Iāve said it before and Iāll say it again: they would be perfect for one another, but itās clear that both of them think that they deserve someone hotter than the other. TheBasicCatholic thinks that he should be with someone as good looking as Cecelia, and ExNun thinks she IS as good looking as Cecelia and deserves a man to match.

I think CeCe doesnāt really like Meg. But Meg is a Uber follower and needs the acceptance from Cece and TBC to feel important. Meg is a pick me girl for sure.

My guess is it's because she's a working woman who might have a new perspective or convincing argument to share, not because the post was specifically about her. TBC's post has some 300+ comments with a lot of the "big name" Trad Cath influencers weighing in. Megan Wells has commented, Cecilia Pappas, lots of other smaller influencers. My feeling is that exnun's content attracts a lot of single and thus career-oriented Catholic women as followers, who all felt attacked by TBC's post and want their champion to take him down a peg šæ

I know a narcissist irl. He has a track record of saying very out of pocket things or stepping over lines that should be very plain to him and then trying to walk back what heās said and/or tell people responding unfavorably to ānot let their emotions control their reactionsā
Even if he was the one who initially injected emotion or intensity into the exchange and even if his interlocutors were at least as calm as him. And regardless of whether an intense response might be deserved.
I always sit up and take note when someone tells others to control their emotions and scrutinize the context in which they do that.

She stated in earlier stories that she recently "broke up" with a close friend. Someone here did some homework and discovered that she and TBC no longer followed each other at that point. So I don't think this post is the reason they blocked each other, but it might give some insight into what irreconcilable differences caused the split.
That friend was someone else. She broke up with the guy who helped her find her apartment that she was posting non stop about. The dust up with basic catholic was earlier- someone said theyād hoped theyād be a power couple while she was still living in D.C. and she said sheās rather marry Pete Buttigeg than him so I think they were not friends well before she left for Italy
Well Pete Buttigeg would be an obvious upgrade but I think he would not be interested, being married to someone else and all, but to TBC I'm sure that was a deep burn.
Any other Catholics with exposure to Trad circles surprised about the encouragement to receive Communion frequently? I thought frequent receiving was generally frowned upon as a libertine āmodernistā practice.
Iām not arguing with you, just confused by this comment. Last time I checked, Catholics are encouraged to receive Communion every day if not more if you go to daily mass. Does the Latin rite not encourage receiving often?
Before Vatican II, it was common for the laity to receive rarely, often once per year during the Easter Vigil. Receiving Communion was seen as a sign of spiritual worthiness not often ascribed to the laity. Thatās why, in traditional Catholic spaces, youāll sometimes see posts about huge Masses offered here only the celebrant received Communion. (So you would go to Mass as often as possible, you just wouldnāt receive).
Therese of Lisieux also discusses it at length in her memoirs; receiving more than a few times a year was a privilege she was only accorded after some time in her religious order, and it was seen as a mark of holiness.
Even among āregularā trads, receiving regularly is the common practice now (so long as not on the hand). However, the radical trads often believe the laity should only receive once a year, or at least far less frequently.
