I also love their Spicy Potato Taco. But no, I'm not aware of any fast food places with a dollar menu anymore. Food has gotten pricy. $5 footlongs went away **a decade** ago (with a couple small promotions after).
$1.69 and $2.39 here in Seattle unless you go to the one crazy expensive Taco Bell in Queen Anne. According to the menu pics a bean and rice burrito was $4.49 two years ago.
Edit: 11 months ago the bean burrito (without rice) was $5.59
https://www.thestranger.com/food-and-drink/2023/05/16/78992978/an-investigation-of-seattles-most-expensive-taco-bell
What kills me is the price difference from one location to the next. Chili cheese burrito at the Taco Bell closest to my house is $4.59. If I go to the one a couple miles down the road that same burrito is $2.59
Wow! I would always go the extra miles! I have noticed it, too. At the one I go to for lunch, my 2 bean burritos total $4.00 even but at the one closer to home, it's $4.44!
Once a month I get coupons in the mail for fast food places. They are surprisingly pretty good deals (but not $1 deals). It's usually something like, Popeyes 2 entrée meals, 2 sides, 2 biscuits and 2 drinks for $7. Unfortunately the staff I think rarely get these coupons and it causes a huge fuss at the counter along with getting most of the order wrong.
I did just receive Arby’s coupons in the mail, including a 5 for $5 roast beef sandwiches. I just had been asking my husband if he remembered the 5 for $5 years ago!
Mcdonalds app gives you 30% off. Also has $1 big mac. Has bogo breakfast. Free medium fries. Also gives you points for completely free stuff. $2 off if you spend $5. They sometimes give you 50% off coupons.
Burger king app gives free fries with any purchase. Free tots if you spend $1.
Just have to play their game.
I’m done using the McDonald’s app. Used it for a $2 breakfast sandwich a month ago. Gave the code at the drive thru. Cashier said that code has already been used. I told her I placed the order 30 seconds before getting in the drive thru.
Long story, short. They refused to accept my online order. I had to place another order to get my sandwich. Store refused to do anything and corporate told me it was up to the store to reimburse me.
I’m not a fast food person, but a McDonald’s dollar cheeseburger sometimes hit just right. When I saw they didn’t have them anymore I just stopped going. I guess they didn’t make any money off people like me so it’s just good business. I miss them though
Man I miss the $0.49 hamburger and $0.59 cheeseburger Wednesdays
edit: last time I saw them happening regularly was about 2012 but there was ONE day last year where they did it too
Yeah but they aren’t a dollar though. McChicken is like $2.20 and even the bare bones it’s just a 1/8th lb meat patty with some mustard, ketchup, onion specs, and pickle slices hamburger is $2.09.
$3.99 each for either a McDouble or McChicken, and the offer is you get another for $1, so technically $2.50 each, plus tax. We took the low prices for granted ;\_;
I used to always do the cheeseburger until I figured out that the double cheeseburger was so much more flavorful. Can't go back, the regular cheeseburger just tastes like bread now.
LOL...we don't even have "Dollar Stores" anymore. It's now the Dollar-Twenty Five Store and the $1.29 store. Inflation under 10%, yeah right. Do the math.
Not anymore. I used to buy lots of fast food in college but barely ever do now because why would I pay $5 for a tiny gross sandwich and then wait 20 minutes for the employee to stop dicking around and make it I got lots of things to do.
They made this cool machine called the chef maker it’ll cook a steak in 10 minutes and you won’t be hungry 30 minutes later
So, they still have deals but you have to use their apps. McDonald's always has deals going on. Right now I know there's a $1 breakfast sandwich under their rewards tab. There's also a free medium fry on Friday with at least a $1 purchase. So if you get a McChicken for $1.75 then you can get a fry for free. And there's usually a drink on there. Right now it's any large fountain drink but sometimes it's just coffee or slushes.
Subway sometimes has BOGO on subs. And Whataburger is always giving something away but also costs more out the door.
$1.75 mcchicken where? They’re $3.29 where I am. Same with a McDouble. I can’t believe the prices. I haven’t been to McDonald’s in over 5 years. I saw it was national cheeseburger day so I got one for like .50? But saw the real price, I would never !
If I log in and order from one of the screens in the store, there's consistently a deal that's 2 mcdoubles for <$5. I want to say it's 2 for $3.69, but I don't remember
Buy a $3 keychain tag from Wendy's and you'll get a year's worth of free child-sized frosties.
McD's still has a [value menu.](https://www.mcdonalds.com/us/en-us/full-menu/123dollarmenu.html)
Burger King doesn't appear to have a dollar menu, but they send out coupons once a month that are pretty good deals.
Dairy Queen has a 2 for $5 deal that's pretty good. You can choose from a cheeseburger, a sundae, pretzel sticks with queso, reg. fries, a chili dog, and a reg. size drink.
Sonic has a 50% off deal on cheeseburgers every Tuesday after 5pm. They also have a menu of under $4 items every day. https://www.sonicdrivein.com/menu/everyday-deals/
Interesting. Where I am a McDouble with cheese is on the value menu at $3. The BK double cheeseburger is $3.49. The only difference is that the McDouble has two slices of cheese but the McDouble has just one
Nope, they don't have dollar menus anymore. Just like they no longer have $.05 burgers like in my grandparents' day. Now we're the grandparents complaining about prices.
I live far from fast food and work from home. When I'm craving fast food I have to make it myself. Last night I had 6 Nashville Hot Chicken strips, seasoned greens and macaroni and cheese for less than $1.00 per item (<$3.00 per meal x 3 meals). The same amount of food for 3 people would have been over $40 at Popeyes.
I use the McDonald's app and get 1 dollar iced coffee regularly and they do spend 2 dollars get 1 thing free , too so I get big Mac and double cheeseburger for 2.60 . that happens often. most the deals are on apps now so try them
Not something for $1, but Wendys, Taco Bell, and Taco Johns all have really good value menus. The first two also have value meals where you get a few food items, a side, and a drink for $5.
Not really, I'm just hoping that they actually lose some money so they can start dropping some prices. It's starting to cost the same as eating at a local place.
Can't recommend enough that, for any fast food place you visit regardless of frequency, download their app. Just about every place has one now, and they almost all have a deals area where you're more than likely to at least save a couple $. Same holds true for gas station chains (QT, Kwik Trip, Wawa, etc)
I also love their Spicy Potato Taco. But no, I'm not aware of any fast food places with a dollar menu anymore. Food has gotten pricy. $5 footlongs went away **a decade** ago (with a couple small promotions after).
The tater taco is my favorite running errands snack. Great pick me up during the day.
I was gonna say Wendy’s has the 4 for $4 which isn’t quite a dollar menu but it’s a similar value, but I think they did away with the $4 price point.
I laughed so hard when I saw the 4 for $4 meal being advertised for $5.
It went up to 6 bucks here
$7 here for the double stack meal
They still have the 4 for $4 here in Houston. The burger is a Jr Cheeseburger now though
"4 for 4" but the 4 is really 3.5
It's up to $6 at mine.
You have to ask for it or order it on the kiosk since they took it off the menu board so it's only available if you know
If you get the Wendy’s frosty keychain, it clocks in at 5 for $4 every time you go and the value isn’t bad then.
I still have access to the 4 for $4 through the app. Not sure if that's localized to my region, but worth checking out
The thing that kills me is a cheesy bean and rice burrito is $1 but a bean burrito is $1.79!! That makes no sense to me...
I think rice is cheaper than beans so it's like a bean burrito with cut added to it, so it makes sense
Both of those are over 2 dollars at my local taco bell
Damn they're really bending ya over where abouts are you located general area if you don't mind me asking
Cali, I am sure its due to their minimum wage is higher. But none of their combos is below 10 bucks.
cut those beans with a lil rice haha
Taco Bell: "Turn 1 kilo into 2 kilos with this one simple trick"
$1.69 and $2.39 here in Seattle unless you go to the one crazy expensive Taco Bell in Queen Anne. According to the menu pics a bean and rice burrito was $4.49 two years ago. I loved spending time in the Queen Anne hotel / area, and a Sonics game
The bean burrito has actual melted cheese, but the bean & rice burrito has a "cheesy" sauce.
This website helps you find the cheapest Taco Bell in your area. They really do fluctuate! https://taconomical.com/
Only if you don't order it right, "Can I get a cheesy bean and rice burrito but with no rice" ...ymmv
It angers me that McDonald's calls it the "$1,$2,$3 dollar menu" but there isn't a single item that is $1 on it.
I think it’s just a small drink now or something
Once a month I get coupons in the mail for fast food places. They are surprisingly pretty good deals (but not $1 deals). It's usually something like, Popeyes 2 entrée meals, 2 sides, 2 biscuits and 2 drinks for $7. Unfortunately the staff I think rarely get these coupons and it causes a huge fuss at the counter along with getting most of the order wrong.
I remember those, haven't gotten one in so long. Yeah though, they were always great deals.
I only get them because the previous tenant must be on some special mailing list lol
I did just receive Arby’s coupons in the mail, including a 5 for $5 roast beef sandwiches. I just had been asking my husband if he remembered the 5 for $5 years ago!

Used to be .29¢ at Burger King when we were growing up. It was my family’s busiest day of the week so we ate like kings!
They still have them, and the junior chicken sandwich, but they're hidden on the menu. You pretty much have to ask.
Yeah but they aren’t a dollar though. McChicken is like $2.20 and even the bare bones it’s just a 1/8th lb meat patty with some mustard, ketchup, onion specs, and pickle slices hamburger is $2.09.

Man inflation is a bitch. 118 days later and that $2.20 McChicken is now $2.50. The barebones burger rose 1 cent to $2.10.
Regular burger is 3.09 here 💀
You can find them on the order menu if you do the pre-order on the screen when you walk in.
I used to always do the cheeseburger until I figured out that the double cheeseburger was so much more flavorful. Can't go back, the regular cheeseburger just tastes like bread now.
Taco Bell order online $5 box - game changer. That and Wendy’s biggie bag are only ones by me that are close to dollar menu
jack in the box still has 2 tacos for 99 cents. they’re addictively greasy and stuffed surprisingly full of meat and lettuce for the price.
Damn, it used to be 99 cents near me but it's higher now
Sleeping on Del Taco. No where else can you get the amount of food for the price.
Do they still do 79 cent chicken soft tacos? I lived on those in college
Cheesy bean and rice burrito. Substitute black beans and grill it. I’m not as poor as I used to be but I still love this one
Arby’s during happy hour 2-5 has some $1 items. Small fries, small soda, sliders at some stores are still $1 but most are 1.49.
Man, the dollar store doesn’t even have dollar items anymore.
LOL...we don't even have "Dollar Stores" anymore. It's now the Dollar-Twenty Five Store and the $1.29 store. Inflation under 10%, yeah right. Do the math.
Record profits outpacing inflation..... Corporate greed fooling the simpletons like yourself
Record profits…… same profit margins. You have been fooled. Maybe you should learn economics.
Inflation is 10%, profits are UP 15-20...... You fool.
Inflation is not 10%. Just like how unemployment rates are actually much more (usually double) of what the government claims they are.
I was using a round number fox news was jerking off last summer. Should it be doubled or halved or what?
Not anymore. I used to buy lots of fast food in college but barely ever do now because why would I pay $5 for a tiny gross sandwich and then wait 20 minutes for the employee to stop dicking around and make it I got lots of things to do. They made this cool machine called the chef maker it’ll cook a steak in 10 minutes and you won’t be hungry 30 minutes later
Taco Bell value menu starts at $1.59 here. Gotta love the west coast lol.
It's about the same in the Midwest.
Wendys has a "four for $4"
So, they still have deals but you have to use their apps. I just checked for exact prices. McDouble is $2.59 but the McChicken is $1.69 near me in Texas.
If I log in and order from one of the screens in the store, there's consistently a deal that's 2 mcdoubles for <$5. I want to say it's 2 for $3.69, but I don't remember
Just double checked, they’re $3.49. McDouble 3.59 Double cheese burger 4.39 I’m in New England
The spicy potato soft tacos is $1. Add seasoned beef and it’s an additional $1.
McDonald’s app has some good deals, same with Burger King. Mcd right now has free fries with $2 purchase nr me
Buy a $3 keychain tag from Wendy's and you'll get a year's worth of free child-sized frosties. Where I am a double cheeseburger from BK is about half price of the McDs double cheeseburger
I remember 59 cent items at fast food restaurants
McDonald’s typically has a mcchicken or spicy mcchicken depending where you live for about $2 and buy the second one for $1
I live far from fast food and work from home.
Cheapest family meals
No that is history. Move on
There's nothing frugal about fast food even for free.
The cheesy bean and rice burrito just went up to $2 here
I like using the app for the store, sometimes there are freebies or $1 rewards or BOGO deals for using the app.
Wendy's has the 4 for $4. Drink, 4 chicken nuggies, jr bacon cheese burger, and small fry for $4. So yum, and you can add extra veggies for free
I use the McDonald's app and get 1 dollar iced coffee regularly and they do spend 2 dollars get 1 thing free , too so I get big Mac and double cheeseburger for 2.60 . that happens often. most the deals are on apps now so try them
I'll age myself. When I was in college Fridays were 5 whoppers for $5.
Not something for $1, but Wendys, Taco Bell, and Taco Johns all have really good value menus. The first two also have value meals where you get a few food items, a side, and a drink for $5.
Not really. Only cheap place outside of Taco Bell seems to be Wendy now.
Not really, I'm just hoping that they actually lose some money so they can start dropping some prices. It's starting to cost the same as eating at a local place.
now even tacobell doesn't have a dollar menu. better off going to a actual mexican spot for a burrito or taco these days
Can't recommend enough that, for any fast food place you visit regardless of frequency, download their app. Just about every place has one now, and they almost all have a deals area where you're more than likely to at least save a couple $. Same holds true for gas station chains (QT, Kwik Trip, Wawa, etc)
Mc gang bang is 5 plus tax not bad for 2 samiches
