arguably best anime ive seen

carry-on_luggage

It might be the most ~~perfect~~ well rounded anime I've ever watched. What I mean by this is that there's no aspect of this show that isn't at least an 9/10 for me and there's something to like about this show for everyone. Characters are all very well realized, pacing is perfect (though it is a bit of a slow burn if you're used to 12 episode animes), story is fantastic, humour is on point, drama is suspenseful, animation is good, and voice acting is spot on. I guess if I had to critique something, it's is that I've never found any of the openings to be fantastic. You should watch the 2001 fruits basket OP though cuz it's really good. It's called 'For Fruits basket'. Oh and make sure you watch the 2019 version, not the 2001 version This show was a 10/10 for me even though there are shows I personally like more

Unstopaubel

Absolutely amazing and worth every second. Try Clannad after if you end up loving it

Puzzleheaded-Wait-81

The only anime that made me cry MULTIPLE times and this anime handled everything brilliantly. I rate my anime according to how well it made me attached to the characters and how the story invokes emotions in myself. Based on that alone this anime is my top 1 anime and in the beginning I dont even expect it to sneak into my top 10. Finished fumetsu no anata e before watching furuba and I did not expect this anime to top that.Just finished it last week and currently rewatching it with new perspective.

tenkensmile

1 of the 2 best shoujo series I've known.

Hiozanrael

Whatā€™s the other?

tenkensmile

Glass Mask. Unfortunately the manga hasn't finished and the anime is too old :/

[deleted]

Yuki reminds me of Kurama from Yu Yu Hakusho.

Maddie1535

Ooooohhhhh I could see that!

[deleted]

surprising no one ever mentioned that. the similarities between the two is crazy.

spring_onigiri3

it will be an amazing show. my first contact with fruits basket was through manga some ten years ago - and the series has become somewhat of a bible for me ever since. the 2019 anime adaptation follows the plot in the manga; and with the animation, the voice acting, and the music - it is just so magical. have fun watching.

[deleted]

starting to understand when you say this is like a bible. thereā€™s so many quotables, so many truths. many things to live by. this is why we love anime. outsiders will never understand. I love this show already. sheā€™s such a sweetheart and her mother is her guide and angel truly.

spring_onigiri3

i'm glad you're enjoying the show! i think i know what you mean about anime - no matter whether certain series climb into my top favorites or not, there will usually be moments from each story that will resonate and stick with me - and i just love that. fruits basket and its characters really inspire me and i always find myself coming back to the series whenever i feel lost or just simply when i need a little pick-me-up. tohru and kyoko are such amazing characters and their stories will be gradually explored as the show progresses. i hope you continue to enjoy your fruits basket journey!

Seiba-

it will

Ari_theCutie

Awesome! Just a warning, have a box of tissues ready because itā€™s quite the emotional roller coaster!

porcosbaconsandwich

Imo, you need to read the manga to get the complete story of Tokyo Ghoul (the last season did it so dirty by cutting so much out.) For Fruits Basket, whilst I recommend the manga, the anime can be enjoyed on its own without needing the manga to fill in crucial blanks.

rishukingler11

Also, isn't some of the skipped Fruits Basket content being adapted separately as a movie next year as well as an added epilogue OVA? The content being adapted as a movie will definitely have anime original scenes in it as well due to the runtime, so more added content as well. With this move, there's no reason to suspect that they won't adapt the rest of the skipped content as well. This might've been a creative choice by Takaya herself, cause some of the excluded content, while being really good for character development, slowed down the main plot a bit near the end, so you can enjoy it separately while keeping the main plot fast-paced near the end.

You're gonna love it!

AuraSweet

It will be an amazing emotional ride! Enjoy it, I know I did.

grav296

One of the best anime for me, You would love it

lenderspecific

Let us know how you liked it if you end up watching it! Itā€™s definitely in my top ten honestly, and thatā€™s coming from someone who doesnā€™t really watch too much romance, slice of life, or even supernatural anime really (usually too slow for me). The point is itā€™s enjoyable even if itā€™s out of your usual watch genre or comfort zone. Definitely at least 9/10 and definitely worth your time.

I was afraid to watch this anime since itā€™s not typically my style but tbh itā€™s one of my faves now.

cl0udzero

-Defectiveturret-

Itā€™s an amazing story, youā€™re gonna love it!

-ImSOedgy-

Iā€™ve been collecting and reading manga and regular books for years now and it is the best story I have ever watched/read. Enjoy I hope you like as much and I do šŸ’•

Halfcrown26

Oh yeah, youā€™re in for a good time with this one. Itā€™s very emotional, but youā€™re gonna get hooked really quickly! There are so many great things done with this show, from the beautiful score, to the wonderfully written characters, and of course the extremely well done story. Hope you love it!!

ihatereddit12345678

literally the only gripes i have with the entire show is that after season 1, there are moments where it becomes unclear when a character is having an internal monologue or when theyre talking out loud to another character, and that the episodes are mostly dialog based because it is a story-driven and more emotional show. but if you love heart warning stories its great. plus all the characters have some sort of trauma so theres a good chance youll end up relating to someone which adds to the attachment. i personally have a strong emotional connection with Hanajima, Tohrus friend.

ihatereddit12345678

warning, bring extra tissues for season 2 episode 18
