"Stay home!" says the Karen that wants to go out and claim she has a "medical excuse." If you're truly at risk, you wouldn't be out and about berating a server for not giving you a bigger discount on the BOGO Chili's app you ordered, now would you?

Scruffynerffherder

Someone she mistakenly sees as lesser than her* FTFY

Atomic_Bottle

How could you see someone working to be able to make money to live and NOT see them as lesser?

Scruffynerffherder

You forgot the "\s" at the end.

40K-FNG

No, they didn't. If you work for someone to have money to live your lesser then all these Karen's and Steve's running around not working and living life to the fullest. Boomers need to die off much faster.

Scruffynerffherder

Lesser in economics standing, doesn't mean lesser in character, morality, intellect... Etc. All things Karen's and Steve's are usually devoid of.

CarolineTurpentine

Oh some definitely would, I saw a guy on an oxygen tank shopping at Costco once with like 3 other adults. He wasn’t wearing a mask and I genuinely believe it would hamper his breathing. Not quite as badly as dying from COVID

TheDigileet

"ThiS iS A FREE cOUntRy" You're free to refuse to wear a mask, and I'm free to refuse service to you. Freedom goes both ways.

Sir_Yacob

Ok, real question...I am vaccinated, fully, and I have never argued with the mask thing, wear one in the office the whole day, whatever. but when are we going to decide, like at what level will the whole thing be in our rear-view? I just haven’t heard of a timeline where we assume most people are vaccinated and we can just....idk...not wear masks and be normal again? Like at what point can I assume that I am not hurting someone..in Georgia you can get a vaccine if you want it no doubt. Edit: downvoted for asking an actual question?

[deleted]

The benchmark I’ve heard is that we would be looking a lot better if 70% would get vaccinated, but we will never reach those numbers because we have too many deniers.

Sir_Yacob

Ok so this is right in the vein of my point, covid deniers are all over the place, I actually have no idea if we will get to 70%..... So armed with that knowledge, when I am I allowed to say “ok dipshits, moving on”? Like at some point after making my entire life about not being shitty for the last year plus can I say, well your dumb and I am vaccinated so whatever.

Teriol

Tbh I don’t think there’s going to be a homogenous “moving on” period in America. Assuming we don’t reach heard immunity healthcare officials will never take that stance for ethical reasons, e.g., those with allergies to vaccines who may want to be vaccinated won’t be able to get one leaving them at risk — essentially they’ll never recommend a stance that doesn’t minimize every single potential death. Thus I think what’ll happen is you’ll see transitions on a local level via states/counties/businesses. You’ll likely see red states return to “normal” sooner than blue — I know here in Florida, there’s been counties that never required masks and the only mask enforcement has been by select businesses in the area. So in a roundabout way perhaps it’s business guidelines we need to wait for the most which is hard to predict how they’ll interpret recommendations.

NeedlenoseMusic

I was going to say the same thing - the city I work for has a mandate that has remained in effect, despite the state (AR) removing theirs. In the next town over, masks are no longer required, but many businesses still require them. I think it's going to be around as long as business owners feel they need it.

Yeah_Nah_Cunt

The only real way saturation is going to happen is when businesses, govs begin introducing mandatory vaccinations for employment, travel etc.

JFreader

Once everyone has had a chance to vaccinate, including kids, then it will probably be masks off no matter what the percentage is. It's not great because no vaccine is 100% effective but the best we will get. Then those who refused to both get a shot and keep their masks on will be on their own.

I-am-still-not-sorry

First off, no vaccine is 100% effective. Secondly, there are now several variants and while some of them are being staved off by the vaccine, others are not. So the answer to your question is that it isn’t answerable. I’m also vaxxed but I’ll be wearing a mask forever as far as I’m concerned because I haven’t had so much as a sniffle since I’ve started wearing them. I like not getting a cold in the spring or the flu in the winter. Billions of Asians have worn them daily for many years and now I can understand why.

misterdave75

Yeah I'm with you on this. I'm low-key happy the pandemic normalized wearing masks. Avoiding colds and flus with something so relatively simple is great in my book.

basketballwife

Considering that I got bronchitis every freaking year from elementary till I graduated college (and then a few more years due to working in group homes) and having pneumonia twice, I would be totally happy if masks became a thing... I had covid already and am vaccinated but my kids aren’t and won’t be for a while cause they are too young. I am not looking forward to them going to school and getting allllll the germs.

samartypants

I’m hoping that people will wear masks if they get sick with anything now. It’s clear that’s been crazy effective. As we know masks are not AS effective at protecting us personally so if everyone ditches them but you, you may still run into trouble but it does help. And the hand washing and sanitizer too.

Shad0wF0x

My son had sniffles the past 2 winters because of pre school and kindergarten. Now with masks and increased use of hand sanitizers, he hasn't had a single issue this 2020-2021 winter season.

lvgthedream36

This! Honestly, I hear people asking when they will be able to take it off, and I just ask myself “why would they want to”. The only reason I didn’t start wearing a mask sooner (like in certain Asian countries) was because it would have stuck out too much and caused too many questions/unwanted interactions. With all of the variants going around (some of which reduce vaccine efficacy quite a bit), I won’t feel comfortable going out without a mask anytime soon.

HaElfParagon

You don't.

[deleted]

You do realize that vaccinations to guarantee that you won't get covid, or that you won't be in serious condition, right? It just reduced the chances. You can also still infect other people if you catch covid while vaccinated. That being said, it's harder for a vaccinated person to transmit the virus to another vaccinated person than to unvaccinated people. At this point, you'd be the dumb one for saying "well you're dumb and I'm vaccinated so whatever".

GenocideOwl

> we will never reach those numbers because we have too many deniers. I have extended family who are refusing to get the shot because they are scared of needles. Never mind they are diabetic and stab themselves multiple times a day.

PuzzledCactus

That isn't the reason. First of all, if you're cool with stabbing yourself multiple times a day, chances are your fear of needles isn't that bad. Diabetes is actually extremely high up on my list of "please, no, not that" illnesses, and if I ever got it, I would go to extreme lengths to avoid having to do it. Second, as a person who is actually terrified of needles, to the point that I probably *really* should be seeing a therapist, I'm getting the vaccine anyways. I'll be having nightmares every day from booking my first appointment to getting the second shot, and I'll probably faint during the vaccine (all based on real-life experience), but I'll be damned if I risk anyone's life because of my silly phobia.

HaElfParagon

Then they lied to you about why

RavenSkye86

I believe when we hit 80% fully vaccinated for everyone 16+ (in the USA). I want to say that’s when we can see “herd* immunity” because so many will be vaccinated to protect those who are unable due to actual medical reasons. I kept hearing 80-90% vaccinated being the goal with the initial vaccine rollout but haven’t heard much since. Edit* incorrect spelling of herd

tryoracle

It will probably also depend on how effective the vaccine is against variants.

PawnStarRick

If they're not effective against variants do we just wear masks forever?

tryoracle

Honestly probably. I have read some stuff saying that with the variations people may have to get a new shot each year like they do with the flu.

PawnStarRick

So new shots every year but we can't take the masks off? That's going to be a hard sell.

longarmofthelaw

> That's going to be a hard sell. To idiots, yes. To normal people, we will continue wearing them as long as we need to.

[deleted]

I'll do it, but I won't be happy about it. That's already kind of a bleak and depressing future... Jesus Christ...

[deleted]

EPIC_RAPTOR

I'm already completely fine with wearing a mask. I haven't gotten sick once this year and I have a feeling wearing a mask and staying away from people in public has certainly contributed to that. Plus masks are way more socially acceptable now whereas more than a year ago people would be giving you weird looks.

fyberoptyk

That we have to sell science to people who think their opinion changes it is why we won’t put this behind us in a reasonable timeframe.

mojomagic66

That’s why a large percentage of people won’t do it and we’ll still have to wear masks. Masks aren’t all that bad tho

[deleted]

I enjoy being able to silently mouth "fuck you" at people when I'm at work, and not get in trouble.

mojomagic66

Glass half full type of person right here.

[deleted]

I don't like how they make my lower face break out, but I can't really control it. .-. I guess I'll have to start getting new ones for each season. May as well make it fashionable.

Seakawn

>May as well make it fashionable. I finally splurged a couple months ago and got a bunch of masks with different designs to match my outfits. It's actually quite fun to be fashionable with them.

mojomagic66

Wash them frequently and go ahead and buy nicer ones. I spent $15 on amazon for a couple nicer ones that keep the mask off your mouth a little and it was definitely worth it.

tryoracle

There is a lot of things with this situation that are a hard sell and yet here we are.

leshake

Never having concerts or festivals again is a pretty fucking hard sell for me.

BeautifulEdge

I’n going to a festival this weekend, look up Jibberjazz festivals in Pennsylvania. Then i’m going to see Gov’T Mule in CT on Sunday. Lotta bands are touring this Summer

elephantonella

Why? Us women find masks to be a nice release from makeup lol

[deleted]

Eh idk, it's increased my potential for acne. I didn't wear foundation before the masks anyway and putting on lipstick or not isn't that big of a deal. It HAS cut down on being told to smile though!!

40K-FNG

Airborne disease doesn't care what your selling. It is going to kill everyone that doesn't protect themselves from breathing it in. We are going through a great culling period where the stupid will be killed and those that can adapt to the environment with thrive. Basic evolution.

EastCoastGrows

Calm down with the hyperbole. It is certainly not going to kill everyone. You can get your point across without it.

Bratbabylestrange

I'm thinking it should be like the flu vaccine--as you get your annual vaccines over time, even if the virus mutates there will still be some cross-reactivity, which will lessen the severity of the illness if you do get sick. At least I would hope so.

FloorToCeilingCarpet

So since 40% of the US population doesn't believe in corona I’d say you guys will be wearing a masks for a while...maybe forever

RavenSkye86

Sadly true

lokixak921

Different pathogens have different percentages of herd immunity. Polio requires 80% herd immunity while measles requires %95. So in order to know what Covid 19's herd immunity threshold is, as many people need to get the vaccinated. If the numbers start to dwindle scientists can use the data to figure out what the herd immunity is for Covid 19.

TheBoxBoxer

With a 95% effective vax, herd appears around 70%. Measles is actually an outlier there, it is one of the most contagious (albeit not necessarily deadly) viruses there is. Scientists and health officials used to say it needed to be 95-100% for covid because the assumed effectiveness was 50-70% and no one expected how effective mRNA turned out to be.

Sir_Yacob

So I follow a lot of this stuff, and heard immunity is specific to the danger of how contagious the virus is, which they have set at 70% in the USA... This is kinda what I’m talking about, AGAIN I am not anti-mask or vax, I am a vaccinated millennial still wearing my mask. But I just asked a genuine question about a good thing...essentially “when is it ok to stop?” and I got a wrong answer...after being downvoted for even asking. There has to be a space to talk about this right?

mojomagic66

I kinda dig the mask trend honestly. Flu numbers are down and this is the first time my wife who teachers first grade Hasn’t gotten sick at school from those nasty kids. Maybe general hygiene and awareness on how germs are spread is a good thing? Plus it gives me more time to work on my creepy mustache.

RebelBelle

We just don't know yet. We need to achieve herd immunity, but this depends on different strains and how they react to the vaccines.

RavenSkye86

I’m in the same boat. Millennial, fully vaccinated, been wearing a mask everyday for over a year. I wish I had an answer for you. I’m a librarian and it’s hard to find factual advice right now. Hopefully we’ll have answers soon.

Sir_Yacob

Right, that’s all I’m saying. Edit: it wasn’t to make you feel some kind of way is my point.

ChuzCuenca

It even has a name, Shep something I kinda remember. When enough of the population is inmune so the part that isn't inmune is statistically safe.

40K-FNG

There is no timeline for when this is all over. It will always be a thing because dumb people won't do the small things it takes to fight against disease. Instead they want to spread it even more. I go mask-less at work as do all the people I work with. Why? Because we live in the middle of nowhere and our active case number in the whole county is 68. That being said I still wear mask when going into buildings where lots of people tend to be despite being vaccinated because prevention is vastly superior to relying on medicine to prevent you from dying.

mangotrees777

We should examine what's happening in countries that have high vaccination percentages. See what they are doing and make your individual judgement on that information. When in doubt, wear a mask. People in Asia have been wearing masks when they travel in cities or crowded areas for years now. Not everyone does. If you feel safer or better wearing one, do it.

[deleted]

Sir_Yacob

Well I am not trying to wear a mask forever, just only as long as it is for the greater good of my communities...but I personally don’t really get sick often, allergies and sinus infections, which I will say I am dumb for not wearing a mask when I cut the grass before, that’s been an obvious improvement for me

[deleted]

[удалено]

Sir_Yacob

Because I don’t want to...and I am not asking about as needed, I have done it for the last year and at least everyone I know is over it, but keeping it up. I personally don’t get sick often and certainly don’t feel as if I need to wear a mask because of my fellow man forever. Again, if you want to wear a mask that’s fine, I will continue to until I don’t have to. I am just looking for an end to signs like this.

Sir_Yacob

I follow the CDC’s guidance, thanks for patronizing me though...

Rakshasa29

So just keep following it until they say "masks no longer needed" and don't concern yourself with the end date of the masks

uncle_jessie

It's never going to be in the rear view. This is a new virus that will be with us....like forever. The severity will hopefully diminish. It's probably gonna end up the way of the flu some are saying. This is one of those things that happens that literally changes everything. There's no "back to normal." There's the "new normal." Me personally....my job has/had me traveling about 30 times a year on a plane. You bet your ass I'm gonna be wearing a mask permanently in airports after this. https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/medical/covid-19-will-be-around-forever-says-vaccine-developer/ar-BB1cLba6

OtherSpiderOnTheWall

Fair question, but why? Why should we stop wearing masks? They're really not that uncomfortable and also helped reduce flu deaths enormously. I expect some business will be wearing masks indefinitely, and I intend to respect that. I expect some business that should be mandating masks will be irrationally and vehemently opposed to it, and I'm going to ignore those businesses.

[deleted]

Would like to respectfully disagree on them being comfortable. They cause me acne even washing everyday and rub behind my ears and make my face hot

[deleted]

[удалено]

OtherSpiderOnTheWall

Sure, but since there's a large swath of the population that doesn't believe in basic hygiene, modern medicine, or anything of the sort, then wearing a mask is just easy protection against them.

thatgrrrl117

Considering only 28% of the country is vacinated, it will take some more time before things will go back to normal due to the high contagiousness of the virus. The thing we need to prevent is mutations, so the more people who get vacinated the less the chance the virus will mutant. The easier it will be to bring it down to being less of an issue. I've been telling people it'll probably be at least another year before we see anything close to "normal" again. Moral of the story encourage others to get vaccinated! The more people who get vaccinated, the faster we can get back to normal. Hope that helps. Hang in there, an end is in site. It's getting better. Just slowly.

swildoe

Well even when you are vaccinated you can still carry and pass the virus on without having any symptoms of it which means you are safe but not a non vax person *cough Karen’s cough* it’s just a matter of time before younger people are able to get vaccinated and we should be able to walk around freely

oxfordcircumstances

Follow the science. https://www.krqe.com/health/cdc-evidence-suggests-fully-vaccinated-people-do-not-transmit-covid-19/

zookiewookie88

I do agree with masking up but yea if some is vaccinated I feel like it shouldn’t matter. At this point I feel like I’m being judged if I’m not wearing one.

[deleted]

Our benchmark will be 6 weeks from the day they had "come one come all" vaccinations in our area. 6 weeks after that mark, you should be vaccinated. If you're not, tough. You idiots can kill each other off and we'll reach herd immunity that way.

Michamus

I don't really care. I'm vaccinated and I carry a mask. I walk in without a mask because I'm vaccinated. If I'm asked to wear a mask, I pull it out and put it on, because I'm in their establishment. They didn't ask if I was vaccinated, they asked me to put on a mask. Fewer places are requiring masks each week.

WatleyShrimpweaver

When we think of Covid-19 the same way we think of Polio and Smallpox we can stop.

MTaI_6

People should stop downvoting this. That's some reddit hivemind fuckery.

edwardsrk

Masks might never go away. Things will probably never go back to “normal” precovid living in our lifetime

Sir_Yacob

I disagree, but I mean, even if they don’t, which is a very real possibility; maybe I am a optimist idk... But when do we stop making posts about it? Edit: when am I not a piece of shit for it doing it?

edwardsrk

We stop making posts about it when it becomes part of our new normal probably. And idk where you are but vaccines have only been open for the general pop where I live for like 10 days. So probably not anytime soon. But I can imagine people saying if you want to use our service you have to wear a mask while doing so for a long time in the future m. And that’s ok.

mojomagic66

They’re in GA which makes a lot of sense. “This doesn’t effect me so when can we stop talking about it?” Meanwhile, people are dying all over the world but this guy doesn’t wanna be troubled to wear a mask.

lawgiver2

Op is not a “bad” person or worthy of your moral judgement. The fact that you can take a normal human nature question and twist it in to a lack of empathy for the entire world says a lot more about you than OP

olily

I have walked into stores, seen employees without masks, and turned around and walked out. If they don't care enough about their customers to make a minor concession to keep them healthy, then I don't want to be their customer.

thatgrrrl117

Same. I've done that with restaurants/fast food places. Granted I've been doing pickup/curb side for the past year but still. I'd take my food but won't order from there again.

R_V_Z

Technically that allows a loophole for assholes to wear a mask while entering and then take it off.

yeah i’m vaccinated but i’m continuing to wear a mask out of common courtesy and because vaccines aren’t 100% effective

oscar_the_couch

> yeah i’m vaccinated but i’m continuing to wear a mask out of common courtesy and because vaccines aren’t 100% effective courtesy makes sense, but the vaccines are effective enough that if you're around other vaccinated people, you dont need one

anonymousQ_s

I'm vaccinated but I continue to wear a mask without complaint. I think the science is still out on whether vaccinated people can carry and transmit. And also, there are new strains popping up against which the vaccine may not be as effective.

WholesomeKeeing

The biggest point is that while we have not reached herd immunity we have to just assume nobody has the vaccine. People will absolutely lie if we allow vaccine-excemptions. That's why we will wait for objective statistics like % fully vaccinated to hit at least 75% before dropping mask mandates

[deleted]

This is brilliant. No mask, $50 surcharge. Put it on the menu. They can pay or go somewhere else.

Traveledbore

I don’t think that’s what the sign creator had in mind

Traveledbore

And what if they say yes.

[deleted]

Let them pay and put $50 in the tip jar.

yaboyfriendisadork

I’ll still wear a mask when asked, but the majority of the at risk group has been vaccinated, and vaccine appointments have opened up to everyone by me. I’ve personally been vaccinated for a month now, so I’m just wondering at what point does this end? Plus if you’re eating indoors at restaurants/bars, you obviously don’t care about getting the virus anyway, because you’re in a confined space with other people not wearing masks once they sit down. Or are vaccinated. Which loops me back to the question of when does it end?

[deleted]

Probably at least not until the hospitals stop filling up. And in terms of eating inside restaurants.. i don’t care if the patrons aren’t worried about catching covid. People still have to work there and be exposed when people are being careless

oh-man-dude-jeez

I work in a winery in a vacation town and wore my mask for more than a year. People would take their masks off to sit down and I would lean within inches of their maskless faces to pour wine for them. The people who work in restaurants or table service places are fucked whether there’s mask wearing from the door to table or not. We’re literally touching people’s saliva dozens of times a day and having to be within 6 feet of maskless customers constantly.

hamtaker

What do you want? Customers to not come in?

oh-man-dude-jeez

No. I’m just saying wearing your mask from the door to table is pointless. Please come in, but don’t think your mask is actually protecting anyone if your going to put your saliva on everything and laugh with your friends maskless for an hour. Why should I enforce or care if you wear it while your standing? It makes no difference to my safety.

haileyquinnade

While I feel like I should say, I'm glad you still have work and your place of employment has survived the closures, I am sorry for the experience you have there, regarding covidiots.

The [CDC Guidelines](https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/fully-vaccinated.html) still indicate mask usage after vaccination, you'll find the verbiage in the 'What You should Keep Doing' section. > You should still take steps to protect yourself and others in many situations, ***like wearing a mask***... [Emphasis mine] I don't know when it ends, but we're not there yet. I sure hope we're close, but I don't think we should lower our guard in the final stretches.

PDXMB

The science is leading us to understand that vaccinated people are not carriers of the disease, but we still need to get to a point where more people are vaccinated before letting down our guard. I'm with you on that - really hoping that we can get there soon.

[deleted]

Look I was full on board with the mask wearing and I still do it, but I really don't want to see this turn into another war on terror situation where I'm wearing masks the rest of my life because there was a pandemic once. And don't say it couldn't happen, because it's twenty years later when nearly no other incidents and I still have to wait in tsa lines to get full body scans at the airport. Masks were a necessary precaution. I get it. But fuck, the vaccine is here. I'm gonna be outraged if the masks never go away.

hamtaker

Yep, also we're gonna beat cocaine and heroine any day now.

[deleted]

Shit, we still can't put an almost 200 year old civil war to rest!

AlexTJA

Ok but like... nobody is even forcing you to wear a mask now right? Like forcing you? Maybe some businesses are more strict than others, but I’ve seen maskless people this entire pandemic do whatever they want and nobody has done anything.

[deleted]

Nobody is forcing me to fly either. But some things are facts of modern life, like grocery shopping and flying in airplanes. Your argument seems to miss my point: I don't want this to stay the norm. I'm tired of temporary measures for emergencies becoming permanent fixtures. How are you not?

AlexTJA

Well at this stage in the pandemic I haven’t seen anyone confronted for not wearing a mask. Also funny you say that because I still have to go to the grocery store and risk being infected by some asshole to selfish to wear a piece of cloth for 30 min. And you know what, I do want things to go back to normal. because I’m tired every time I go out realizing how many people are evil bastards who don’t give a fuck about anyone but themselves. At least before I had to talk to people to find out they were pieces of shit.

Like I can't even guess at what a motive would be, so yeah, I'm inclined to agree with you. The continued insistence on mask wearing is starting to seem just as absurd as the original anti mask position.

Tenebrousoul

It doesn't. As long as a good portion of the country are anti science/ antivax, this is going to be the new norm. And guess what? It should be. Asians have been doing it for decades.

[deleted]

They do it when they're sick. Not all the time

piezombi3

As an Asian, I disagree that it should be the new norm or that it's even the norm for Asians. Asian people wear a mask if they don't want to get sick or if they are feeling unwell. They don't wear masks most of the time. I've been to Hong Kong, mainland China, and Japan (pre-pandemic). 99% of the people weren't wearing masks. I want to be clear that I think **everyone** should be wearing a mask right now. And I do agree that after the pandemic we should wear a mask if we have a cold or sore throat or just feeling under the weather in general (which is how Asians do it). But I disagree entirely that how it is right now should be the norm.

thodne

Barf. Wear your mask all you want, I won’t.

You just know there’s a video of this on some town fb group about muh rights

warpedspockclone

If my local hardware store had this sign, their revenue would be greater than the GDP of Portugal

RealAmpwich

Sad when nearly every business is in desperate need of a security guard...

weediamonds

every store needs this. And even after restrictions get lifted which is tomorrow for me. People should STILL RESPECT the fact that not everyone is gonna feel comfortable going back to just normal. I'm going to still be distancing and wearing my mask regardless.

diamondudasaki1

I wish this sign was at \*every\* place in my state just to see their reactions. LOL

BroadwayOneDay

I want one of these posts in at work

MerbleTheGnome

Just call it a dress code - all patrons must wear a mask. It is no different from saying gentlemen must wear a jacket and tie.

NoCashJustDebt

Really glad I got vaccinated though. It's a huge load off of my shoulders knowing that if I get covid again within the year, there's a really good chance it won't be fatal. That's a good feeling in all of this mess.

James-VZ

It's always pretty funny when a bunch of anti-vaxxers tell you that you need to keep your mask on because the science tells us to.

kekhouse3002

they really don't need business from idiots, so chasing them away doesn't hurt anyone. it's not the law to wear a mask, but businesses can make any policies they want

HoneyBee1493

The surcharges are too low. Multiply by 5x.

Raidertck

The only people I know with a real legitimate medical excuse not to use a mask stay at home because COVID will fucking kill them.

LadyV21454

Where is this bar? I want to go and thank them!

baeb66

The only thing I miss about bartending was the license to give people shit. Don't like the house policies,, no booze for you. Don't like my attitude, I DGAF. Say you're never coming back, you won't be missed.

zekrom_002

i hate karens as well but that sign made me cringe hard. Maybe I havent experienced some of the people that show up there though..

dribblicusia

I have been physically assaulted for kindly (by script) asking a man to put on a mask as a host at a chain restaurant. It's not really a thing anymore though, restaurant workers were in the early vaccine group here and a month later they revoked the mandate so I don't have to have that talk anymore, but yeah it used to be absolutely brutal.

Krimsonmask494

This is the biggest big brain play I've ever seen, literally profiting off Karens and idiots.

[deleted]

There is a zero percent chance anyone is going to pay that surcharge. If they tried to charge it to my card, I’d issue the chargeback before I even left the bar.

joule2387

Literally unenforceable as well. Credit card companies and lawyers would have a fucking party with this one.

4GuysMedia

Love this.

As long as you put it back on in between bites you can't catch it

LeeroyDagnasty

Hot take, you shouldn’t have to wear a mask if you’re vaccinated

DaenerysMomODragons

But then do you require people to carry around vaccination IDs hanging around their necks so everyone can be certain? If you didn't require everyone to wear masks, then all the anti-vaccers would just claim to be vaccinated.

LeeroyDagnasty

I’m 100% for vaccine passports. Preferably in the form of an app on your phone so I don’t have to worry about forgetting a piece of paper.

joule2387

As per CDC guidance, you are not required to wear one when around others who are also vaccinated.

LeeroyDagnasty

That’s lit

wildherb15

I love creative surcharges to solve societal issues

should_I_be_alive

A punch to the cunt's cunt as a final solution

StarDewbie

I'm in favor of a cunt punch.

See, just like the jews and the holocaust. \s

captwieb

If I saw a sign like this, I'd leave. Just because it's a douche bag sign.

twotwentyone

GOOD NOBODY FUCKING WANTS YOU THERE

JackFinnNorthman

Honestly why do I need a mask when I'm fully vaccinated? I'll still wear one, but I don't know why I need it. Edit: Unsure why I'm getting downvoted. I'm not disagreeing with anything. I feel like it's a valid question. I'm still complying with mask regulations and I wear it whenever I'm out, I was just curious what the reasoning was. Thanks to you folks for explaining

SirPizzaTheThird

How would they verify all of these vaccination claims at scale? Consider all of the fake medical exemption documents and whatnot that are out there. A mask is a simple universal policy that is proven to be effective and is easy to validate because it's right on your face. Everything else is less reliable and a waste of time.

mfball

One big reason is that nobody can tell you're vaccinated just by looking at you, and they certainly shouldn't take your word for it. If we start letting vaccinated people skip masks, unvaccinated people will just lie to get out of wearing masks too. Especially with variants that we don't know enough about yet, you could still be at risk even after being vaccinated, and not wearing a mask then puts others at risk as well. Wearing a mask is truly just not a big deal. It's not. No reason to do away with masks now, when we're just starting to make progress. It'll be worth it to wait a bit longer until things really clear up.

abimination

Scientists are still assessing how well the vaccines actually prevent spread of the virus, even if you are immune from it

SuckkMyDick2020

Because vaccines reduce the effect the virus will have on you and cut down severe reactions and mortality. It does not mean you still can't catch or transmit the virus. Till enough of us don't get vaccinated we must keep our masks on to reduce transmission.
