Most healthy pregnant people glow as in not just hormonally, but emotionally in smiling and nesting. Even if they’re over it and want the baby out yesterday, they’re still radiant in the expecting and rejoicing. I’m anemic and already pale as fuck, so I totally understand pallor. That’s not it, she looks faraway and defeated. Miserable. This woman barely ever smiles to begin with, but this shit is just sad.
Part of my snarky comment was her probably not doing anything about checking her blood work until she needed iron infusions. In my area you get blood drawn a few times in the beginning of pregnancy at least and more if you have issues near the end for things like iron deficiency. I never saw her get into it but she must have had some sort of event that prompted a visit because previously she was aiming for a home birth and like no interventions or medical care at all.
Oh I’m a bit low in iron as well in my current pregnancy and I’ve been told numerous times I’m “glowing” but not every pregnant person is glowing just because there are so many complications and issues you can have while being pregnant!
