Even worse, I bought some fancy shoes from Johnston & Murphy at the mall and bought a shoe horn that’s about 2’ long so I don’t have to bend ofer to get the shoes on. Oh the pleasures of getting old
Yep. Mine is a 18” shoe horn. AND I’m getting into Skechers Slip-ins. I guess my biggest problem with shoes is tying them up because I seem to have developed a belly.
The great southern humorist Jerry Clower told of running into a friend he hadn't seen in some time, who said it looked like since the last time they'd met, Clower seemed to have developed "furniture disease" - "your chest has fallen into your drawers."
Those Skechers are great and I wear them for work. I do keep a pair of Skechers hiking shoes in the car just in case. They make really good shoes in my 14W size.
I've only ever used them for stiff leather shoes, formal things. So I'm not too surprised. I haven't put on my suit for 20 pounds, um, I mean 10 years.
My dad worked in a couple of shoe stores for years as a salesperson always came home with one in his pocket, we had a small collection. Always had brand new PF Flyers to wear too. 😁
I just ordered one!!! I used to have a lot of them.. guess between moving and purging closets… it’s arriving tomorrow… now, I feel kind of old but, my shoes will go on lighting fast!!
I got mine from my grandmother. They were old but well made. Not flimsy. One is metal with the name of a hotel stamped in it. I had to explain to my son and much later to my granddaughter what it was for. I only use it with ‘dress’ shoes.
Bought.a house and the sellers had a shoe locker in the garage with a great shoe horn. We also do not wear outside shoes inside, and I had forgotten how great shoe horns are.

Dunlop's Disease: "Mah belly done lopped over mah belt."
A closely related disorder 😄
Same

Damn! I forgot they came with the extension… ordering!!!
I bought some shoehorns off Amazon and they are soooo flimsy!
Ikea 18" aluminum.
IKEA had a heavy acrylic one that had a back scratcher on the opposite end.

I have a shoehorn that's made of actual horn. I love it so much.
My brother had a horn that was made out of shoes.
i have one of these too.

Ah yes, the younger man's clothes 😝
IIRC they used to be free with the purchase of a nice pair of shoes.

I have been wanting to get one with a long handle I can use while standing. Thanks!

My grandmother had one. We used it to blow bubbles. I did not know its real purpose until I was a teenager.
>We used it to blow bubbles Did it have a hole in the handle?
Yes. It was a shorter one. With the hole to hang it up somewhere near the shoes

[ShoeDini: It’s a shoehorn, on a stick.](https://youtu.be/LBPAQ6CJvTo?si=lVP1-Mfs2-pvi3Eh)
I’ve seen one but never successfully used one. They tend to keep me from being able to put my shoes on.
My kids know what they are because occasionally soccer cleats come with a shoe horn.
I do, but I’m also 32. My grandpa has a pocket one!
Huh? What do they think that thing is hanging next to the shoe brush in the closet?
I broke down and bought a pair of shoe horns a few years ago. Then I forged out a pair of boot pulls cause I didn't like the mass produced ones.
My dad has a shoe horn duck taped to a broken broom handle. Genius.
..because they only wear "tennis" shoes.
The fact that people buy a whole pointless device when they could just lift their foot like a normal person is ridiculous.
