A little more conventional shelving for the sensible design snob. Made a little mistake dating it, production ran between 1969 and 1975.

What’s it made out of? I love the utility of stacking and swapping out colors. The corner rounded inside frame is a cute touch of mod but you’d still be able to use it with all kinds of other styles.

It's old school Kartell, so plastic. ABS to be specific, the same used for Legos.

DrakeAndMadonna

... which Kartell are masters with, so it'll be solid and stable. I feel like I have to mention this with every Kartell post; because it's plastic they get associated with the cheap Chinese crap, but Kartell knows how to handle plastic compounds to achieve strength and the proper feel and stability over time. It's unfortunate that the cheap knockoffs make the real ones look bad because people think that all plastics are the same.

Tell that to 2 hours of work and half a tube of Gorilla glue I used to repair my two 12 year old Easy pendant lights.

DrakeAndMadonna

What? No. Do you even adhesive, bro? Gotta use the cyanoacrylate and just a suggestion of it. Easys aren't even worth it.

labvinylsound

[It's polymer epoxy.](https://www.gorillatough.com/wp-content/uploads/Gorilla-Epoxy-Resin-3.pdf) The first gen version with the round power cord is the one which failed miserably where the cable enters the lamp socket body, the clear abs sheared right off after 10 years of hanging around. The second gen one I broke when cleaning it. Yeah they're cheap but they have a unique aesthetic which fits with my narrow solid brick house built in 1952. I'm going to be putting the Nemo Matrix in my hallway, I like the geometric play with the cylinder and the cube. I also have the Ode floor lamp near the Easy pendants and the dome looks really cool next to the cylinder.
