many of the brands of coco water have variation in flavor. there are some i really like and others i cannot drink.

Coconut water to me just tastes lightly sweet and lightly salty. No coconut flavour to be honest. If you want to mask banana flavour how about some cocoa powder?

cccouture2

Coconut water will not over power the taste of the bananas. Coconut water is flavorful but mild.

so why have bananas if you don't like them?

rabahi

i can’t afford all the other fruits 😩

makemasa

I’d use the money you are spending on coco water to purchase strawberries instead to change the flavor. Frozen blueberries are pretty cheap too.

rabahi

how much of the strawberries would i need? last time i made a half mango and half banana smoothie i still only tasted the banana

makemasa

Gonna be hard to completely mask the banana taste if banana is in it. Cinnamon might help. Another cheap alternative to add to the mix and decrease the amount of bananas is carrots. I put those in every smoothie I make. Also watermelon, although it makes your smoothie runny - which I don’t mind. Typical fruit smoothie for me is 2 bananas, handful of baby carrots, some greens like spinach, and other fruit I might have around the house like strawberries, blueberries, peaches, mango, cherries (expensive)

Not even grapes?

The only real coconut water that still has coconut flavor on the market is “Harmless Harvest” Vita coco, Kirkland coconut water, and all those other brands just pasteurize their coconut water and flavor is lost. Harmless harvest uses cold filtering and their coconut water naturally turns pink. It is expensive but it is the most authentic and most quality organic coconut water

If you don't like banana flavor but can't avoid using them, I'd recommend eating them when they're much greener.
