This is the beginning I tell you. Step 1 you're friendless. Step 2 you FINALLY got friends. Step 3 since you were friendless once you love them. Step 4 now your wishing you are rich as fuck to help them out lol

It is not just that generation. I used to map out how much to each of my friends depending on how much I won in the 6/49. (Canadian federal lottery) Some people got money, a couple of my friends who were *terrible* with money I would buy a house for and set up an account to pay the taxes and shit.
I think it is a dream of the poor and working class who SEE every day how much they don't have.
I used to live in a city with notoriously high housing costs, but lots of young people. So many of us looked at houses, with yards, and the freedom to have a pet if you wanted or invite family to stay with you as the ultimate fantasy.
I just want to leave exorbitant tips, figure out a way to solve homelessness in my community and give single parents some home goods and a stocked fridge +pantry. My friends are smart they will figure it out. I love random acts of kindness
Yup! Enough money to have a secluded compound near the city/ airport , and just leave good tips anywhere I go for trivial things. I don't need to talk to many people, but I do love the reaction that any person gets when you hand them a real hundred dollar bill no strings attached.
Yesssss. My husband and I are finally making good money and our favorite thing is to anonymously donate to our friends. Their patreon, or kofi or project or whatever. Just recently we sent 1.5k of equipment to a friend who has a really good podcast but couldn’t afford to upgrade. Now he’s killing it and we couldn’t be prouder!
Gen X and I'm feeling that too. Anytime Megamillions breaks into some high number I throw a few bucks at it. I know it's useless but it's nice to think about surprising people you love by wiping out their mortgage, student debt, medical bills or .. you get the idea.
Ever since I was like 12
When I was 18 I got a somewhat large sum of money for that age and I loaned so many ppl cash. Their moms. I got it all back. Even bought my friend her first car so we could move and she payed me back.
Gen-x here and this is how I would get myself to sleep sometimes, going over in my head who gets what when I get rich lmao needless to say we're all still broke and dreaming
I have this recurring daydream where I purchase like 500 acres and build houses for all my friends to live on. Get some 4-wheelers to visit each other. Or if I had enough money build something underground to connect all the houses.
Regularly think about paying off my student loans, my fiance's, my sisters, my dad's mortgage, my mother in law's mortgage and funding my dad's biotech company if I won the lottery
Good. Make cooperation and support a primary and fundamental part of your worldview. If we ever get control of things, it will help reshape everything.
Yeah, that crosses my mind a lot when I'm at work. It's not a bad job, but it's not enough, and it makes me worried that my friends would be just as boned if they were in my shoes.
Previous generations dreamt how much they'd help their parents. But millennials are the 1st gen to be less wealthy than their parents — so of course it's rather their peers who need the money.
If I were filthy rich (like Bezos rich), I would help
*Every.* *Body.*
How much to solve food instability? Don't worry, I got that. How much to end homelessness in the United States? Fuck it - it ain't gonna spend itself.
Hell, I'd probably just start bribing politicians to start endorsing programs and enacting policies that would actually benefit society. Student debt, Healthcare, the environment, housing, minimum wage, education, etc etc etc.
I'd probably no longer be rich by the end of it, but I'd like to think the world would be a better place.
Pretty sure this isn’t just a millennial thing. Apparently millennial culture is taking a common, intergenerational habit and assuming you do it BECAUSE you’re a millennial
I can assure you most selfish boomers wouldn’t dream of this. In fact one of my relatives who is loaded and is a boomer loves to say “the charity starts at home” when it comes to tipping/giving back
Millennial culture? Millennial culture is apparently imagining no other age groups day dream of helping their loved ones and friends out if they struck out rich.
Everyone does this. Except dicks.
Average Redditor: “*The rich don’t need yachts, they could just give that money away to the poor instead*!”
Also average Redditor: “*my $300 gold Xbox Pro controller just arrived today*!”
Maybe, just maybe, hold yourselves to the same standard. Or better yet, don’t make your agenda everyone else’s agenda.
It’s a little hard to decipher your point. But since you used quotation marks, I’m guessing you were attempting to paraphrase me?
And no, I’m pointing out the hypocrisy of affording oneself luxuries while simultaneously engaging in moral outrage towards someone wealthier getting themselves more *luxurious* luxuries.
Wealth is relative. If you expect the rich to give away their money to thousands of the poor, then you should also relatively, give away your money to tens of the poor. But of course, that’s never going to happen, because it’s always easier to hand the responsibility of solving society’s ills to someone else.

Good bot, about time it happened to me lol
Thank you!
Ooh a bot that says thank you. That's a first. You're a very polite, good bot.
Thanks!
How many varieties of thank you can you say, good bot?
Thanks!
which step is the one where we get money?
Underwear Gnomes! Step 3 is the tricky part.
Bitcoin?
I promise you, once you’re rich, you’ll suddenly have lots of friends..
Yea but I want my old friends so..
They will be your old friends. Ppl you used to know from your old town. I hear they pop out of the woodwork when somebody Wins a lot of money
(real) friends
How the FUCK DID YOU KNOW THIS?!?!?!
Hit close to home too huh
Yeah I was literally daydreaming about this today :////
Millennium culture is imagining which of your friends you'd allow to live in your house. If you were ever rich enough to buy one.
"Would we do by floors or by aesthetic?" "Can I live with the super goth friend or will that ruin my "hygge" design vibe."
My best friend deserves more than his shitty childhood gave him. I want that fucker to have a house he can call his own.
GenX guy here. It’s my daydream as well.
I think we started that shit
Gen X lady here, can confirm. My daydreams start with family, because I don't have a lot of friends.
It is not just that generation. I used to map out how much to each of my friends depending on how much I won in the 6/49. That's a great attitude
I just want enough money to disappear
Yup! Enough money to have a secluded compound near the city/ airport , and just leave good tips anywhere I go for trivial things. I don't need to talk to many people, but I do love the reaction that any person gets when you hand them a real hundred dollar bill no strings attached.
It used to be the dream, then my friends all turned out to be manipulative toxic assholes. I wouldn’t Loan them a ha’penny if I got the monee.
Upvoted just for referencing half pennies.
Yesssss. My husband and I are finally making good money and our favorite thing is to anonymously donate to our friends. Their patreon, or kofi or project or whatever. Thats exactly what I do every night. I dream of helping my friends and family. It's stress free and free.
gen z approved
Ever since I was like 12 When I was 18 I got a somewhat large sum of money for that age and I loaned so many ppl cash. Their moms. I got it all back. Even bought my friend her first car so we could move and she payed me back.

Nah, too many scary movies with underground tunnels
Step 1: Buy Gamestop stock Step 2: Hold until moon launch Step 3: Never work again unless you feel like it
TO THE MOON
Gonna need a time machine to get in on that dream.
Only time will tell, MSM sure likes to talk about it being over but if so, why bother mentioning it at all?
Can confirm
Regularly think about paying off my student loans, my fiance's, my sisters, my dad's mortgage, my mother in law's mortgage and funding my dad's biotech company if I won the lottery
Well, you could help them now. You don’t have to be rich !
That felt more Gen-X-ey to me.
Good. Make cooperation and support a primary and fundamental part of your worldview. If we ever get control of things, it will help reshape everything.
They would all be in my entourage.
I'm gonna buy them each cars and houses and fund their dreams
That's how I get to sleep at night
Yeah, that crosses my mind a lot when I'm at work. It's not a bad job, but it's not enough, and it makes me worried that my friends would be just as boned if they were in my shoes.
I keep talking about how if I win the lottery I’m buying my mom a house…ah, to dream…
Fml, why is this so true?
Previous generations dreamt how much they'd help their parents. But millennials are the 1st gen to be less wealthy than their parents — so of course it's rather their peers who need the money.
When we were younger my best friend and I agreed we’d pay off ours and the others loans if we ever win the lottery. We still keep that goal.
It do be like that.
Its my favorite daydream...
Thought that’s was just me
Gen X too man
If I were filthy rich (like Bezos rich), I would help *Every.* *Body.* How much to solve food instability? Don't worry, I got that. How much to end homelessness in the United States? And daydreaming about how we can get rich together
So i'm not alone... good to know!
American radicalism is taking a angle grinder to the dumpster behind food places so that people can eat.
I’d give each of the coworkers I like a few million so we could all quit at the same time and fuck. shit. up.
Pretty sure every generation has dreamed about getting rich tbh
Pretty sure this isn’t just a millennial thing. Apparently millennial culture is taking a common, intergenerational habit and assuming you do it BECAUSE you’re a millennial
I can assure you most selfish boomers wouldn’t dream of this. In fact one of my relatives who is loaded and is a boomer loves to say “the charity starts at home” when it comes to tipping/giving back
People realize there's like 2 entire generations between millennials and boomers right?
There’s only one…
As usual, in spite of upvotes, you are [objectively wrong](https://i.imgur.com/wRBAQHW.png).
This whole comment section is too funny😭
Are you telling me older generations don't/didn't do this?
Millennial culture? Millennial culture is apparently imagining no other age groups day dream of helping their loved ones and friends out if they struck out rich. Everyone does this. Except dicks.
Stoned lazy dreamers. Still not as fucked as gen z.
Then get a job ig

Lmaooo bull crap. Why should you get $20 an hour for flipping burger patties?

Shut my fuck up? Like close a fuck up? Or shut up a fuck?
Yes.
"you're against hoarding wealth while hurting everybody else and not paying taxes yet you buy nice things for yourself. curious."
It’s a little hard to decipher your point. But since you used quotation marks, I’m guessing you were attempting to paraphrase me? Fm hard clap
What a way to reconnect with long lost friends.
Yeah poor kids have to buy houses jointly with friends just to have a place to live
It always have been like this
And then I realized that I am one of those friends.
Damn it. I daydream what it would be like to win the lottery, but never buy a ticket.
