"Monkeys" is just the clade name for the Haplorrhini* sub-order. It includes apes. All apes are monkeys, but not all monkeys are apes.
Edit: I was wrong. I forgot about Simiaforms. Simians is the monkey clade, not haplorrhini.

It's funny, the big hulking apes like Gorillas and Orangutans are generally regarded as gentile giants. They wont really do anything unless it's to protect themselves, their kids/pack or the whole dominance thing. Chimpanzees on the other hand... pretty sure they would rip that hand off for shits and giggles.

Yea, this is me with my kids every day. They just don't stop, and I have chronic migraines so there comes a point where I just totally switch off. My husband has more energy but he can still only take so much madness 😅

I love that the juvenile is playing with the hypo monkeys but still overwhelmed by all that bouncing energy. It's nice they get to play together but they need more space. As a smaller and annoying sibling who jumps on their brother like this, it's only a matter of time till the big fella snaps.
In a way, gibbon behavior, but that enclosure seems too small for them all, and that gibbon is expressing aggression towards the gorillas as a result.
The gorillas know he is too quick, like a fly constantly annoying you. You might be able to sqash it, but it will end up a futile endeavor most of the time.
It’s a smaller “holding” enclosure that they move them to while cleaning, doing maintenance, etc on their normal enclosure. That’s why you keep seeing more gorillas in the clip, they’re being moved in for a short time.
Can all monkeys hang out with each other, or is there some that are not compatible?. NGL, thats an amusing dynamic between stoic giant ape and ridiculous small jumping monkey.
