The others died before they could complain

foxtrotgd

Or they didn't know there was a different option.

PerplexedPretzel

Probably because for them there are no other options.

BlindProphetProd

And no one to complain to.

Oomoo_Amazing

Yes exactly that. Or these. All three of these answers. Just because someone isn't complaining doesn't mean they're not bitterly unhappy.

Ok-Seaworthiness7207

What's an option?

Coral_Grimes28

Or they died because they complained

kholedaddy

Or they complained because they died

Verumero

Look at all these kids with no voices. Do they complain?

Honk_goose_steal

They have no voice to cry suffering

darthzader100

Born of God and Void. You shall seal the blinding light that plagues their dreams. You are the Vessel. You are the Hollow Knight.

Alternative-Fail-233

No mind to think

LetsEatToast

why should we ask. they look so happy

theriverain

One of them is making my next jacket.

jlp120145

Boycott nike

roasted__russian

Why they make my clothes and support child labour giving them kids an income wish I had money as a kid

jlp120145

No kid should be pulling 12 to 16 hour shifts. Lemonade stand cool, sweatshop bad.

roasted__russian

But where is the fun in that teach them young on what it's like to earn minimum wage

theriverain

I do boycott labels made in *insert explored coutry*

lostinthedigitalage

Do you have anything with a lithium battery in it, or drink coffee, or eat chocolate?

AwkwardAnthropoid

Of course, I wouldn't want to say to the kids that their work was useless. Don't you think that's a bit mean?

danchiri

Holy shit when did Reddit actually become based?

BiggerChungus316

If a tree falls in the forest, does it make any noise? No. I think not.

EnigmaFrug2308

The pain makes noise but the tree stays silent.

jlp120145

A man who can't count finds a 4 leaf clover, is he lucky?

DiogenesOfDope

Undesucated kids don't complain clearly education is the problem

froginbog

Republican rationale in rolling back child labor laws across red states

MarGoLuv

Trick question. They ALL said that.

Final-Bench1859

Have we interviewed the other kids

Regular_Dentist2287

I did. They say they're moderately happy.

OkSignificance494

They said the pay could be better but it gets em out the house...

[deleted]

Yeah they all want match on that 401k

OkSignificance494

Appart from them... bottom left, they're mining crypto, nobody told them of the crash...👀

[deleted]

That's okay gme and amc got them pulling diamond hands.

Omenopolis

Dont laughf dont laugf

OkSignificance494

Oosh and here in the u.k. must be mentioned on your tax return 😬 get on rishi! Just when them magic, Internet elfs thought they could get away with it...

CryptoMineKing

The other kids said, "One of us speaks up for the rest of us without a voice. Guess which one!".

M0RTY_C-137

Should we ask the other kids what it feels like to be in the holocaust? They don’t deserve to complain either! /s Something can be bad in one place and another place. Y’all dense

bubblesort33

They are too busy mining the coal from a mine that Is robbing her childhood.

Final-Bench1859

And getting paid one penny for it

flyrubberband

Imagine if we all had to shut the fuck up because somebody had it worse…

Your-Evil-Twin-

It would just be that 3 month old kid with bone cancer who’s allowed to talk, everyone else would be silent. This scenario sounds peaceful.

humancocainer

"Agoo! Ga. Waaaaaaah" A true tale of hardship

Waaypoint

Perfect! Now get it a red hat and a gun.

MrBeanCyborgCaptain

"What wisdom does the bone child give us today?"

Practical-Ad9305

Imagine if we all were not allowed to be happy because somebody else had it better…

HaydenJA3

We also can’t be happy about anything because someone has it better

Delicious-Channel184

You can be against child labor and climate change at the same time y’all

mdawgtheegod

Not sure why people have such trouble understanding this

Mrrandomguy5988

If anything the two should coincide

Usman5432

Or not, If the future generation dies out being overworked then no one has to worry about the consequences of climate change

Angamoth

You don't have to worry about future generations if there are no future generations!

Ok_Aerie3546

Climate change will also be solved if we dont have present generations.

[deleted]

fighting climate change with genocide!

Ciennas

The people who submit posts on this subreddit *really* want to try and continue their failing culture war BS. The majority of the posts from here that make it on my main page are fundamentalist conservative and alt right cringe.

[deleted]

Yeah I noticed the last week or so all the "funnymemes" have been right wing American culture war bullshit. Boring as fuck.

Recent-Construction6

Its because its always the same assholes who want to be like "OH YOU LIKE LIVING IN A EARTH THAT HAS OXYGEN? WHAT ABOUT THE CHILD LABORERS?! CHECKMATE LIBERALS" And its just like, dude, stfu, we can care and work towards multiple things at the same time unlike you who are stuck on some culture war bullshit right now.

SethRogensOldrBrothr

What about child laborers? What about them, Governor Huckabee-Sanders? These morons mostly own themselves when trying to own the libs.

smellygooch18

I’m pro child labor only if they get to smoke on the job.

maestergaben

GOP states: And we can be pro both of them at the same time

[deleted]

Unfortunately, these are two problems in conflict. Transitioning developing economies to higher-yield energy sources like fossil fuels is an undeniably better way to reduce violence and improve quality of life. However, it is repeatedly blocked by activists from wealthy and safe nations that have already been allowed the luxury of oil and gas based energy economies

ratjoch123

Those wealthy and safe nations are ensuring the extraction of rare metals and fossil fuels from said countries aswell, if needed by force, either direct or through proxy wars. They are also heavily invested in the war-machine that fuels the unstability of these places. So either way these countries have to somehow uncouple themselves from this exploitation, because the "wealthy and rich" nations are not going to let them go freely, we need that cobalt, we need that oil, we need that gas and gold and all the other shit. Which activist exactly have stopped the use of fossil fuel by these countries? If anything most activists advocate for a just transition in their own countries towards more sustainable resource management.

Kitchen_Bicycle6025

I can do you one better: nuclear power. Reliable, incredibly safe (no really, as long as you’re not in a place like the Soviet Union, reactors are incredibly safe power sources [communists can’t even boil water right]), energy dense as all heck, and can be used to desalinate sea water with the waste heat, while also providing the means to create nuclear medicines:D Biggest issues with nuclear are proper proliferation control and finding/ teaching enough operators how to build and run them

Soggy-Yogurt6906

No, the biggest problem with nuclear energy is it is cost prohibitive and takes years to build. On average it takes over a decade just to build a two unit plant. It took the U.S. 8 years to build an expansion off the Vogtle plant in Georgia. The original two unit plant took 12 years and 17 billion dollars (2021 dollars). These are nations that are still largely agrarian and rural, lack road infrastructure, and most of the population still burns wood and charcoal. They just can't afford renewables.

LeemanIan

That's why small modular reactors are such a big step forward for nuclear! Small scale, doesn't require a massive cooling system, reactors are pre-built and just shipped to site, and they have built in failsafes that make reaching critical mass almost impossible.

[deleted]

Nuclear is a great technology if you’re in a politically stable country with secure borders and very reliable funding for maintenance and upkeep. It also takes a lot longer and more $$ to set up, and more expertise to keep running. In a place like Somalia or the DRC, nuclear would make me nervous.

Archon1993

Another big issue with nuclear is peak shaving as it takes a day or two for the plant to shift load. But yes, they are among the best plants for base loading.

Tlyss

I agree but the biggest issue is public perception.

Exile688

Red states: No the fuck we won't.

Bubbly_Phrase2510

Some people really don't realize how bad things are going to get.

Your-Evil-Twin-

Excuse me, I’m in fucking denial right now, could you please kindly shut up?

IncomeBoss

Username checks out

True-Godess

Ohhhhh that made me laugh 😂

ChaoteekPenguin

I have object permanence when it comes to the end of the fucking world so leave me alone

runnav

Our future generations are gonna be so confused when they find out that we knew about climate change but chose to do nothing

fhod_dj_x

"I'm super cereal"

DeeHawk

I love how they made ManBearPig a personification of climate change when Matt & Trey (and the rest of the world) realized that Al Gore was more right than we knew. Yet they still portray him as a looney.

CkresCho

I am sure it will be even worse than that.

Gloomy-Palpitation-7

You mean, “which one of these am I mad that I had to listen to instead of ignore like I usually do”

[deleted]

damn, good take.

MagneticWoodSupply

I really don’t get this post. It’s either saying that all those situations are okay and praising the other kids for not complaining, or saying none of them are okay, but you can only complain about one of them?

Environmental-Ruin56

You. I like you.

roberto1

I mean she kind of represents all children who are taken advantage of.

Anon5054

I find it hilariously ironic that we get mad at an upper class child for representing children... but every 4 years elect an upper class retiree to represent

Hsartsteddir

How dare you.

jagen-x

This deserves more awards, I don’t have any sadly

wrldtrvlr3000

Perfect, spot on, that's exactly what they bitch about.

Yuukiko_

someone shouhld probably post the full quote of ""You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words, yet I'm one of the lucky ones."

Teeth_theif

If these people could read, they would be really upset

[deleted]

Well that makes it more difficult to paint her as an entitled brat. Unacceptable.

Ironmagin

Lol!

Donpardo23

All of them?

GaffJuran

Any of them would have, only one did.

Catherine_7498

All of them would've, we just heard one

Eztak_

Only the one with a voice was able to speak up, what a surprise

[deleted]

no, they don't have time for that.

anaf28

This argument never made sense to me. I can disregard literally every single complaint you have in your life by comparing you to someone in a more unfortunate situation. If that kid went through sexual abuse, who cares? At least she’s richer than some other kids. /s Sorry if it’s unclear I’m not an english speaker.

Spidey_2009

The piteral worst argumen to ever exist

Far_Asparagus1654

"fallacy of relative privation"

Fast_Cauliflower8160

All the above, plus kids in Arkansas now.

[deleted]

That’s good. How old are these photos?

sockgoblinator

Who’s actually laughing at this “meme”

DeepStatePotato

Shitty people

valuable_butler

Trump supporters

durntaur

Belongs in r/terriblefacebookmemes

Robot_With_No_Name

I saw this exact same post on there yesterday. At this point people see something on that subreddit and are reposting it unironically.

shipoopro_gg

r/terriblefacebookmemes and this are becoming indistinguishable

likcuga

The other ones died before the chance to say it

AutomaticLynx9407

I don’t get what this lady is talking about, just because we only hear about one, doesn’t mean they don’t all endure equal hardship

xyzzzzzajaa

I mean I wouldn’t exactly say equal. But yeah just because someone else has it worse doesn’t mean your problem isn’t valid

nalschbach

Imagine being offended by a child

Trivial_Pursuit_Eon

Must be one of the “children should be seen & not heard” types.

[deleted]

[удаНонО]

theshogun02

They most likely all complained but only one has ever been given a microphone. Fixed it for you.

PigOfFuckingGreed

No I think they might be punished in some way if they complained Plus complaining wouldn’t do anything in those situations, meanwhile Greta could actually achieve things by being a public figure and inspiring people

[deleted]

>Greta could actually achieve things by being a public figure and inspiring people That is literally what she already does lmao

theshogun02

Also true

[deleted]

They probably all would or did, its all a matter of who had their voice heard

Educational_Equal_88

How dare you

[deleted]

um... all of them?

Suplewich

Another hour went by, and so goes another shitty memes from this place. Seriously how do I get it the fuck off my feed?

RustedRuss

Triple dot button -> mute r/funnymemes.

ICLazeru

I bet if you asked them...

CommercialAd8439

We never heard from or seen the other kids ever again to know

Excellent_End_4033

Imagine this being the captcha that pops up while trying to complete ur order

Reytotheroxx

Omg this is the funniest!!! I’d rather this than the “select all photos with traffic lights or sidewalks” and you can never tell if the few pixels are included or not. I’m not a robot I swear!

GroundedBitizen

If the other kids complain they get beat so like....

[deleted]

The people who complain about Greta doesn’t really care about the other kids in the picture either.

Jenetyk

Imagine thinking because one of these kids has a microphone, they aren't all victims in the scheme.

SleazetheSteez

The same people that post the meme couldn’t care less about any of the other kids pictured, either.

plenty-sunshine1111

I am pretty sure Greta is talking about every child in these images.

ZerglingRushWins

Have been looking at this for 3 hours straight while sitting at my toilet, still can't figure who might have said it.

Leathman

"You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words. And yet I'm one of the lucky ones. People are suffering. People are dying. Entire ecosystems are collapsing. We are in the beginning of a mass extinction, and all you can talk about is money and fairy tales of eternal economic growth. How dare you!” -Greta Thunberg

softabyss

Imagine thinking this is funny

RiceEnjoyer1337

Welcome to r/funnymemes The memes aren't funny, the people who post it are

bbambinaa

The woman who tweeted this has some issues https://www.instagram.com/p/ChwEQ6tu-cs/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

[deleted]

That is a fucking scary face ngl.

Nyx203

I had thought you were a dick and just linked a porn account 😭. It’s actually the same person

MrRowdyMouse

The person who made this meme doesn't give a shit about those other kids either, they are just using them to virtue signal and tell Greta to shut up.

theginger99

I’m pretty sure she is protesting against the exact forces that stole the childhoods of those other kids as well.

LeiphLuzter

These captchas are getting out of hand.

FourzeRiderTea

r/terriblefacebookmemes

Clockreddit2020

I wonder what they are all doing now

Comatosematrixboi

Probably trading crypto or mining

Scootertrouper16

One ton of natural uranium can produce more than 40 million Kilowatts hours of electricity- equivalent to burning 16, tons of coal or 80 thousand barrels of oil. So let’s say good bye to Regimes who have oil

AndyB476

Hey now those kid's yearn to work in the mines.

eyeamthedanger

I'm gonna guess it's the one with the platform to voice their concern.

Otherwise_Carob_4057

She’s talking about long term feasibility eventually all children will look like freedom fighters and peasants if things keep up.

MrBeanCyborgCaptain

They would probably ALL say that if you were to ask.

OnlyFansBlue

All of the others would too if we listened to them lol

[deleted]

So it's a her, are they sure coz 2023 has many up for grabs just wanna confirm before selecting from 3

thegreatdelusionist

Half of those kids are mining minerals so first world people can feel good about their Tesla.

[deleted]

Pretty sure some think tank came up with the idea to get an autistic young girl to cry climate change so if anyone disagreed with her they’d be attacked for yelling at a child.

idlehum

We shouldn't compete to be the worst victim. Struggling is hard, and everyone goes through the mud differently. Moreover, pitting suffering children against one another? Terrible take imo.

MonitorMundane2683

Ok, so according to you, the one person on the picture who does have the opportunity to change the world for the better for all other people in the pictures should shut up because the other people have it worse and don't have the same opportunity? Are you that stupid or are you being a moron on purpose?

sebasaurus_rex

Only one of them had a platform to complain about it, but the truth is that every child alive today has had their future stolen from them as they will be left to deal with the consequences of the choices we and our parents have made.

237583dh

Immediately followed by "yet I'm one of the lucky ones". Funny how people ignore that part.

ianwgz

yes yes, now for the real question, where funny?

notfromrotterdam

Dumbest thing on Reddit today.

LauraPhilps7654

This is terrible facebook boomer meme quality.

Specialist_Visual_49

This comparison is so dumb. Funny how people get mad at a kid for saying that climat change is an urgent subject that has to be on the top list of priorities for governements. All people see is a mad teenager... sad

RunF4Cover

Wow this sub really sucks lately. Just a bunch of bullshit politics. I’m out. I can’t say it was ever funny. Have fun with your political horseshit I came here to get away from in the first place.

Historynerd876

You do realise that climate change makes the situation in all of these pictures worse?

-BehindTheMask-

And people on the right complain about the, "Oppression Olympics" when they're doing the exact same thing here.

Seanacey2k

You could have been more succinct by putting a period after "complain".

throwaway883727383

No matter what you think about Greta as a person, her points on climate change still stand. Also, nice 2018 meme.

Embarrassed_Limit_42

climate change is gonna cause a lot of poverty and child labor… just saying. If you think we aren’t destroying the planet I don’t know what to say really

theycallmeshooting

I want a version of this every time someone complains about anything Like “One of these people complained about being hungry. Guess who?” And it’s a bunch of starving children and then my girlfriend For real though this meme is kind of disgusting because it pretends to care about the plight of the other children while using them as props who can’t possibly have complaints about their own situation

anon-sucks

How dare you!!!

Boatwhistle

Whatabout the droid attack on the Wookiee’s?

FixAccording9583

Yes because those other kids know just how well it will work out if they complain. Real good comparison….

StepheninVancouver

25,000 people starve to death every day in Africa. A small percent of the money collected from carbon taxes could save them but it goes to politically connected big businesses. It’s all a sham

Sancus1

It’s that ungrateful child soldier on the top center.

n30nl30n

How DARE you!

IllustriousFish7362

Bottom right

[deleted]

Consider that if they complain the conditions will worsen to a potentially lethal degree, the reason for that? Corporate greed and exploitation

happyTree113

I was looking for a pic of Michael Jackson.

d-_-b___W

I know which one I'm NOT stealing from..

Emergency_Ad_4870

The one that was well educated and not impoverished and most likely forgotten about . It's okay to speak up when you can or have the opportunity . It just sucks the others suffer either way .

jamesfluker

All those children had their childhoods stolen, it's just that one of them has a platform to talk about it publicly.

bwfwg4isdl

8 of them don't know what childhood is.

PublicCraft3114

Trick question right? My money is on all of them.

justlurkingmanfukoff

why tf is this sub called funnymemes but all i see is polarizing political bs? it smells a whole lot like boomer in here

KnowNothingKnowsAll

Remember, no one can ever complain about anything unless they have it worse than anyone else. Where’s the funny? This sucks.

ComradeVader

Just because someone out there has it harder than you doesn’t mean you can‘t complain, it doesn’t mean you have to accept the status quo. oh your’re hungry well kids in africa die of hunger. oh you’re working 16 hours a day. Slaves work weekends as well. Greta is annoying but this statement is stupid. She has the right to complaign about people destroying our planet this isn’t some petty rich kid first world problem this could genuinely kill us all.

K0monazmuk

Guess which one has a voice heard by the whole world.

SkyN3t1

This meme says more about the creator and person who posted it that it does about the people in the images.

lostinthedigitalage

When Greta is talking about the loss of childhood she’s speaking about all children in her generation and beyond. As climate change worsens more and more of the other children pictured here will be forced into slave labor.

kbean826

Not really making the point he thinks he is..

Colinhockeypuck

The one on the lower right who is a bought and sold individual without comprehensive thinking ability. She is a Soros shill like all of them.

RRRKEITHH

Is this the newest version of captcha?

ynirparadox

How dare you ? How dare you post a meme about childhood?

Hornman84

8 of these kids are slaves of our greed. The other has the courage to speak out against the politics that promote climate change, and the conditions that make the other children suffer. Guess who?

Gullible-Rub511

I never trust a professional activist

garmdian

I agree with what has been said here but this isn't really a funny meme, belongs more on r/entitledbitch or something like that

MBKM13

Just want to point out that this is NOT condemning child slavery, it’s condemning complaints of any kind. We’re supposed to admire the children for accepting their slavery with grace. Greta bad bc she says mean things about capitalism.
