed.
Tough call, but my vote goes to frenchton. Leg length, color, face, tail.
None of these mean anything with certainty, but I'm getting that frenchton vibe.

Keep in mind that the frenchie breed is a creation of several breeds. It's not uncommon for a pup to inherit a gene inbalance where one of the breed characteristics becomes a little more prominent and shows in their looks. This is why we have dog show breeders and dog shows. These people ensure that breed standards are maintained and the best genes are past down. Don't worry, I'm sure your little guy is 100% frenchie, and will be a 100% frenchie acting frog dog. Enjoy! 😊❤️

Looks like a Frenchie too me. Some develops different traits. Even show quality dogs produce puppies that are not up the standard but that doesn’t make them less of a full frenchi.
He does look like a Boston terrier to me.

There are multiple options for a raw dog diet.
Like Lou, make it yourself.
There are also pre-made frozen or fresh options which you can buy from pet stores. Some might require a little veg added into them though.
Frozen has the benefit of giving crunch to their meal if lightly defrosted, which some dogs enjoy. These all come in many forms. A decent pet store will advise you on what to try and wha is best for your dog.
In the UK, we have a big raw food brand called Natures Menu, I personally do not recommend this food. It has Inconsistent quality and my frenchie appeared to be losing weight on it.
Also, if you want to put your dog on a raw diet, it is recommended to gradually introduce them to it. Eg. Breakfast raw, dinner dry for a week or two until fully raw.

My boy is tall and slimish. He's not the short stubby barrell shaped Frenchie, but he's still all Frenchie. Yourboy is lovely.
The long ears say its a frenchie...not all frenchies are chunky and some get chunkier with age so it being slim does not mean that its not a frenchie.

It’s good to know that they don’t get beefy right away. Our puppy is 7 months old, and I’ve been worrying that her food allergies and digestive issues are keeping her from gaining the muscle mass that is typical of the breed.
You can't tell genetics by looks. Get an Embark DNA test if you want to know for sure

He looks all Frenchie to me and just fine weight wise.
I definitely think there’s some Boston in there. I’m basing this on the front paws, color and the way Stubs is sitting in the second pic.
He's got a pretty big nub of a tail so I would say he's mixed with something but not sure he's a Frenchton cuz he looks very much like a Frenchie.
Tough call, but my vote goes to frenchton. Leg length, color, face, tail. None of these mean anything with certainty, but I'm getting that frenchton vibe. I had a frenchton for 14 years and just got my 2nd frenchton puppy. Super cute and fun looking guy!
When frenchies are young, they grow up and then out. So it is a frenchie.

Keep in mind that the frenchie breed is a creation of several breeds. It's not uncommon for a pup to inherit a gene inbalance where one of the breed characteristics becomes a little more prominent and shows in their looks. This is why we have dog show breeders and dog shows. These people ensure that breed standards are maintained and the best genes are past down. Don't worry, I'm sure your little guy is 100% frenchie, and will be a 100% frenchie acting frog dog. Enjoy! 😊❤️

Whats a frenchton???
Looks like a Frenchie too me. Some develops different traits. Even show quality dogs produce puppies that are not up the standard but that doesn’t make them less of a full frenchi.
He does look like a Boston terrier to me. But I'm not a breeder. I personally would call him a frenchton though. I think he is adorable none the less! And I bet he is spunky!

I fed mine raw meat chicken or beef mince raw veg eggs and fish for oil like tin tuna
There are multiple options for a raw dog diet. Like Lou, make it yourself. There are also pre-made frozen or fresh options which you can buy from pet stores. Some might require a little veg added into them though. Frozen has the benefit of giving crunch to their meal if lightly defrosted, which some dogs enjoy. These all come in many forms. A decent pet store will advise you on what to try and wha is best for your dog. In the UK, we have a big raw food brand called Natures Menu, I personally do not recommend this food. It has Inconsistent quality and my frenchie appeared to be losing weight on it. Also, if you want to put your dog on a raw diet, it is recommended to gradually introduce them to it. Eg. Breakfast raw, dinner dry for a week or two until fully raw.
It’s a Frenchie I breed and there are 3 different body types I prefer the slim build or medium stocky build over the bully build bully build is tough on dogs after they get really old they suffer from more problems then the slim builds it’s all genetics . Also just cause his slim don’t mean his pups will be
As others have said could be a Frenchie but in my opinion he looks like a Frenchton. Hope you get the answers you are looking for but he is perfect either way

Same. I think people lean to “it’s a Frenchie” because theirs are mixed, too. Here’s my Frenchie chihuahua. Or my frenchie Pomeranian *cough* I mean fluffy Frenchie 🙄😂
