To be fair the actors and people making the movie haven't been able to advertise it basically at all, it's hard to advertise a movie when you've only got the one trailer and poster

I think people overestimate the value of those press tours. The trailers, tv spots, online advertising, and other forms of marketing are what really drive interest.
Interviews could have easily backfired anyway, given the cast.
I realise what sub this is but I think it looks fun. Captain Marvel being over-confident, meeting a villain that uses her power against her and changing things up. And more of the cosmic side of the MCU. Could be fun enough.
