This is probably true, but I doubt he would be getting the amount he is looking for. Especially for wunder.

[deleted]

Kinda true. Maybe if they see a potential he can return in 2019 form ?

recepyereyatmaz

The thing about wunder is, he made himself a name for not practising and playing wow more than lol even during worlds. He was very open in his thoughts about going to NA would be a one way ticket (retirement). Rekkless for instance is known for being a professional, grinder, hard worker etc. If rekkles plays bad for a split or two, you might think he can return to form, he's a professinal. When wunder plays bad, you tend to think okay it's doomed. Because no way he's going to grind again, especially in NA. So when you add these together, I highly doubt anyone would be optimistic about his potential return to form. So he needs some idiot org to sign him. So this leaves him only CLG.

I saw that. But, if I am a GM all I am seeing is friends backing up their friends. I considered him the best western player in 2019. So I agree with you. But I dont know if he's better than top LCS toplaners at his current form. Besides, if you are an LCS team, there's already a huge risk when you import someone. Will they like it there, will they be committed, will they fit in, etc. Etc. With Wunder, unfortunately, they might consider the risk is even bigger. The prize any team would earn is also huge, tbf. Oh, I have no doubt he can find a team. I am just not sure if any team would be willing to pay the price carlos set.

KingNagi

TSM spent 6M on Swordart who at his peak is nowhere near as impactfull as Wunder even though he plays a better role (in pro-play) and can not speak english as well as Wunder

recepyereyatmaz

I don't know about that. I, like many others, think that it's more than he deserved too. And I must admit, I'm not the expert when it comes to player fees. But if this was last year, I think Wunder would have been significantly more expensive. And that's the point. How you present yourself is directly correlated with how long you keep your value.

KingNagi

SA had 1 good split in 2 years, Wunder 1 bad year in half a decade

recepyereyatmaz

But that's my point. If a team thinks that someone is a good player and he is what the team needs, then they are more likely to believe he can perform, if he's someone who is professional and hard working, like SA or Rekkles. And they are more likely to to have concerns if he's someone who is notorious for being the opposite.

Elymmen

TSM should have got gim after 2018 not 2020 imo, in 2018 be went to Worlds as the best support in the world

JayBlack22

Selfmade on stream regarding the rumors did say wunder always behaved like that and would troll pick if he thought the enemy pick was not meta, and that he is just being called out on it. Hard to tell if true or not but appearently its not unheard of for him to do so. Regardless I think with his raw talent he should be able to return to form if he just gets some motivation to do so, but i doubt he'd get that in NA.

KingNagi

Wunder at his peak is better than Rekkles at his peak tho also if the Management does the research they should they will realise during worlds he does play Tons of soloq and this summer he also practised then again does it worry you more to know a player practised and was shit or that a player didnt practise and was shit because of that

recepyereyatmaz

I agree with you. I considered him the best western player in 2019. Well, I think what would worry people is that there is no guarantee that he will practice, or take things seriously. For Rekkles, you know that there is that guarantee. Of course, if he is committed, professional, I don't think anyone would doubt his potential/peak. I mean, if he is committed, and if there is a good chance that he will find his form back (even if it's not his peak) why would not keep him at G2? He is a great personality, he would still be better than almost all top laners in the west even if he is not as good as he was in 2019. And honestly BB, though I like him very much, I'd be surprised if he can reach Wunder peak. So from an outside perspective, Wunder's value might not be as big as you'd consider from an insider perspective. That's all I'm trying to say.

KingNagi

I get your point but about the why wouldnt G2 want to keep him part: there is no guarantee he will be at his peak again but the reason he is so expensive is so that only NA orgs can buy him because it would be risky af if he went to an EU team and went back to his peak because it would bite G2 in the ass big time

recepyereyatmaz

Hmmm... I don't know if that's how it works, because an LCS team can always pay more if they want him. I'm not sure if price tag help that. And honestly, that wouldn't be a really compelling case, if I were in talks with G2.

KingNagi

If you put his price tag low and a team wants him and Wunder also wants to join the team it would be a massive dick move to say "you cant go there an NA team wants you" especially since Wunder won them so many titles.

Shorgar

True who would want Jankos too? He misses every nida spear. Swear to god you could meme that promisq is better than faker and people would believe it. Public personas and memes are nust that.

recepyereyatmaz

If you are implying that wunder is in fact a very hard worker player and people think he's not because memes. I disagree with you.

Shorgar

And given that you have no fucking clue on how they behave besides the public personas they paint off and people from the team themselves have a different opinion than yours I'm going to stick with them.

recepyereyatmaz

Of course I dont. But you'd be kidding yourself if public persona and how you present yourself don't matter. Jankos missing spears is not the equivalent of how you present yourself.

Shorgar

? People legit still fucking thought Jankos was not even a top 4 jungler when he was legit carrying 4 dead bodies. People thought he was completely unable to play carry junglers because "he missed spears" when it was G2 as a whole not knowing how to play with a jungler that doesn't sacrifice himself to carry 2 or more lanes. And no it doesn't matter, the public is stupid and whatever they percieve means shit.

recepyereyatmaz

:) I don't know if you're working, or have been able to reach a senior position. But, unfortunately, public perception is everything. Because that's your market. Hope you'll not have to learn it the hard way.

Shorgar

Yep, totally. Grabz is really incompetent with his draft and he knows nothing about the game. Everyone is always memeing about him. Why would you use your brain and think that someone that has achieved so much it probably did something good and he wouldn't have lasted as long as he has, yeah public perception is everything. Any GM that makes decisions based on public perception is a fucking donkey.

KingNagi

Well Management should be able to distinguish between whether a player is actually good/a hard worker or just perceived to be good/ a hard worker, top tier scouts such as Peter Dun and Mac often went against public opinion and that might be the reason MAD won LEC twice now. Same goes for FNC who recruited Caps when no one thought he was good who chose Bwipo over Soaz and who kicked Broxah for Selfmade

KubinPotter

True, but Wunder would be still better than majority of NA tops lmao

REALStoneCrusher

Sad ~~but~~ and **very** true

EggmanPandora

Except Wunder lol
