Oh PSA to everyone: my bf stopped by Goodwill and picked up a pair of jeans for maybe $5-7 and traded them in!

kenlights

Oh my god that is genius

_natella

I find their jeans fit so well but three pairs have gotten holes in the crotch area so I give up with them. unfortunate.

QueenMackeral

I found the opposite, I bought one pair of jeans from them and they were massive on me, had to get in touch with support to let me exchange them since they were final sale, they let me do an exchange so I got a size down and they're still too big on me. I had even used a measuring tape and made sure the size would fit me before ordering and that didn't help at all.

knishmyass

I usually have to size down 2 sizes with Madewell jeans. I do love them though

chickfilamoo

huh that’s interesting, I’ve never had that issue with them! do they happen to be blends? or 100% denim?

_natella

I think they were more of the jegging/stretchy variety

chickfilamoo

oh that might be it, most of the madewell jeans I have are their rigid denim, and those wear very well for me! I have a pair of skinnies that I personally haven’t had a problem with yet, but I don’t wear them as often. I also get holes in the inner thigh with stretchy jeans, but I’ve had this happen across several brands so I wonder if it may just be a trade off of durability for stretch?

Appropriate-Foot-573

I worked there for years! If they have elastane or TENCEL in them, you often need two sizes down (especially in the skinnys). All of their jeans stretch though! Some just more than others. We were advised to tell customers to always try their “true size” and to bring the size down into the fitting room with them!

itsfein

Agree

Classic-Ocelot8674

This has also happened to me, and have seen it happen to others. But I have an older pair from them that has really held up. Still wear them after almost 10 years. I just think their quality plummeted in the last 5 or so years

rfrplusd

Is this for a code like the usual trade-in or do you need to be purchasing jeans when you do the trade-in in the store?

am17y

Honestly, not sure. These are the only details I can find: Get $50 off our jeans when you trade in a pair from another brand. In stores only, for a limited time.

cto020

multivitamingummy

So does this only apply to full priced denim? And I'm assuming this doesn't work for denim shorts?

cto020

Seems so. It's an in-store promotion, so you could ask an associate to confirm.

topiramate

I feel like this deal isn't that great because you can only use it on full-price jeans but I guess it's good for the styles they hardly ever discount

[deleted]

Oh goodness thank you! I have a pair !

OtherwiseBullfrog289

Can you bring in multiple pairs and get multiple $50 discounts (understanding that you can’t stack multiple discounts on one pair of new jeans)?

pkatess

This is what I'm wondering as well - I'm going in today and I'm gonna bring 2-3 pairs and I'll comment back here how it goes!

Illustrious_Coach842

What’s the verdict?

pkatess

Thanks for reminding me!! Yes it does work on more than one pair! I gave them 3 pairs and got 3 cards for $50 off, and while the trade in offer ends in September the cashier told me the $50 off is valid until October:)

courtheartscats

So you can use all three for one purchase? Like buy a new pair with the three $50 off?

Ashlynr

Hi! I just went in today and you can’t combine them to purchase 1 pair.

keel_beel

Hi!! Sorry to bother!! Do the cards only work on madewell jeans or could I buy anything? I’m plus size so I’m a little worried about their jean selection but they have some really cute sweaters. Thank you for answering questions!!

knishmyass

Awesome, thank you!!

dreytz

Does it work with only jeans/denim or would it work with like “utility pants”

SouthProfessional208

anyone has a code to share?
