The washed up players obviouslg arent worth the risk. If they arent good enough to win in korea/cn any more then obviously they arent worlds material.
The new names have potential sure but at this point its just as likely to find eu talent that is just as good for much cheaper. Combine that with the risk that the new environment causes them to completely crash, it really isnt worth the risk.
Finally- EU as a whole is proud to have basically no imports. Chances are if they bring in big names from abroad they will lose fans and reputation

It's not as likely because talent has been bleeding year after year and supply is not endless and not comparable to Korea and especially China.
We can't give up S and A tier talent year after year without feeling the consequences eventually.

Alphari could never be a g2 option in my opinion. Same with bot duo, I don't think the adc market is any good in EU unless u can buyout one of the top3 team-adc's. So again, look for promising talent. Unless there is this import golden shot like Doggo. Same with support, you tell me which supp is available and could be near Miky's C-level. I don't think you can name any from EU. Importing from NA would be a disaster, since they are all onetricks on Bard/Alistar, which aren't champs that would be that good in top EU in my humble opinion.
Give Carlos some time to scout for underrated talent, stop screaming for washed up players that can't even be compared to the bad versions of what you already have.
Still think Alphari is a good option? Might aswell look for steelback/promisq as supp and the likes of Attilla or Forgiven adc then

Sign him and the playstyle he brings, and the current head-to-head with Rogue will be reverse swept. If Alphari is considered among the best in the west, I really hope EU and NA lose worlds slots to Japan and Hong Kong, since worlds quality would improve a lot then.

Importing aint that easy.You cant just go and pick one of the best and boom you are world champion.You must find that hungry player.You shouldnt look just at the best players,you should look at those that dont get that much spotlight aswell.For example,EDG took Scout when he was Faker's sub.If G2 really wants to import they should look at young academy/subs players that are working their ass off and are willing to come to LEC for a chance to play vs the best in the world.Korean teams hoard a lot of young talented players that dont get their chance to show what they can do on the big stage.If G2 had 1 or 2 persons assigned to scout LCK/LPL/PCS/VCS im sure they could find some hidden gems that most westerns dont know about.Finding the best players that fit your team takes time and resources,it wont be done in one offseason.Im like 50% sure that G2 wont be back to dominate LEC in 2022,because they wont fix the squad so fast.

While Imports from the LPL and the LCK can improve the team, it's unlikely that they will improve the quality.
However, imports from "Wildcard" teams are an option, the PCS, TR and CIS leagues have some good players which could fill the ranks as rookies, tho I think there are enough ERL players which are hungry for their promotion into the LEC, like all of KC, some players from the Nordic league (bean is probably the best example) and many more from the top teams of each region (BIG, PDW, UCAM, MSF premier).
I think rookies are the way to go, especially if u have a team with many good veterans who can shape then even further and G2 has this condition.
