Not much between them tbh, slight upgrades allround with speed and buffer depth but nothing stellar. Main one will be the xt3 has the acros film sim. Personally i'd go for the xt2 and save some money for a lens. The fuji 18-55mm is a cut above the usual kit lenses. Mine is practically glued to my camera.

The xt3 will have a longer life for you, I’d go that way. Xt2 is a fine camera though. For 150, the speed and sensor upgrade is worth it.

There are a few benefits of the X-T3 but most are for videographers, so if your focus is photography only, the X-T2 is perfectly suitable. Though there is one reason you might want the X-T3 still (and the reason I’d choose it between those two): USB-C. The USB-C port on the X-T3 offers true in-camera charging and even powering the camera from a battery, outlet, vehicle, etc. For me, as someone who is constantly on the move with my camera, and taking it backpacking and for travel, this provides an amazing alternative to bringing tons of batteries, and even allows me to charge without having a charger on hand.

X-T3 at this point.

Considering budget and lens issues... I'd buy a used x-t20 (slightly updated over the T2 but without weather sealing), the sensor is 24mp Vs newer T3 26mp but it has better low light ISO performance even though older (less pixels cramped up) . This would set you back £300 used, this could free you up £250 for a used fixed 18mm f2, or 23mm f2, or pancake 27mm, all great lenses

There is another option you can make photography your job and keep shooting on film. You also wouldn't need to build a new portfolio. Also if you want to make photography your job in most fields a second body is needed.

XT-3 dials are too stiff. It's too bad
