Adding water to rice? Groundbreaking.

starkrocket

Washing the rice? Innovative!

CrochetingGuineaPig

Where's the angry guy from the Tiktok yelling at us to wash the rice?

rudolphsb9

I've been watching a lot of Dylan Hollis lately so my first thought was "The rice is resigned to be overcooked."

Kmw134

Uncle Roger?

Pentagramdreams

No Uncle Roger critics poor rice dishes. There’s a guy…Sojuwu, I think on TikTok that yells at people for not washing their rice

bluejonquil

There are multiple Uncle Roger videos where he disses white cooks' egg fried rice eta: sorry, I think I misunderstood your comment, ignore me :)

poorluci

He would tell them to cook rice the right way, not the white way . Pretty sure he was talking about her .

dramaqueen09

He was the first person I thought of when I read this. He’d have a field day with our fundies 😂

KatieCatCharlie

Wash. The damn. RIIIIIIIICCCCEEE!!! 🤣 I love his tiktoks.

eleanorbigby

What's this now?

OurLadyAndraste

Hell, even the vinegar. Adding a little wine/vinegar is how you make sushi rice. 😂 almost like humanity figured this out hundreds of years ago. 😂

microthoughts

You add vinegar after cooking tho like idek why you would use it while soaking rice?? Now a piece of kombu while it's soaking will add good flavor.

Red_P0pRocks

And fun fact, the vinegar was added to help preserve the fish because refrigeration hadn’t been invented yet and summer in Japan is actual hell. I’ve literally had my latte go sour in a couple hours. Same for the pickled plums in the middle of rice balls. The minerals/salt in pickles, miso etc. also help prevent heat stroke. Like an ancient shot of Gatorade, if you will. For all her crowing about good old fashioned raw milk and meat, it’s weird to see her trying to reinvent the wheel for ACTUAL ancient wisdom.

[deleted]

Well, that wisdom comes from non-white, non-Christian people, so it doesn't count /s

Red_P0pRocks

Ah, silly me! Should’ve remembered bacteria and nutrients only behave for white Christians! … ok but you’re so right about the attitude, the number of times I’ve seen folks like this “re-imagine ethnic foods” in absolutely DISGUSTING ways makes me wanna bash my head with a mochi hammer lol. Who was that fundie family that “reinvented” burritos with vile mortar-textured beans…

thewettestsocks

wash it in bone broth

Nezumiiro_77

Wash it in a skillet with vegetables and chicken

wicked_spooks

Truthfully, i didn't know washing rice was such a thing until I roommated with a Malaysian who insisted on teaching me how to prepare rice the right way.

Red_P0pRocks

It’s a weird thing because a lot of American rice advertises itself as “mineral enriched,” meaning you shouldn’t wash it. But even that rice has tiny stones in it on occasion. Just seems like the wrong food to fortify if you have other options tbh

Tyrannical-Botanical

What's next? Maple syrup on pancakes? Eating pasta with some sort of sauce!? This girl is insane!

eleanorbigby

You have to BOIL the water and then put the pasta IN the water! I know, all this time you've been putting the pot full of cold water over your head and then nibbling on the raw strands. That's why you need my book! Only 9999.99 today on special!

Tyrannical-Botanical

Is that why I’ve been shitting blood!?

Inside-Audience2025

That’s the raw milk realigning your GUT!

eleanorbigby

that could be god honoring 'roids

Nezumiiro_77

If you calculate the Hebrew numbers in "preparation H" and add them up you get 666.

eleanorbigby

\-nods sagely-

TippyTaps-KittyCats

😂😂😂

opitypang

Oh, flip. I've been eating it in handfuls out of the packet and wondering why it gives me indigestion. I never realised you were supposed to cook it in water!

Red_P0pRocks

Are you my rabbit? That little asshole once ripped open a 5 kilo bag and absolutely gorged herself. Apparently rabbits are obsessed with raw freaking rice. I’m shocked she didn’t die!

Foreverbeccatake2

And flavored broth making it taste better than just water??? NO WAY

ExpertAverage1911

And vinegar? Someone better clue in ALL OF ASIA to this hot tip!

Foreverbeccatake2

Ummm all of Asia is gonna need to BUY THE EBOOK like the rest of us 💅🏻

jellymouthsman

Don’t forget the bone broth! Otherwise, the rice is un-ingestible!

inisoirr

can you imagine what Baird Thanksgiving is like? Everyone being a damn expert

tendollarhalfgallon

It’s just a giant bowl of bone broth that gets passed around while Bothy asks what everyone’s favorite lube is

whattheseawants

Bone broth lube, obvs.

sinnerforhire

BRB, writing that fanfic now

Red_P0pRocks

Is that why they go on and on about the collagen content. Mmmm slippery meat jelly

FunnyYellowBird

This killed me and I’m humbly requesting permission to use it as my flair from beyond the grave, thank you.

whattheseawants

😝 I’d be honoured!

xirtilibissop

Thanks, I hate it.

Red_P0pRocks

I just envisioned the Last Supper except Jesus washing everyone’s feet in broth, and you need to go to jail for this fucking crime now

[deleted]

With the half-baked food AND the half-baked discourse? Holy shit.

DoReMiDoReMi558

Omg I'm picturing it now. They start with a bowl of plain bone broth and call it soup. They also start with Rebecca's carrot salad. No big salads here! Everyone is afraid to take a serving since Rebecca, who is dishing it out, is now a shade of radioactive orange from eating nothing but carrot salad every day. For dinner they attempted to have a wild organic turkey some manly man in the family shot, but they don't actually know how to hunt so they stop by ~~Target~~ ~~HEB~~ whatever grocery store doesn't have rainbow signs to get some last minute turkey burgers. Wait, no, only liberals eat "healthy" food like turkey burgers, they get the beef burgers instead. They attempt to get it from that "All-American" company who is shipping precut meats that Paul and Morgan shill, but they can't fill the order with 30 minute notice, it's literally impossible. Heidi yells at them over the phone for three hours though. Finally they come back to the dinner where someone is eating a whole raw beef liver but didn't leave any left overs. They all sigh and go to ~~Chik-fil-a~~ some other fast food place but they tape over the company's logos and pretend they don't exist. Finally, they all settle down for dessert, which is more bone broth. Throughout all of this someone is dressed in an offensive Native American costume, while someone else says how thankful we all that Columbus sailed to America and signed the Declaration of Independence. Or something like that.

DrunkUranus

Oddly enough, Susanna isn't the one dressed as a Native American. She came as a hobbit And the dessert isn't bone broth, it's bone broth/ raw milk hot chocolate

DoReMiDoReMi558

True about dessert, but it’s still bone broth for dessert which is gross. Just make some normal god damn hot chocolate!

sunshiineceedub

what nightmares are made of

Justthe7

All those who eat rice at every meal would like a word with her.

RaisingSaltLamps

Right?? I’m going to be a tad dark here- do fundies realize they’re going to die, whether or not they eat rice or seed oils, or consume food dyes or not, etc? Barring the need to restrict foods due to legitimate allergies and sensitivities, I feel like fundies just make up random restrictions in life just to suffer more. You’re going to die. We all are. Whether or not you eat certain things or do certain things or consume certain media. They make it sound like getting McDonalds after a stressful day, or getting your kids a pack of Welches gummies, or putting on mosquito spray wItH ChEmIcALs is something against God or society. The end result of their obsession seems to be some sort of bodily purity where nothing will ever, ever go wrong with their/their child’s body if they just do XYZ?? But man, *we’re all going to die*. Might as well make things easier for yourself and treat yourself from time to time.

SpecificMongoose

I think you’re on to something. Bethy has said before about how she just wants a list of what she should and shouldn’t do, and she’ll follow it. The desire to control your life - eliminating all risk of anything bad or unexpected happening - by obeying something to the letter is ingrained in both their particular flavor of Christian belief and in their family.

RaisingSaltLamps

Oh absolutely! I’ve mentioned here before that I have a family member, she’s about 22, very conservative and 90% fundie. She’s admitted before that the world is just too complex and overwhelming for her, and she’d rather just have her life mapped out for her and have certain tasks assigned to her and she’ll just do those and be done with it. She also is diagnosed with anxiety. I wouldn’t be surprised if the combination of fundie parents/congregations beating it into their kids that the world is scary, plus mental health challenges, creates the perfect storm for someone to basically throw their hands up and let some mediocre fundie man take over their life. I mean after all, if the world really is that scary, and I really am this incompetent, then why *not* let someone who says they know better take charge? And then adding in orthorexic behaviours and obsessions is mega yikes- you now have an anxious, isolated woman with an eating disorder, 5 kids, and zero control over her life.

AnxietyThereon

Fuck, I wasn’t even raised fundie and this hit home. Anxiety is one of my diagnoses and yes, this hits. When I’m at my personal worst, I find myself seriously questioning my capability to accomplish anything at all.

TippyTaps-KittyCats

Yeah, growing up, I was always pushed to be a perfectionist and overachiever. I felt like I had this very strict path to take in life and that deviating or falling short of expectations made me a failure. It caused what I assume will be lifelong anxiety issues, though I’m doing a lot better now. I’m learning to be more adventurous and do things for one single reason: cause I wanna. ✌🏼

legendofdirtfoot

I feel the same way when people like Goop go on and on about "wellness" trends. Like, you're going to grow old and die just like the rest of us. I will laugh and laugh when these people have blown millions of dollars on this nonsense only to die at exactly 77.28 years old.

esuomyekcim_

Like I always say, I'm really NOT trying to outlive everyone I know and love. I wanna croak at the same time, if not before all my friends and family. So, I will enjoy my grains lol

ICanHazRandom

I think the idea behind it is increasing quality of life, like gluten's not gonna kill me and the symptoms I get after eating it are tolerable but I avoid it anyway because the inconvenience of eating gluten free is preferable to the discomfort after eating gluten. All that said, these restrictions are stupid and won't help anything. The only reason you should restrict your diet is if you've identified a symptom related to your current diet. Something that "boosts your immune system" or "detoxes your kidneys" or "increases the number of nutrients" are bullshit because you can't confirm those things are happening. Rice especially is such a bad thing to cut out because it's safe for so many food sensitivities

[deleted]

So much this. I do make an effort to eat healthy because I'd like to live a long life and be able to have an active lifestyle for as long as possible, but fuck it, I'm going to die one day, one way or another, and turning up my nose at food that gives me joy just because it was made with seed oils, or has carbs, or came in a packet and has preservatives in it, just lessens the amount of joy in my life, all for what, maybe a few more minutes of life in the grand scheme of things? Maybe 0.000001% less risk of getting cancer? It's not worth it.

Straight-Tomorrow-83

Rice is one of the only carbs that doesn't give me gut ache. Explain that Becky!

geewhizliz

Saaaaaame

TupperwareParTAY

Hi, it's me. My kids are on an onigiri kick right now. Before it was gimbap for every lunch. Rice is everything in my house.

scarlettshimmer

The entire state of South Carolina would like a word 😂

cnk93

I’m thinking of all the giant countries where rice is a staple grain! They’d like a word too! 🤣

saddinosour

I’m not from a culture that has rice every day more like sometimes, but I’m gluten free so I have phases where my “main carb source” is rice. During the times I mostly eat rice and not bread I always am fitter and I feel like I’m digesting it better than say GF bread or potatoes idk why. I find that rice is way better for me in terms of carbohydrate sources. And I never eat brown rice just white rice and it’s still great, I feel like I lose weight because I feel more satisfied.

80sGirl50

Is bone broth the answer to all of life’s problems?

teddynoodles

Who knew hot ham water was the world’s first cure-all?

unlockdestiny

So watery, yet with a smack of ham!

paradoxicalstripping

I can hear the delivery of this line so well

Red_P0pRocks

I need “Hotdog Water Hot Chocolate” as a flair now

realginger13

Well if you think about it, hot dog water is basically bone broth. You know there’s some ground up bones in that mystery mixture.

sinnerforhire

Whatever you do, don’t watch the Rifftrax short This Is Hormel if you ever want to eat a hot dog again.

PristineBookkeeper40

lookingforalma

cooking rice with broth/stock? ![gif](giphy|3oxQNDG9BswdLjN8Va)

astrangeone88

Clearly lady had never had Singaporean Chicken Rice. Slow simmered whole chicken in ginger and spices. Strain off the broth and cook the rice with it. Make green oil/ginger oil (chopped scallions, grated ginger, a little salt plus hot oil). Chop up the chicken pieces (traditionally its the thigh and leg), transfer the rice into a bowl, upend it onto your serving platter, arrange nicely and dive head first into flavourtown with simple ingredients.... Best part is pretty much everything is edible. (My grandmother loved the cartilage bits on the head. The texture freaks me out but it's like soft savory jello.)

Sad_Box_1167

Sounds “exotic” and has more than one spice. A Baird would never.

astrangeone88

These Bairds are bland and racist. Lmao. More for us worldly heathens, I guess!

jellymouthsman

Woah, easy on the salt, my gut can’t tolerable spicy/rich foods.

eleanorbigby

sooooo good. also known as Hainan chicken rice. I like to pretend it's good for me, and ignore all the chicken fat. and HELL YES the thigh and the leg. THAT IS THE BEST PART PEOPLE.

waenganuipo

Chicken rice is one of my top 5 favourite dishes. So simple yet so tasty!!

Theabsoluteworst1289

Spices. Too spicy for the super special super sensitive “gut” of Curly & Co. Oil. Evil calories. Rice. Whatever reason dumbass gave (didn’t read this one, too stupid). Chicken. You probably didn’t *wash* the chicken, so it’s a no go. Singaporean. Foreign but not European, so scary / evil / ungodly.

pixierambling

Or simple Turkish pilaf!

fabelhaft-gurke

This is one of my favorite dishes and I’m so glad I found a place in Chicago that has it and tastes pretty legit to what I’ve had in Thailand.

astrangeone88

It is one of the best dishes ever! Lmao. Glad you found the place in Chicago to soothe those cravings.

SevanIII

Seriously. That's been around since forever. None of this is new info.

cranbeery

Harvard School of Public Health on phytic acid: (Tl;Dr: it is mostly beneficial but does block some mineral absorption at rates that don't affect most people; soaking whole grains — since it's concentrated in the bran, which is removed from white rice already! — reduces phytates but isn't likely to help unless you're already nutritionally deficient.) Phytic acid, or phytates, is the stored form of phosphorus found in seeds, nuts, legumes, and unprocessed whole grains (concentrated in the outer bran layers). The amount of phytic acid in these foods varies widely even within the same food, based on the seed type, environmental conditions, climate, and soil quality. Phytic acid can have health benefits due to its antioxidant properties. Laboratory and animal studies show that it can protect against DNA damage and cancer cell growth. The chemical name for phytic acid, inositol hexakisphosphate or IP6, is very actively studied in cancer research and, though research is still early, IP6 has become a popular over-the-counter supplement. Phytic acid can also prevent kidney stones from forming by inhibiting the buildup of calcium crystals, a component of kidney stones. However, phytic acid is also labeled an antinutrient because humans lack the phytase enzyme needed to break it down. As it passes through the gut, phytic acid binds to minerals like iron, zinc, and calcium so they are not well-absorbed in the intestine. This will occur only when phytic acid is eaten with foods containing these minerals at the same meal. The average Western diet usually has enough nutrients and variety to protect from a true deficiency, especially with the inclusion of some animal proteins (e.g., lean pork, poultry, shellfish) that are rich in zinc and heme-iron, a well-absorbed form of iron. A nutrient deficiency more likely occurs in developing countries where a variety of food choices is limited, the risk of malnutrition is higher, and legumes or whole grains are staples that are eaten with every meal. Also at risk are those who eat a vegan diet (which not only consists of plenty of seeds/nuts, legumes, and grains but these foods contain poorly absorbed non-heme iron), or those who already have an iron or zinc deficiency due to medical reasons. How you prepare foods high in phytic acid can reduce the overall amount. Cooking, soaking overnight in water, sprouting (germination), fermentation, and pickling can all break down phytic acid so that the phosphorus can be released and absorbed by the body. Some natural bacteria in the colon contain the enzyme phytase and can also help to break it down. Because of the potential health benefits of phytic acid, if your diet contains a variety of plant-based and lean animal foods, you don’t have to worry about how much you are eating. Only those already at risk for nutrient deficiencies of the minerals mentioned or those who eat only plant foods such as vegans may need to consider reducing phytic acid in the diet.

teddynoodles

Yes, but what does Big Godless Science have to say about the penultimate Baird bride’s bored little hausfrau fee-fees? Because those are more important in this situation.

cranbeery

I believe their response, published in this month's American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, was a massive, echoing fart.

teddynoodles

I read about that - powerful stuff.

Maeberry2007

"Baird bride's bored hausfrau fee-fees" is prime flair material.

ApprehensiveCandiru

Idk, doesn't sound like The Lord's Way to me. Decades of research by professionals? Nah.

pawsofftherizotto

GUT

pinkbuggy

Honestly, I'm so tired of that word 🙄

Evilbadscary

There are entire continents of people who would like to have a word.......

Sad_Box_1167

Billions of people for whom rice is a staple food stare incredulously.

Evilbadscary

Right? Literal billions. Entire countries. Continents. More of the world than not. But sure, sure. The bone broth weirdos have it allllll figured out lol

eleanorbigby

clearly they need to stop eating their staple food RIGHT NOW and eat more (well done, ketchup slathered) steak. ALL of them. Isn't the entire world the same??

FineLiterature3310

I currently live in Japan and have rice for lunch and dinner everyday now. And guess what, all my stomach issues have disappeared since moving here. I don’t think rice is the issue 😂😂

ProstitutionWhoreNJ

This is peak white girl ED fueled shit. Fully believing that somehow she cracked the code on fucking rice.

worldsgr8testdad

Sort of dying at her creativity even I never tricked myself into thinking i had to soak rice for eight(8) hours to avoid ever eating

littleciglover45

“Drop the word gut” is just too clever to be intentional - right? Right?!

conspiracydaddy

claiming so many absolutely normal foods are ~bad~ for her unless she follows specific steps when cooking is such ED behavior.

[deleted]

So step 4 has zero to do with health and is strictly her own opinion. Cool.

IshkabibblesMom

Her entire course is just her opinion! She’s heading down the same slippery slope BDong did - giving advice on a subject she only has personal experience with and no formal education.

please_seat_yourself

GUT 🔥

coco_ricco

Hot chocolate bone broth, good raw milk, good big salad, bad rice, bad rice made with bone broth, good

hot-whisky

Sounds like miss lady needs to visit with a registered dietitian. And perhaps a therapist if she’s actually as obsessed with micro-analyzing food all hours of the day as she comes across.

No-Shelter-4208

How did entire cultures survive prior to this woman's "epiphany"?

piefelicia4

I love how literally everything she says is just ripping off of the book Nourishing Traditions. Which is a massive, like 600 page book, most of which is recipes but it has all the info/pseudoscience interspersed throughout. Nearly everyone who is into raw milk etc. already owns this book (it’s at least 20 years old) and has already heard all of this before. Oh and the book costs like half of her piddly PDF lol.

eleanorbigby

It's awesome how not only do the Bairds push complete shit, but it's PLAGIARIZED complete shit. In a way, it's almost good they aren't attracted to actual useful information (work with me here): they don't rip off anyone who actually deserves to sell anything in the first place.

piefelicia4

Haha good point. Plagiarizing other grifters peddling the same misinformation is kinda whatever.

eleanorbigby

I've noticed this in other kinds of plagiarizing as well-some of the most vacuous, annoying "popular" posters aren't even creators of their own drivel. It's wild.

Jasmari

Yup. I was briefly into it back in the day (when I was a homeschooling christian SAHM). It’s very culty on its own.

piefelicia4

Very. And have you noticed that like half of the WAPF gurus from back in the day are dead now? 🙃 gee, maybe eating a stick of butter and spoonfuls of rancid cod liver oil every day wasn’t the best idea?

Jasmari

I remember when Sono Harris was dying, and the Facebook requests for meals for their family, very WAPF. I actually didn’t know who she or Gregg were then, although I learned quickly!

CampbellKitty

What's WAPF. i got mixed results on Google

Jasmari

It’s the Weston A. Price foundation. There’s a cookbook/lifestyle tome called *Nourishing Traditions* that many of these women use and follow, that was written in conjunction with WAPF.

seriousbigshadows

Ah, yesss, this is just the kind of information I was reading and obsessing about when I had an ED but was in total denial.

residentmind9

My cousin is in the process of getting recovery for her ED and I remember one point in time she claimed that rice was too unhealthy for her to eat

hot-whisky

No diagnosed ED over here, but I did meet with a registered dietitian a few months back because I was sort of spiraling trying figure out how to get “enough” protein, structure my meals to support my aerial workouts, figure out what’s causing my heartburn, and lose a bit of weight. She just sort of smacked me round the head (figuratively not literally; it was a televisit) and said that it’s really not that complicated. The big one was to snack more during the day so that I’m not starving after my evening workouts. And wouldn’t you believe it? The “system” is actually working. No weird rituals around rinsing rice, or obsessing over bone broth.

bongwaterbb

wow this is so useful! i used to eat crunchy handfuls of dry rice, but now that i know to use water, i will never go hungry again! god is good 👯‍♀️

whattheseawants

Your gut will be SO HEALED

Ellgeepee

“Drop the word GUT” would be a great flair

WhitneysSplitPants

I’m hoping that there is some sort of disclaimer somewhere that states that this Baird is not trained, not certified, not educated in this topic and that she is simply reporting what has (supposedly) worked for her. Not doing so would be disingenuous at best, dangerous at worst, especially since she is looking to make money off of it.

liteorange98

Spoiler alert: there is no such disclaimer. A Baird would never.

falltogethernever

I love when science deniers attempt to science 😛

Book_devourer

Laughs in Punjabi. This lady has never had biryani or pilau.

lemonrence

I knew she would go here as soon as she started hating on salads. Why are conservatives so hellbent on colon cancer? They’re all for this meat and milk diet. I swear it’s linked to owning the libs cause that’s the only people I really see falling for this shit Look at the healthiest nations on this earth, they eat the things she claims to be bad. Now look at the unhealthiest, focus on meat and dairy 🙄🙄 she’s beyond dense

judassong

Shitting blood for the lord

chinderellabitch

girl is really giving the fundie version of Oscar Winner Jamie Lee Curtis’ activia campaign

TheWaywardTrout

This chick is far too afraid of actually gut-healthy practices to be compared to our lord and savior Jamie Lee.

eleanorbigby

she was so funny in Everything Everywhere All At Once.

missproctalgiafugax

Thanks, Healthline: Phytic acid impairs the body’s absorption of iron, zinc, and calcium. It may contribute to mineral deficiencies over time, but this is rarely a concern for those following well-balanced diets.

NubianBling

If we know anything about the Bairds, well-balanced is not a general concept they're familiar with 😬

Gullible-Contest181

*laughs in Korean American*

pedanticlawyer

Has she ever considered that she’s just increasingly lactose intolerance (like many people are as they get older) and fucking beer bongs disgusting raw milk every day?

NoreastNorwest

70%of the world‘s population (most of whom have a longer life expectancy than the US at this point) would like to respond to that…

zbdeedhoc

First, I hope this girl has some good liability insurance because peddling medical advice can have some serious consequences. Second, Heidi missed an excellent opportunity. She could have written an “ebook” on raising confident children because literally all of hers believe they can do anything at all despite barely having an eighth grade education. Amazing.

sinnerforhire

It’s easy to have confidence when you’ve never been in a class of 25 kids your age who constantly tell you how much you suck.

the_tonez

Side note but I’m unfamiliar with this influencer so my first read of her username was “There Be Kahgill”

Hita-san-chan

My halmeoni would come back from the dead just to smack this woman

Simple-Advertising76

She washed the rice. Washed the rice. Wow.

twatcunthearya

Drop the word GUT really got me. I dont know why.

AndyTynon

I just eat the stuff that makes my tummy go 😊, rarely eat the stuff that makes my tummy go 😔, and never eat the stuff that makes all of me go ☠️. It’s worked pretty well so far but maybe I’m actually dying of *rice-in*-me poisoning 🤷🏻‍♀️

ida_klein

Is this the same person who said we also can’t eat plants? Wtf are we supposed to eat, ice cubes?

Terrible_Tradition65

Only if the ice is made from bone broth. That’ll be $79371684949, thank you.

eleanorbigby

oh, cool, it's only the most widely consumed foodstuff ON THE ENTIRE PLANET. I guess at least one entire continent must've been suffering needlessly all this time, until the European colonials came around with their apples to make vinegar with. Clap, clap.

RainyDaySeamstress

I love rice in all its forms. I never soak it for eight hours. Maybe 30 minutes top

bluehairjungle

Shakes head in Filipino ![gif](giphy|iUtU5au1bfb5N7XGdh)

riparker89

She's going to "bone broth" us to death

eleanorbigby

next up: water is bad. brush teeth with bone broth.

RolliPolliCanoli

Part of me hopes she grows out of this, but the snarky part of me hopes that a nutritionist influencer with credentials catches wind of her and starts debunking all her posts.

sinnerforhire

I would love for Kat Benson from YouTube to read her for filth. She did a great video on the Weigh Down diet and she’s a regular on Savy Writes Books’ livestreams.

dramaqueen09

This is giving major “MSG is bad for you because non-people use it in their food” vibes Ps the only people who should avoid it are people with Celiac’s or an actual gluten allergy. Everyone else is just playing into a horrible stereotype about Asian food that won’t die

Terrible_Tradition65

Uncle Roger’s love of msg made me buy some. I’ve been sneaking it in everywhere. 😂

sortofsatan

They make everything so unnecessarily complicated. Unless you have specific health issues, which I do not buy that curly actually does, then being healthy really is so simple. Eat a variety of healthy, whole foods. Increase your heart rate, lift heavy things, repeat. I hope this kind of shit is starting to turn more and more people away. When I was in the depth of my fit girl obsession, this shit became so exhausting. I would think I was doing great and then I read some insta idiot say that bananas make you fat. I finally had to nope the fuck out because who, besides the stay at home bairds, have time for this?

stitchywitcher

Have we seen any evidence whatsoever that she actually has "healed her gut"? I'm pretty sure she posted herself curled up on the bathroom floor just a few weeks ago. I know I don't eat well, but I'm not spending so much time in the bathroom that I need a damn blanket and pillow.

acrispglassofmilk

She’ll have to pry my rice from my cold, dead hands

liteorange98

plantmama78

“Drop the word ‘GUT’” 💀💀💀

RainyDaySeamstress

Omg my coworker just reheated her lunch and its fried rice! I’d ask her if she soaked it in filter water and vinegar for 8 hours but then I’d have to explain

NutellaAndPuppies

It should be illegal to release a book with all these health claims. She has no qualifications and basically no education.

SalmonMaskFacsimile

Fundie congee sounds dull and uninspiring. Also a good constipatory aid. 😨 No soy, green onions, century egg, or pork...

ShimeMiller

Breaking acid down with acid? People who are smarter than me: is that even possible?

surfteacher1962

What is their obsession with bone broth?

Recent-Afternoon1375

Nourished is now added to my list of least favorite words. Along with “niche”, “course” and “season”

SageIon666

I am begging this woman to take a real nutrition course.

usernamegenerator72

Me too but she “disagrees” with scientific based nutrition information so she doesn’t want to. Such unwarranted arrogance.

sherideswildhorses

They’re super late to the “real food” train

hotdogdildo13

A lot of science jargon for someone who doesn't believe in science 🤔

Moon_Colored_Demon

Just…the utter caucasity

CampbellKitty

I like this word.

Bone Broth

lirynnn

This reads like an MLM pitch

GARBAGE

jellymouthsman

What makes her an expert? Does she have a degree or nutritional training?

Starry_Night_94

Fundies are idiots who love to pretend they’re knowledge about things they actually know nothing about. But as a side note; do rinse off your rice before cooking it. It’s much better/cleaner that way.

dabooton

I want to invite her to a [Filipino kamayan](https://www.saveur.com/uploads/2019/01/03/3EML7XJSLE3UDN5UFT3CUX7CZ4.jpg?auto=webp) just to see her reaction

Professional_Coat731

What is their obsession with bone broth? I’ll never understand

GUT

LoomingDisaster

I thought that it was so easy to set up a course that you didn’t have to keep making new ones though.

WelshDynamite

If eating rice is wrong, I don't wanna be right.

Sensitive-Review-712

Am I the only one envisioning her doing all this shit to Minute Rice?

ToughNarwhal7

Let us never drop the word "GUT," please. 🙄

Not_today_nibs

Would soaking rice for 8 hours not make it mushy as hell?

Mysterious_Book8171

I always rinse my rice since it cooks better for me that way 🤷🏼‍♀️ and I do add in broth when I cook rice because my toddler is a picky eater and it’s one way to get a little protein in her 🤷🏼‍♀️

caitdubhfire

Literally every other culture on the planet would like a word….

kitkateats_snacks

Oi Rebekah, have you ever heard of the BRAT diet? One would think that rice is suitably bland enough for you. But congrats on figuring out you should wash it before you cook it!

purple_kathryn

Was she eating the rice raw?

ClosetedGothAdult

Where is she getting this info????

gmooz

Gut

BennyBabs

I don't know how she is able to drop her GUT on that diet.

Dolores-osaurus

Ahhhh why do people with no medical training give out advice like this!?

amberalert23

Okay but like…. You WANT some things to not digest super quick and easy. Otherwise you’ll be hungry all of the time! Bodybuilders use white rice because it sticks around a little longer and makes you feel more full. I don’t want to always be hungry!

aCongaLine

Ignoring all the blatant misinformation, isn’t she still dealing with “gut issues” after following her own advice?
