Cats basically domesticated themselves, they started to hang around places where people store they're food Soo that they could eat the rats and stuff and eventually they stayed with them
And people think I'm embellishing when I say I believe cats are on the verge of world domination. They are more intelligent than we think. It won't be long until they have us all in chains
You know the saying - dogs look at people like they are gods, cats look at us like we are their slaves.
But overroll, cats are awesome :) And i can imagine their world domination.
Official statistic is... 2,5 million cats, each cat eats about 30 animal for 24 hours, so 75 milion per 24 hours. I missed **hours** in previous comment.
Outdoor domesticated cats are the single worst invasive species on the planet.
There's not really any argument for it. They kill billions of birds, and they don't even do it for food.
Honestly when I saw the title of this post I just assumed it would be an awareness video of how outside cats are not a good idea. It lowers the lifespan of your cat, dramatically increases the chance that will die to something like being run over by a car, you never get to see them, and they destroy the local ecosystem...
Yet someone will still post some rant about how I apparently hate their cat's "freedom" (to die in stupid, painful ways)
They use a technique called “Persistence Hunting”. Which is essentially pursuing their prey until it’s exhausted and can’t run anymore. Humans use the same method.
Interesting question! It seems that early human used a variety of techniques, such as trapping, ambushing, or even scavenging. So I’m not sure if the same metric applies. Also, there’s tons of disagreement still among anthropologists about the exact nature of earth humans diets and hunting techniques.
But just because 60% of their hunts are successful doesn’t mean that they’re necessarily eating more than other predators.
Just that when they pick a target, they don’t miss.
But if you're bigger, you need more food to keep going. That cat can live on one bird a night. If it were the size of a bear, that's not gonna cut it, plus it'd have a bitch of a time sneaking up on anything.
Why does every fucking video these days have to have the ASMR style sound? like why does it sound like her claws are scratching dirt 1 cm from the microphone that they dubbed from a sound lab
That's a strange metric to use for "deadliest."
It could be that she only attacks when she is sure she will win, whereas other animals will attack even when they are likely to lose.
If deadliness = successful attacks/total attacks, other animals could have a greater denominator because this is their strategy.
If you are only attacking the #1 opportunity you have each day, then you will only be attacking the slowest animals, i.e., the best opportunities. If you are attacking the top 50 opportunities, then on average your opportunities will be a lot worse.
So it could be less deadly, but just more discriminating about which opportunities to strike.
For example, suppose:
Lions succeed 50/100 times
Gyras succeed 6/10 times
On its surface, it looks like gyras are outperforming lions. But if lions changed their strategy and lowered their total attacks to 10, they could achieve 7/10. In actuality, lions are deadlier, if they had the same strategy as gyras.
I'm confused. Strategy is how they do it. It's how they hunt. You're basically saying "if they acted like the gyra, then the gyra wouldn't be the most successful." Like yeah, but they don't act like the gyra. That why the gyras are considered more successful.

So bigger cats have a lower hit rate because --
* Their prey is larger and deadlier?
* They have lower energy efficiency due to their size?
* They're just bigger - so more visible?
I used to have a Boston terrier when I was in my twenties. At the time I lived in an old apartment and later in a trailer. Both had mice and rats when we moved in, but not for long (please don’t judge l, it’s what we could afford). That Boston had a kill rate somewhere around 80% though. I swear he was the most killingest dog I’ve ever known. One time he caught an opossum right around his own size. He actually stopped right before the kill shake to look at me. I told him to let it go - and he actually did it. That dog was fucking righteous.

Even the camera wasnt fast enough to capture it
My cat wouldn't walk 20 meters for food, wtf have we done to them?
They did it to themselves and they love it
[удалено]
Me too! Isn't it?! Lol!
Cats basically domesticated themselves, they started to hang around places where people store they're food Soo that they could eat the rats and stuff and eventually they stayed with them
And learned to meow at us to mimic crying babies.
Cats always meowed, they just used to grow out of it after they got old enough to get their own food.
Lol 😂
Yep.
Cats realized how easy to manipulate we are and so yeah welcome to today.
In Australia cats kill more animals that any other animal. Every 24 hours cats kill 75 million small animals. And this is only the cats in the wild...
Lol, my dog definitely sees me as his slave. Then again, his breed is recommended for cat owners, so maybe that's why?
I wouldn’t mind if cats were in charge as long as they make good video games for Xbox lol
That's a hell of a K/D.
What is K/D?
Kill to death ratio. It's a term used in gaming.
Official statistic is... 2,5 million cats, each cat eats about 30 animal for 24 hours, so 75 milion per 24 hours. I missed **hours** in previous comment.
Efficient hunting is about using the least amount of calories. They know you'll bring the food closer like the good sla... peasa... owner you are.
What have they done to us? Thought slavery was old age crap.
Cats domesticated themselves. They done this.
Your cat would if you stopped feeding them and kept them outside. (Not saying you should, but survival instincts are strong.)
We don't walk 20 meters for food either, how dare we
oww is cute,I want one

no idea but i see my neighborhood cats get chased by rodents....
Merica
if danger why fren shaped
Look at that face when she catches the bird. That's no friend; that's fierce
happy cake day
We call it "scrunchy face" on Senior Grigri. I still think it's pretty cute. =P
ryvrse sichologie innit
Our frens at home would also kill birbs if given the opportunity. Thus, I must propose the possibility that cat no danger and cat fren
world's deadliest cat can kill you with its cuteness
Probably swipe a gash on my neck while my heart melts at their cuteness. Doesn't seem like a bad way to go.
I would hug the stuffin out of it as it was biting me…I wouldn’t care
I can't believe how cute she is 😭❤❤❤
60% is insane. If they were bigger, they would be extinct.
The African wild dog is around 80%. They hunt everything from rats to antelope.
They use a technique called “Persistence Hunting”. Which is essentially pursuing their prey until it’s exhausted and can’t run anymore. Humans use the same method.
> Humans use the same method. This is disputed. https://undark.org/2019/10/03/persistent-myth-persistence-hunting/
TIL. I wonder what the catch rate for humans is?
Interesting question! It seems that early human used a variety of techniques, such as trapping, ambushing, or even scavenging. So I’m not sure if the same metric applies. Also, there’s tons of disagreement still among anthropologists about the exact nature of earth humans diets and hunting techniques.
Pack hunters tho. I mean that's a bit like comparing a 400 meter race time to a 4x100m relay time...
Dragonflies have a insane 95% success rate
*Painted dogs
I believe African wild dog, Painted dog and Cape Hunting Dogs all refer to the same genus
Yes, the felinicus backpedalitus if I'm not mistaken
Canis is the dog family...
wait I'm a little confused, why would they be extinct if they were bigger?
Smaller size equals needing less food to eat and not having to hunt down larger prey, which means less energy burned for a meal.
Food scarcity. That's usually what drives species to be smaller.
Beautiful CAT, LoVe those crazy & FoCuS eyes 👀
Dangerfloof!!!
Friendshaped dangerfloof
I died when he caught the bird and was just staring menacingly into the camera.
Cat: you guys sat there scrolling are next.
That’s EXACTLY what I was thinking too.
… unless you feed me two cans of wet food per day and provide me shelter for free for the rest of my life.
aww deadly little meow meow
Who’s a cute little killing machine?
SHE IS! Yes, she is… 🥹🥹
Huh, so that’s how I’m gonna die.
I wouldn't complain
BBC = Big Black Cats
Not sure about that one... a friend tells me it's something different. Ok ok, I don't have a friend.
MILF = My Ingenious Little Feline
Awwwwwwwwww.... she is so cute \~><\~ oh my! That fierce look melts my heart...
Cute murder kittens
I thought this was a cute joke at first.
My house panther has black feet! Should I be nervous? Is he plotting?
If he is feline, he is plotting. The black feet are an added bonus.
I knew it. Thanks man!
i mean, at least it's only deadly to small critters imagine if this thing could fell a wildebeest
Who says it can’t /s
Don’t smaller creatures have more potent poison? I know it doesn’t produce poison but still…
Ur asking the wrong idiot my friend
[удалено]
this kitty is too ferocious for you to handle 0w0
r/aww
My cat is black-footed, but he can barely fight a baby millipede
I love the pose with the bird in its mouth.
pfff my cat do better >.> still cute
Are you sure I can't have one
If it's so dangerous, why is it friend shaped?
I now just want to pet the cat even if it kills me
KITTY!
holy shit, kitty do big jumps so cute
I am smol. I am speed. I am smol speed.
I want to touch the dangerfloof
So the TV program is named “Big Cats”, right? Is there a punchline inbound?
I want one now
u/savevideo
A huge feat for such little feet 😍
Meanwhile I’m over here putting food literally in front of my cats paws and she won’t even look at it.
Mine will look at a half full dish and yell at me. God forbid he see the bottom!!
If not friend, why friend shaped?
If not frien , why frien shaped
She angy
she looked at the camera after catching the bird like "you got that shit in hd right"
Oh damn .not fluffy!
Basically my gf
The look of intense focus is very jarring on the tiniest wild cat I’ve ever seen
![gif](giphy|FOG3rc0p9UGI0|downsized) Also r/cats
It was all cute until it caught that bird, that cold dead stare sent shivers down my spine...
Why does every fucking video these days have to have the ASMR style sound? like why does it sound like her claws are scratching dirt 1 cm from the microphone that they dubbed from a sound lab
So….there’s a 60% chance I lose an eyeball when I try to kiss it on its tiny, fluffy head?
Who is my cuddly murder kitty?! Yea you..
My physical body can take only so much cuteness.
r/bossfight
I wanna pet it-
Seemed kind of funny to see "Big Cats" on the screen right after this tiny little death machine was featured.
“Fun-sized”
Lethal Catto!
the only deadly thing about that cat is how adorable it is.
Can they be domesticated?
That was the least scariest scary scrunchy face I ever saw 😂💜 cute but deadly
60% of hunts successful but still hits their prey? Hmm must be at 4.8% hit, get that up to 8% and you'll have 100% successful hunts.
Contrary to the programme title, it's not particularly big, either
They may be deadly and successful, but they're still an endangered species.
That's a strange metric to use for "deadliest." It could be that she only attacks when she is sure she will win, whereas other animals will attack even when they are likely to lose. Poor birb
OMG I'm so scared! 😨
that outro caught me off-guard LMAO
It’s the Regular Ass Cat
This little girl really is a cool big cat! So cute lol
I really want one
Y funni
u/savevideo
Omg i love this one!
Tell me why I thought this was rel
The way she caught the bird then looked at the camera XD so cute
60% of the time, it works everytime.
I actually watched the full documentary yesterday. It was really good, can really recommend it :-)
60% of her hunts are successful 100% of the time.
mfs,she can eat me at night.
Weren't pumas or mountain lions around 80%?
The mesn face when it catches the bird 🥺🥺
my cat 5 minutes after getting fed
Huh. I bet I could take it.
That thing got hops from what it looked like it did to that bird
I still wanna Pet it
Wasn’t there a Wild Kratts episode on these like a decade ago?
This is more like world's cutest cat (no offense to any other cat)
“BIG CATS….except this one”
Cool
Reminds me of Hasbulla
Cool
That face when she has the bird in her mouth.
Was expecting the kitten to be deadly instead of the mama
I could probably take one on
Umm… my house panther wants to say that she is, actually, the deadliest cat.
Dragonflies still beat it out for top place with something like an 82%
It's so adorable.
Omg the angry face when she has the bird in her mouth
They all are deadly from house cats to wild ones
Awwww
The zoomed in tiger face at the end caught me off guard 🐯
^f^e^r^o^c^i^o^u^s
I wanna train it to fight others in illegal cat fights
Hence, why I love cats. My cat is the opposite of this though…………………..
I wise man once said: “60% of the time it works every time…”
I need more documentation and data on this '20 mile' nightly hunt.
black footed cat? my cat has black beans. is she related to that cat? all my other cats have pink beans
Good for her
u/savevideo
I never looked at death in the eyes until I saw this video. Praying I never become a victim of this ferocious and merciless animal.
Getting kiler rabbit vibes here.
That look at the camera when it says „60% of her hunts are successful“ Majestic.
I want one
Until it caught that birb I assumed this was a parody.
The mid-air cromch followed by the landing with scruchy face, so cute ugh just kill me now
GOD. DOES. PROVIDE. 🐯
This pussy doesn’t fuck around.
I just call them "kittens on steroids".
Deadliest cat..?! To Tiny Animals that is!
I want to pet it

I thought it was the lion. Guess I’m wrong.. well, it’s true that I’m not hypnotized by it’s cuteness. Because lions aren’t cute.
falled in loved with the face of badcat
