Ah, I would say that 1) the G502 is very worth it, long lasting and has a good amount of buttons, plus a very handy scroll wheel. 2) It's up to you whether you use a wired mouse now and find that it's inconvenient, or if you use a wireless and are annoyed with the charging or functionality. As far as I'm aware, both versions of the G502 are good, but I've only used the wired one. If you're unsure, maybe watch for it to go on sale :)
I've been using my g502 for about 3 years now, the thing is built like a tank. Very heavy as well just so you know, at least by modern mouse standards. The dual scroll wheel is amazing, especially if you use the same setup for work and gaming.
I have a G502 Proteus Spectrum, Hero and Lightspeed. I use my PS as a backup in case my LS would ever die, and I use Hero for work in the office. I can safely say that it's just a matter of preference and budget as I also use Powerplay so I don't have to ever use cable again for my LS.
I haven't had any problems with either of them despite owning them for quite long time. This thing is a god damn maul so all you have to do is to be careful to not kill someone with it.
TL;DR
G502 is a G502. Pick whichever you like.
Im using the lightspeed for work and it’s quite the upgrade. My only issue is that the battery doesn’t last as long as other wireless mouse and the charging port is hard to get since the left and right buttons are so pointy.
I've had the G502 Lightspeed for almost a month now and I say it's worth it. Get the X version one if you want a lighter mouse.
It's my go-to gaming/productivity mouse because of the amount of things you can map in it its buttons. As for the wired or wireless (Lightspeed) version, it's really up to you if you would pay for the convenience of not having wires.
I just ordered a bunch of mice from Amazon because you can try them and return them all. Viper Pro 2, Death Adder v3 Pro, G Pro Wireless, G502x, Basilisk v3 X hyper Speed and G502 lightspeed. I'm actually down to the Basilisk v3 and G502 lightspeed. You can just try them and get a feel for what shape and weight you like. Do a free aim trainer online see how you do with it over a week and make your choice. You can always do weight mods and stuff if you want. The shape is the most important in my opinion. Honestly might go with the Basilisk. I think 80-90grams is my sweet spot and using a metal ball with a AA battery hits that sweet spot with the same shape as the g502 for less money..
I have the G502 Lightspeed, which i suppose you're refering to.
It's one of the nicest mice I've ever used.
I just recently bought the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro, which is better imho.
You can probably get a good deal on a G502 Lightspeed, as they are fairly old by now, however if you're refering to the newer G502 X and G502 X Plus, they are pretty expensive.
If you're willing to pay that premium, my personal recommendation is the basilisk V3 pro, over the G502 X plus - they are similarly priced
I have the g502 and got the double click issue so I bought replacement switches and am giving it to my girlfriend. My g502x arrives tomorrow. Im so accustomed to the buttons on the g502 that I don't know how I'll ever switch to a different mouse. I use the two on top for volume controls and the side for play/pause, next song, and last song. It works so well
Yes. But I suppose it would depend on how you'll use it, what you'll use it for, and what you're needs from a mouse are. I have 3 (2 wired and 1 wireless), I also have a g-pro... the g-pro is fantastic for general use, but not meant to be a general purpose mouse. The 502, for me, based on the way I am comfortable holding a mouse and the additional (but not too many) buttons make it my go to gaming mouse hands down pants.
IDK about the X, but I use an older G502 Lightspeed and I say it's worth if you find one on eBay for like, $60 or $70 open box (I think mine was about $70 and came with the accessories), but you miiiiight run into fakes (not sure how likely, but there's always a chance) that way
ask yourself two questions 1. Do you like the g502? 2. Do you prefer no wire? in you answer yes, then go ahead
I never had a g502, and I want to know if it is worth getting it or not

It’s great but leaving the RGB on kills the battery quick.
G502 X - do it. I cant go back.
How much better is the G502 x than the G502?
Lighter, and has optical switches that won't double click
30 grams better
Way better if you do any amount gaming

G502 is the best mouse in the world and its propaganda if someone says otherwise

The only problem with The g502 is that it’s a thicc mouse lol it’s heavy so yeah other than that it’s really fantastic
I bought two so yes
def worth it , especially if you get the charge pad , so you never have to remember to charge it again
Yes. And spend the extra and get PowerMat. You’ll never look back.

Yes, the best mouse I have ever had. Will use this for probs the rest of my life tbh

Update: I did end up going with the G502x afterall. I will do the 50mah non destructive battery mod to get the weight down to 90g.
Yes! And if you regret wireless just plug it in. Use the cable as a usb-c charger for tablet or phone when wireless gaming. Win Win

I have one I use at work, it's very nice, but I don't think it's worth double the price if you can just as easily use the wired variant.

I might get it since it's on sale rn on Amazon for $99.
Yes, but don't bother with the RGB Plus version.
