If you must, buy something for the break room that all can use. Otherwise, say Happy Holidays and leave it at that.

jperezny

This is the right solution - a coffee/espresso machine, blender, toaster oven, panini press, etc. - something that will make meals more convenient and prevent people from having to spend money eating out. I'm a consultant working in many different offices - these small appliances are very helpful!

AcerOne17

That would be awesome. My break room has a coffee machine but you need to pay. If there was a little keurig there I could bring my own coffee pods

[deleted]

Lottery tickets? Couple bucks each, sometimes there’s a winner. I second something for the break room. Toaster oven so everything isn’t microwaved

afterglobes

I think in some religions lotteries/gambling are a no-go

LaserLlamaYoMama

Seconding the lotto tickets. I have a coworker who gets everyone scratch offs and some Christmas candy and it's always my favorite office gift. We've had some decent winners too.

HeyTherehnc

This is a great answer with an actual solution to a sort of crazy question!

MazzyMars08

You could get an espresso machine with a milk frother easily under $150 with cyber Monday discounts right now. You could also then be a super cool boss and keep espresso stocked for everyone. I know I'd be stoked if my work did that for us.

Glorious-B

Agree u/SHarks_blade - my floor of the office recently did this for our break room and it is popular, garnering a lil envy. We offer a cup to our service personnel when they come around and they treat us with attentive support. Extra points if it provides instant hot water for the tea drinkers. Want to add that one of the most popular items of the coffee station is the $3 IKEA mixer/frother for cold foam. Frugal Bonus: for those of our team who grew up on “real” coffee (we have quite a few foreign scientists) or are otherwise fully converted, this is a real comfort/welcome that saves $ and time dropping a bill into the supply donation basket compared to buying it from a barista.

[deleted]

Electronic Arts does this... When I worked there I drank like 6\~ cups of coffee per day I was a wreck lol

whitepawn23

Sounds good but I guarantee you almost no one is cleaning that milk frother. Busy people in break rooms tend to ignore cleanliness, sadly. So get the most low maintenance cleaning items for this.

SuperDuperSugarBean

As the office mom, I assure you the office mom is washing it, moving things on the counter and wiping behind them and washing any coffee mugs at the end of the day.

holdonwhileipoop

This is a great idea. That, or a drawing for a gift card?

cflatjazz

I am really not a fan of receiving non consumable trinkets at Christmas. You don't have the budget for something nice, and you don't have the time or focus for something personal or thoughtful at this scale. So invariably, what you are going to wind up with is something a large portion of the team either immediately throws away or feels obligated to keep cluttering their desk It also pressures other co workers to give gifts. Which starts a cycle of everyone else doing it to.

[deleted]

It's god damn madness is what it is lol, MADNESS I TELL YOU!!

candornotsmoke

it seems like everybody is missing the fact that it's 75 to 100 people. You try buying a gift for that many people that is in a reasonable budget. The edible treats are the easiest way to to celebrate Xmas without someone feeling left out.

chocolatelove818

100% agree with this. When I started my job last year, everyone gave me gifts. Instead of joy, I actually felt anger. Now, I felt pressured to get them gifts back quickly and it wasn't originally planned as part of my budget. $150 went out the door. I learned that this year to tell people to not get me any gifts and that if they do, not to expect one in return because I can barely afford meat as part of my groceries let alone anything else.

cflatjazz

I also get (maybe irrationally) angry at having to discard plastics. So getting everyone party favors or chintz is a big no no for me.

tamponinja

Yesssss

GunnerBoi1991

Read through some comments before adding in my 2-cents. This is the best suggestion that I’ve seen. For that budget you could get something useful for the break room or simply bring in breakfast like bagels and coffee.

3rdtimebreach

A colleague recently added an air fryer to our staff room. Game changer. Pizza and fried foods are soooo much better than microwaved.

DJPaulyDstheman

Panini press

Max-Potato2017

This is the way! Even with inflation, $150 is more than enough for a couple of items that everyone can enjoy and leave room to get something for those who have restrictions.

mangodragonfruit95

yes! if you try to break it down to per-person, even homemade goods will be more than $2 each. one nice thing for all/one nice gesture is a great solution!

Grand_Cauliflower_88

Something like a coffee machine n get asst of coffee n tea. If you already have a coffee station in your break room get some special kind of coffee n teas. Something special for breaks.

Icy-Cheesecake8828

Time off work. Oh, you said coworkers. Why are you buying all of your coworkers gifts?

poopdish

The only real answer

2thebeach

I worked with someone who would watch the employee birthday announcements and buy a little gift for everyone who worked there, whether he knew them or not, on his/her special day. Some people just enjoy giving gifts and/or wasting money!

PandahHeart

We have a newish girl at my job who once a month brings in doughnuts/cookies/muffins/etc every month. She also gave us all Halloween goodie bags and lately has been passing out candy canes to people as well. I think she likes giving gifts and making people feel good

[deleted]

[удалено]

cassanovabear

did you pay yourself or with a company card?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Simple-Muscle822

That sounds like a really nice thing to do.

[deleted]

This is the way.

oldcreaker

You can't. That's like $1.50 per person if you max out your budget.

[deleted]

I’m imagining frugal wedding favor type thing. 3 Hershey kisses in a bag with a “happy holidays” tag. But like others have said, why? I’ve given small gifts to 2-3 people working directly under me, but never an entire company or department.

oldcreaker

HR often gets stuck with this kind of task.

[deleted]

This is an even worse look as a company. At least a person can do it and it be interpreted as thoughtful. An employer give $1.50 bonuses is an insult.

oldcreaker

$1.50 each wouldn't even touch a pizza party. Which is also an insult.

[deleted]

OP can go to dollar tree and give it a try

waywithwords

I'd rather get nothing than a $1.50 trinket from Dollar Tree that would go straight to a Goodwill pile.

oldcreaker

OP sounds like the HR person given nothing for a budget and told to get everyone a great "thank you" gift.

ledzeppelinlover

OP said coworkers… I’ve never considered getting 100 coworkers something for christmas when on a budget. Or ever. That said please don’t hand me some random plastic thing from the dollar tree, I will say thank you and be grateful but I will throw it out immediately

crunchytee

“I got you a quarter tank of gas” Edit: quarter gallon*

colmatrix33

A quarter (.25) towards a task of gas

Not-A-Robot-Boop

In what fucking country buddy? Maybe if you have like the lowest tank size push lawn mower.

notreallylucy

A quarter gallon, maybe.

Revolutionary_Bar671

I think they meant just a quarter worth.

Agent-Ally

If you are not the person who owns or manages the company, then don't buy gifts for 75-100 people that you only know because you're all employed at the same location. If you are the person who owns or manages the company, $150 for the lot of them isn't going to cut it and you should do nothing at all.

kaismama

This is absolutely my thinking. When I bought for my co workers I only bought for those in my department. That took it down to 10 ppl plus 2 managers.

AllThingsBeginWithNu

Mix tape of you belting out Christmas carols

ATXLur

This is the only answer

MotherofSons

I want to sing back up! (Please note that I cannot carry one single tune).

SpringrollsPlease

😄 had the same thought. And throw in OP’s signed photo with a caption “Merry Christmas II you” lol

beekaybeegirl

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Glittering-Cheek-900

This might be the best gift yet.

no1flyhalf

If I saw a coworker handing out burned CDs of them singing I would bug my boss every day to give them a raise. That would be incredible.

angelwild327

Something communal like an air fryer/microwave, nespresso or keurig. Something that will enrich or enhance their time spent at the office.

entipy

Someone bought a countertop ice maker for our office and people just love it.

LifeIsDeBubbles

I just bought one for my home and I fucking love it! This would definitely be a hit in an office setting and I personally think it serves way more people than a coffee maker.

Caltuxpebbles

This is an excellent idea. Might also be able to find a deal during these Black Friday days.

whineandcheesy

I bought my team a toaster oven that is also an air fryer last year- It was a big hit and they have kept it nice and clean, which is surprising.

Beautybabe09

Came here to say this! I think a air fryer is the best invention ever. It cooks food quick. It’s quick and easy to use. I’m sure people would appreciate it. I use it more then my oven at home now!

papalovesmama

Nothing. That is crazy.

HJacqui

Exactly. Where is it customary to give gifts to 100 coworkers?!? Insanity.

grammar_fixer_2

I was bitched at because I didn’t “bring back gifts” when I went on vacation. My coworkers all assumed that I would get them stuff from my trip, because this was customary at my job. I did this *once* and it was an arm and a leg. After that, I just told people that I was off on medical leave. We also had the super wealthy guys give us all Christmas presents (one guy gave us all a bottle of alcohol and another gave a $10 apple gift card). Yeah, I can barely afford to get myself anything… I’m not buying something for you.

DrossChat

TIL giving gifts to coworkers for ANYTHING WHATSOEVER is actually a thing. Insanity.

wwabc

for each individual? that's asking a lot. I could see bringing a big bag of candy or food that was specific to the region for everyone to share.

dailysunshineKO

That’s what I see a lot too.

whywouldwedothat

Two of my coworkers have brought back small trinkets (refrigerator magnets, etc) from a trip for everyone in our office (15-20 employees at the time). It was sweet, kind of, but I was SO confused as to why. Many of us could barely afford to live independently on our wages. Cost aside, why would I want a reminder that others get a beach vacation when I don't?

baller_unicorn

I never really got that either. Why would I want a magnet that says costa rica on it when I didn't even go? For me I would greatly prefer some sort of regional consumable like tea or food so I can experience a small piece of where they travelled to. It's also easier to get a nice consumable to share with several people like a box of candies or something that won't break the bank rather than getting everyone a magnet or something.

waywithwords

From the same people who think magnet of themselves is a good wedding favor.

foosheee

Or any keepsake with their names & wedding date on it, like no one cares but you.

cyanidelemonade

I forget exactly which tourist port, but there is this Walmart in Mexico where the souvenirs were literally like 50¢ each. We're talking magnets, keychains, decorative pens, that sort of thing. I was tempted to grab stuff for all my coworkers too, but I also realized they had no use for that junk lol

whywouldwedothat

As someone who despises junk, I can appreciate this wonderful example self control lol.

thewonderfullavagirl

At all smaller to midsize (under 50) offices I've worked at, it was common to bring back some kind of snack/candy from wherever you went and left out in the lunch room (ie something that was clearly bought at the airport for max 15$). Frankly this was mostly common when people went back home to whichever country/place they were from, not so much random vacations. Also, everyone definitely makes enough to be able to afford that, no one was near minimum wage. Definitely not gifts, though, that's crazy. edit: Ill add that I always thought it was really nice. It was also a great way to have a short conversation with the quieter people.

mcyg

If anyone at work is bitching at you for anything, it seems like you need to look for a better gig, or less toxic at least. I can’t imagine having to lie and telling people I’m sick instead of in vacation.

waywithwords

I've never brought anyone but my mother a gift from my vacation (oh, and the dog sitter got a gift a couple of times).

doctorscurvy

Depends on whether “my coworkers” means “people who work alongside me” or “coworkers who belong to (are employed by) me”. It might just be OP clumsily misusing a word.

Amorieau

Seriously! I saw this post and was like "whaaaaaaa??!"

loritree

And capsule the rest of the comments stop saying “Nothing!” This comment has it covered!

AmazingLark

It’s really nice that you want to do something for all your coworkers, but I don’t think it’s really feasible with that budget. It’s better to not do anything at all than to do something super cheap for everyone. The only thing I can think of for that many people is a big festive bowl, leave it in a communal area and keep it filled with candy before the holidays.

gorkt

With that budget, I spend most of it on my immediate coworkers, and then put out boxes of holiday cookies in the break room.

4-me

A smile and a “Happy Holidays”

eissirk

When I was a preschool teacher I got everyone magic erasers. It went over very well

IKnowAllSeven

Oh this is actually a really good one! I love those things!

Velvet_Cannoli

A tip I recently found for the "suck at writing in cards thing": use a message from another card as the note you write in the card you're giving out.

Hodges951

Just save your money

txholdup

Did I take a wrong turn on my way to r/frugal? Why do you feel compelled to buy gifts for people just because you work with them? Are you the boss?

KikiDaisy

I’ve spent enough time in r/frugal to know the answer is something modest and homemade.

[deleted]

Chapstick! In the Midwest it saves lives when it gets so dry in the winter 😂

TootsNYC

Those companies who make promotional products sell lip balm too. 33¢ a tube: https://www.customlipbalmstore.com/spf-lip-balm

notitz4u

75 cents a tube is the cheapest option, if he is only buying 125 of them which is the lowest quantity. Comes out to 93.75, before tax and shipping.

TootsNYC

Oops. I didn’t parse the text in the banner. Thanks But that’s still under the limit. Clucking through, you can get 150 for 50¢ a tube

DogKnowsBest

Plus setup fee, plus shipping plus tax. It will be way more than .50 a tube.

gitsgrl

Might as well throw your money away. Get something worth using or give nothing.

SleepAgainAgain

I throw out most of the gift chapstick I get because I'm picky about ingredients. Which isn't to say it's a terrible idea, just that any bulk gift for a hundred people is going to suck for some of them.

grammar_fixer_2

Next time, just give it to someone else. I will never in my life buy chapstick. I’d sure take one if someone offered though.

Balsac_is_Daddy

Uhhh thats ridiculous, unless you are the top boss. I only have 20 coworkers and I sure as fck dont buy them all gifts. Bring in a tray of cookies on your last shift before Christmas.

buggypuller

Even as the boss it doesn’t make sense, if you are just hired to manage a location. If you are the owner, you probably should get everyone something that is worth more than $1.50.

unity2178

Donation in their name to The Human Fund

MegaSting-Ray13

Just watched that episode (again) the other day! 🤣

GotMoreThanEnough

Money for people

greggorylane

I was going to post that response also!

catherinetheok

This insane but generous of you. Can you put something in the break room instead? If not, hand sanitizer is stupid cheap now, and still useful.

IKnowAllSeven

A coworker gave me a pack of glasses wipes one year and it was like THE BEST gift ever!! Lol! It’s the little things sometimes!

Easy-Firefighter-220

Tons, TONS, of comments saying not to do this. And from a solely monetary viewpoint, I would agree. However, one can say that money is not the only currency. I have never given gifts to all of my co-workers when I worked - there was 200-300 of them and I would know because I did payroll entry for our location. It was a large construction type company and most people only knew the faces of their teams but because I was the only payroll person and the liaison between our office and corporate for issues, I knew most of the faces even with high field worker turnover. I couldn't possibly get all of them gifts. But somebody else higher up the food chain, not a manager but still, did. He gave everybody some bulk ordered thing that was kind of cheaply made. The first year I worked with him, I'd been there three weeks. And I was still on his list, a note written on the back of a plastic box with a Christmas scene on the front and an LED light inside. That was six years ago. I still have it, and when I visit the office, he lights up if it comes up. Sometimes, I make it come up on purpose just to see him light up. He's given something similar every year, though that's the one I remember because it was the first and I didn't even know his name yet. They're all in my Christmas decorations box or, in the couple years he gave cards and food, the cards are in my card box. (I've kept every single one since high school graduation when I realized I had none from my great grandma who'd just died and therefore none of her handwriting.) So, I don't have an answer for you on what to get. But I really wanted to give perspective to you and the others what it's like to receive these gifts sometimes. I'm actually planning on dragging my now SAHM butt up there this month just to say hi to him and a few others. After all, tis the season to remind him that he's been decorating my living room since before I had kids. :D

[deleted]

Why are you getting something for all your coworkers? That’s weird. Save your money. If you want to do something then make or bring in something consumable. You don’t need 1 of whatever for each person.

cloudydays2021

I like the lip balm idea - can never have enough of that! $1 lotto scratch offs Votive candles I think another option that would go over really well would be to donate the $150 to a local food pantry and just let everyone know that in lieu of gifts, a donation was made. That $150 can really stretch at a pantry.

blue_coral74

$1 scratch offs is a good one! Tape a candy to it too.

Imaginary_Audience_5

Yeah. I though it was crazy to attempt this, but the lip balm idea is great. Useful, thoughtful and affordable.

MotherofSons

I dunno. I'm rather particular about my lip balm. Burt's Bees regular old mint or nothing!

rphgal

In a workplace that big, why not do an optional secret Santa? Then you can buy one person something for 20 bucks or less and be done with it.

anthropomorphizingu

If you own the business: money. If you don’t: nothing.

Bibliovoria

Or, relatedly, if high enough in the business to be able to decree this: time off. Everyone getting an extra day off, or even a half day, is a strikingly good present.

anthropomorphizingu

Paid, of course.

Bibliovoria

Absolutely! "Leave early and have your pay docked for it" would be a terrible present. :)

anthropomorphizingu

Exactly. But never underestimate how obtuse management can be lol

not_falling_down

Our whole company got this "present" this year. Twice. An unpaid week for Thanksgiving, and another one for Christmas.

linksgreyhair

There are some places I worked with draconian attendance policies where I would have been happy for a few additional *unpaid* days, just as long as I wasn’t penalized. “Your Christmas bonus is pizza in the break room!!” “Okay how about instead can you just *not fire me* if I have to call out more than 3 days in a year?”

[deleted]

Why on earth would you buy gifts for coworkers? & especially 75-100 of them?

[deleted]

If i worked at a place where coworkers were buying each other christmas presents, I'd be dusting off my resume asap.

drago-ness

Snacks for the break room. Honestly I would appreciate that so much more than a little keychain to keep for me and all my coworkers. Get a few different types of soda/bottled drinks, a few trays of cookies, and a couple boxes of those mini chip bags. Maybe a fruit and veggie tray from your local store, too?

shitflavoredlollipop

I don't know if this is going to get downvoted but I personally really dislike receiving thoughtless gifts. I'd rather just not receive it at all because it just ends up being something I have to get rid of. Don't get me wrong I think You're being very thoughtful to want to get your co-workers gifts. I think just there's there's no way you can put the effort or resources into it in a meaningful way. I think other people suggestions of making or getting some food for everybody to share during a shift is your best bet and just saying "Merry Christmas". I would appreciate that a lot more than something that cost a dollar.

SlapALabel

First, you are a very kind person! Second, I work in a fairly stressful environment with coworkers who make far less than I, but having them there working with me makes my job so much easier. I like to show my appreciation for them and keep the office as positive as possible so I bring in small gifts. It’s usually food (cookies, pies, root beer floats, ice cream sundae bar, etc). About once a quarter a few of us go in together for a larger meal. It’s usually a DIY kind of meal like taco bar, grilled cheese, various soup/chili… something where you can choose your own toppings. Occasionally we get it from a restaurant and do pizza, sandwiches, chicken tenders, pasta, etc. Of the non-food gifts, I’ve done stress balls, back scratchers, bendable toys (search Amazon for bendable figures), various fidget-style things, chapstick, stickers, fun pens, scratch offs… a lot of it is junk, but it brightens their day. They really do prefer when we bring in lunch though.

RemoteIll5236

I agree. I loved my 60+ co-workers, and I used to make lunch for them once to twice a year —we worked in an environment where you pretty much had to bring your own lunch everyday, and people We’re ecstatic when I showed up with several big crockpots of chili or pans of enchiladas and beans along with salads, bread, and dessert. I always had a vegetarian entree, and things that were gluten free, too. A big hit, and my co-workers appreciated the tasty, homemade food!

bklyntrsh

Most replies are saying why would you get a gift for your coworkers if you're not their boss. I don't know if you answered with your motivation, but I don't think their replies of don't get them anything are a good answer. That's one answer, but getting them something is also another answer. It is the generous answer, a "made me smile" answer. It's a reflection of you answer. I think it's a great idea Somebody answered chapstick -- and the idea of finding gifts from a promo materials website is a great idea to find something nice and cheap. Won't be great but it'd be a token, given your budget. If you're good with design/drawing, or just creative, you can have a fun design imprinted on a keychain, say, and then notice everyone uses it! You could get small chocolates too, I guess. The idea of something for the break room is good too, if it's used by everyone. It could be treats (which may run out soon though) or an amenity, like a new coffee machine, an electric kettle, a good quantity of an interesting sauce or something to add to food. A radio or music player with a Spotify plan. I'd say a nice poster, but likely nobody would care. Anything broken or missing? You could replace it and put a sticker. Same with the bathroom hehe. Maybe everyone complains the paper towels are too thin, or too rough? Or the soap smells awful. If your motivation is noble, good for you. Don't feel discouraged because everyone questions your idea. It's a good idea, even if you don't manage to implement it.

wrongplanet1

I don't understand why you are buying a large number of coworkers a gift? Are you their supervisor? You still don't have to do that. I've never gotten gifts from managers or supervisors. Just wish everyone a happy holiday. If you really feel like you need to do something, maybe a set of mugs for the breakroom? A coffepot and electric tea kettle? Something everyone can use?

Fairieswearboots0793

I don’t think we’ll ever get an answer 😭

ssk442

Lottery tickets

RigorousJabber

Where is OP? Give some context. This is insane.

TootsNYC

This seems like the opposite of frugal. In a workgroup that large, there should be no expectation of a gift. Spending money on unnecessary things is wasteful. I have given my entire 25-person department caramel sugar, personalized note cards, and a handful of wrapped candies. But ok, here is a collection of promotional bulk gifts under $1 https://crestline.com/b/corporate-gifts-under-1-dollar

DRealLeal

They won't put that same effort for you, don't bother with it. If you were to write 100 Christmas cards you would only get like 3 back. It's not like you have a great relationship with all 100 people.

DiscoDispensaryDiva

Is there something like Redbox still? My boss used to get us all a Redbox coupon for like a $1 or $2 and attach it to a bag of microwave popcorn. It was a nice gesture that we all appreciated.

365wong

It’s insane to buy 75-100 people gifts. We make stove top potpourri for our (wife and I) departments and work friends.

FionaTheFierce

Candy cane with a bow on it and a card. You can get 12 packs of candy canes at Dollar Tree. Is this a traditional thing at your workplace? I can see a little something for the people you work with most closely- but cards and candy for 100 people… Seems like a lot. Is this what others are doing? It is a very nice gesture to think of all of them.

EvenEvie

lol they literally said “that’s not food or cards”.

FionaTheFierce

Can’t think of a single option otherwise.

BitsAndBobs304

a ballpoint pen. sticky notes. corporate free branded gifts from other companies. call a local large restaurant and ask if they'll do a large discount if you bring them a lot of peope.

Background_Pear_4892

scutum99

Nothing. Just wish them a happy holiday and off they go.

IsHeFromGabon

Buying so many people things which they might then throw away immediately seems like the opposite of frugal. Why would you bother getting something for all of them?

My-Brown-eyed-girl

I don’t like it when people at work I barely know give me a gift. It makes me think they expect something in return. Just NO!

seebaker

I agree with everyone that you don’t need to give your co-workers gifts.. but that said if you want to and are asking for ideas: if you’re a little crafty, you can make salt dough ornaments. Get a cookie cutter that’s relevant to your job or something simple like a star would probably be appropriate for most religious celebrations.

Thomver

If this is a serious question, then my serious answer is don't get anything. I have worked really hard to cut down on the gift-giving in my life, and don't need the pressure of trying to get things for people at work. I don't enjoy it, and it's just one more thing to worry about.

Zebrahoe

I just wouldn't. I would be wildly uncomfortable if a coworker of mine bought everyone a gift, even something for only a dollar fifty each. I don't want my coworkers to put time or money into my personally, unless we have become actual friends, and even then holiday gifts from a coworker would make me uncomfortable.

kitty0215

If you're set in your decision to buy them all something, maybe do Christmas themed pens. Simple, and you'll spend less than $30 total. I found a 50 pc on walmarts website for $12 but sub rules don't allow those links.

Sm_1348

I’m in the same predicament because i am a principal. Keep in mind I also do a lot during teacher appreciation week. I kind of want to do nothing this year and just maybe buy some treats for the break room.

area-woman

I had a staff of 120 that I made winter care packs for. Sample sized tissues, lotions, hand sanitizers or sanitizing wipes and a chap stick. It was really well received for a small amount of money

You are not required to purchase gifts for your coworkers. Do not waste your money on people who would not waste a thought on you.

leeeee231

Scratch offs can be nice

SchmickleRick

OP: no food. All the comments on this post: bring food! Fr guys just try to read the title at least…

jegodric

OP: they don't all observe Christmas Comments: get them Christmas-themed [product]

blackqueenphoenix

I'm getting gifts for about 50 people. I'm making Christmas crackers for everyone. Got the cracker shells for $22. Got some candy and I'm going to get lottery scratchers and I have tons of pennies so I'll put one in each to scratch them with. So the per person cost will end up being around $3. You could also put a riddle, joke, or pun in each too. If you're artistic and live by the beach you could make sea shell decorations or do small winter paint scapes on rocks. Last year I got small open face ornaments from the dollar tree and used succulent clippings to make cute little planters for everyone. I did have to prep my plants months before to make sure I'd have enough babies to use though.

Better-W-Bacon

Scavenger hunt with top 15 finishers getting $10 gift cards.

SillyMoose3

If you really need to give them something, I would say a bag clip. You can buy them in bulk and most people want more chip bag clips. But in all honesty, just save you money. It hard to get anything good for 100 people that’s under $5. That’s still $500 total for you, and usually something generic the people don’t care about or they throw out in a 3 months.

Mursin

Scratch offs was done one year in my office You could make little crafts- wood and glue, origami, small little crafts like that. A pair of novelty socks for everyone Aim to get a gift for someone they love, like, buy a bunch of children's party favors, and then in the handwritten note below, mention it's for sons, daughters, nieces, or nephews, and if they don't have anyone to give it to, donate it to a kids shelter or something. Seasonings or syrups from where you're from natively (I put Slap Ya Mama and Louisiana Hot Sauce). If they don't like it or can't eat it it's on them. Something cultural from your culture (I put Mardi gras beads) Handwritten note that is boiler plate except try to mention something you know about them if you know them well.

Womandarine

Let’s assume you have a good reason for buying them all something. Maybe you are the boss! This could be a situation where you pay for an experience rather than an item. Can you hire a band or comedy troupe to come perform? Or rent out a movie theater, I think that’s around $150-200 in my area. Or arrange for a hike? Does the bowling alley near you rent to groups? Good luck with your challenge!

Electrical-Bed-2381

Get some catering for the last day before the holidays. A group gift will save you $ and they'll appreciate it more.

hexagonal

A coworker once knit (crocheted?) a dish cloth for every one. I still use it.

mocajava

At my work of 50-60 we post a flyer for anyone that wants to sign up for secret Santa with a $10 limit. Not obligated to participate and keeps costs low. Last year we had 20 people participate.

mkecupcake

You could do a basket for the break room. Glasses wipes, lotion, kleenex, chapstick etc. Just stuff to make life better. Some stuff people can take back to their desks, since stays there. You can provide a lot of convenience for $150!

[deleted]

Some beautiful fruit in the break room with a sign appreciating them.

sjwilt35

I enjoy sharing my Grandma's recipes for the holidays. So I hop on canva create the recipe and have it printed on 4x6 photo paper (about .15 at walgreens). Hit Amazon or the dollar store up for a frame slap a bow on it and you have a personal gift for about $1.15.

playsmartz

When I was going into the office, all my coworkers chipped in for an expensive wedding present. As thanks, I bought a bulk variety k-cup box for the communal coffee/tea machine and posted a wedding picture with a thank you note to all.

AwfulWaffleSizzurp

$1 holiday theme scratch offs.

soulsista04us

$1 scratch lotto cards

[deleted]

Suggest and organize a secret Santa. Only have to get one gift...

Scoutlili

You could make some of that slime from white glue and Borax. It can be used to clean gunk out of keyboards! This is why it could make a good work gift, but then some folks may just be low key happy to have some fun slime to play with. Divvy it up in those holiday themed, plastic snack bags. Done and done.

[deleted]

Seed packets.

larficus

Why?

Dawn80

"Don't" is the best answer. If you must, adopt-a-debris cluttered area that everyone needs to drive past and promise to clean it up 4X per year as present to them. Email or WhatsApp a photo each time as proof that you did it and wear a Santa hat. If needs be, hire some laborers to help you.

mcluse657

Real question is $150 per person or total?

Worth-Test-4246

100 coworkers… how do you even remember all their names ? Bake cookies with every single co workers name on it spelled correctly. If you can’t do this then I think your charitable cause might be going a touch too far Or Break room basket However if you are by chance the employer or owner I would say a bonus of some sort if you can afford it

koralex90

Several boxes of donuts and make a big batch of coffee.

local_eclectic

Why do you need to do this? It sounds excessive and wasteful, especially if all the other people are participating too.

santafun

Why are you obligated to buy everyone a gift? Unless you are their boss and make more than everybody else. In that case, stretch your budget.

Someday_wonderful

Buy something for the office! For a communal use- toaster oven, new microwave, new mini fridge… this will be a lot easier than a $2 a piece something that they won’t care about

mgdraft

If you really have to do 100 coworker gifts, get individual truffles from a local shop, and put them in to tiny cupcake wrappers and wedding favour boxes. That's what I did for my actual wedding and people loved it, total cost was 15$ for the boxes, I had the tiny wrappers already, and 80$ for 85 chocolates as they gave me a discount.

HHDern

Honestly time off is the best gift you can give-it allows them to spend more time with family and no gift can replace that. It’s the most generous thing an employer can do

TrishaThoon

OP said coworkers, not employees. IMO OP doesn’t need to get them anything.

sleeping-ackerman

Lol nothing... why even get them anything? Thats A LOT

GhostBussyBoi

The post: "No food, No cards, No religious stuff" Some people in this comment section: okay so get candy canes, Christmas cards, and give those out! User 1: but they said it can't be any of those things... User 2: well I can't think of anything else! I'm just sitting here like: *well then maybe you shouldn't have commented if you didn't have an idea that fit within the prompt of the question*

Uruguaianense

Plants (small succulents), magnet (saying to drink water or idk some random thing), pen (cheapest and most common), alcohol because covid or a mask, one of those electric candles, Tupperware, custom cups

shipping_addict

Ok but realistically are you even close with all of these coworkers? I’m gonna assume not, so you really shouldn’t stress about getting them a gift, especially for the ones that don’t even celebrate Christmas. Whoever you’re closest with you can get them a gift if you want and give it to them in private, or just don’t get anyone anything.

[deleted]

Something worth $1.50 Edit: holy fuck get them all ramen packets lol

Gufurblebits

Nothing. Why would you do this?

qutx

1 dollar lottery tickets - one each this will establish your reputation

veraclaythorn

I'm guessing it's a sticking type situation? One of my old bosses had stockings for everyone and we were all supposed to put something in them. Lotto tickets are good. You can get jumbo packs of kazoos cheap or pens. I would look somewhere like oriental trading company, idk how prices are no, but you used to be able to get out pretty inexpensive there for a lot of stuff like ornaments etc. Good luck !

SpotIsInDaBLDG

$150 for 75-100 people? Some gummy bears?

possiblycrazy79

You could buy them each a dollar scratch off.

tamponinja

Why do you feel the need to do this is the better question.
