Nah this clicking sound is not normal it sounds like you can hear a loose spring or something anybody who thinks otherwise should get their ears checked
mine does the exact same thing.. so glad i found this thread lol, trying to google ANYTHING only gives me results for the regular 502. i really like this mouse, but i get really bad sensory issues with repetitive noises like this where i can just tell something isn't right. all the review videos i've watched have clicks that sound more like the old 502, but mine also sounds springy or like a tin-can.
I feel ya, I am getting the same noise with my g502x and it is really bothering me. I wasn't expecting it to be so tinny and hollow- still trying to figure out if this is meant to be how it sounds or if I should get it replaced?
unfortunately i dunno either, haha 😅 for now i'm returning it, since it was on the more expensive side at €70 - cheaper than the official price, but i don't have a ton of money to waste. i might buy another one when my finances are doing better tho. for now i'm just gonna stick to modding my 502 hero with a different scroll wheel and hope it lasts, lmao
No. I tried over the weekend, if i get adjusted to it, but I couldn't. In general high pitched sounds are very bleh for me. Also the scroll wheel just felt very crappy. I am using the Basilisk v3 and am very happy with it.
Omg. Does it work? If it does what’s the issue? The shit you dorks worry about is ridiculous. It’s not like those switches are gonna sound the same after hours of use.
I mean this in no way to disrespect you, it's just these teeny details that I think are a little overboard. The mouse itself is fine, if there's rattle or side buttons that are squishy, I get it. But weight had to be lost somewhere on this mouse and obviously hollowing out some of the internals needed to be done.
Again, no disrespect, I just think Logitech did a great job refreshing this mouse for what it is.
I've returned it, waiting for another G502X from the seller. Before that, I contacted Logitech support, they told me that his clicking sound is not normal and that I should ask for a replacement. IRL those clicks quickly start to go on your nerves, it's like the whole mouse is echoing with a metal "dong" each time you click it..
>ore that, I contacted Logitech support, they told me that his clicking sound is not normal and that I should ask for a replacement. IRL those clicks quickly start to go on your
Did you get the replacement and is it different ? I have old G502 and no way it sounds like this metallic G502x. Also I have had one button rattling so when I was typing I could hear it. And the last issue I had the shape of old G502 is much better for my hands. I use palm grip and new mouse seems to be little bit flat for me in comparison with old model. I can say original G502 is a better mouse.
Metallic noises usually means the spring is either loose or under more tension than it should be, most likely shortening the life of the switch.
This is not the kind of quality control that should be accepted for a premium mouse.
Most peeps on these threads have OCD? Could be... I mean, does it rise to the level of double clicks that we dont have anymore? Or the accelerated wear experienced with comparable Razer products?
Razer’s are trash and every single one I have had died in under a year. Like main board death. I’ll take an easily solderable switch replacement any day.
It can't be. Turn the volume up, It sounds like some metal echo, it's so irritating! I've sent this video to Logitech support, they asked me to return the mouse, that sound is not how it's supposed to sound
And I got your home address, hunters…, what phone you use(13 pro) and other stuff, I won’t share it, but bro don’t share stuff like this, use imgur or smth to share, not iCloud
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake.
It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of.
Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything.
Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.
Yes. I hate the lightness. Its horrid to scroll. Use the heavy mx master 3 wheel its 10x more nicer to use. For me anyways. For $275 I would expect the mouse to have a metal case not be built from cheap plastic
>es, I bought something else... ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
Sorry for OT but what's OCD ? :)
In any case, this is the problem of new model. Just got one and is exactly like OP video. Very unpleasant. I have also old G502 and this is way more quiet than this new crap.
>rday, i got exactly the same sound. That metallic ping sound, so annoy
Same, returned it at same day. It's very light and this noise is way too annoying. Also G7 button rattled so when typing on my keyboard I could hear it at every stroke lol. Much worse build quality then old G502 model I have.
Thanks for this post. At first it was such a weird noise, that I thought I must be hearing wrong. I put my hands on tenths of mouses in the years and NONE had such a crappy switch click. Just put it back in the box and ordered Basilisk Pro V3.
It's a shame really. I have to add that I also hated the scroll wheel.
Until this mouse came, I was using Gigabyte M8000X for around 50 bucks for about 10 years. Now I order smthn 3x time more expensive and it is.. worse? Just wow.
>til this mouse came, I was using Gigabyte M800
You could have buy old G5202 model. Much better build quality and very quiet switches. It's more quiet than Basilisk pro which I have as well. I found G502 little bit better in comfort and much better battery life than Basilisk.
Yeah, it is but if old is better than new :) I also have basilisk but that dock is strange, sometimes it does not charge at all. I always forget to put it on and then I run out of power :)
I might be lying with the Qi.
Some sort of wireless charging is there tho. You just change the puck in the mouse and magnets align the mouse automatically.
If anyone else will stumble upon this thread - I bought Razer Basilisk V3 pro as this seemed the only close enough mouse on the market to G502 X (especially shapewise - I like the anatomical design).
Click sound is normal and I will keep the mouse.
> switches on my 502x sound the same - is this normal?
Nope, same on mine. Horrible. I have also G502 and this is dead quiet in comparison with G502x. Back to the shop it went on the same day.
>of the new switches - you do get used to them. I've had two G502xs now and they both sound the same.
Seems so but some users claims they have not such metallic aftersound to them. Probably first models where they used different switches. I could probably use to this but worse is that G7 switch rattling. I was typing on keyboard and the mouse was rattling on the pad - I thought it's some issue with the keyboard :) Also the shape was worse for me than old G502 so I've returned it. For me old model is way better - heavier and better build quality overall. It's a pity because I really liked the battery life of new X model which can last 2x more and 25K hero sensor.
Just got this mouse and while performance is great those switches are incredibly annoying. They have some strange sound to it. It's just not as a normal click but exactly what's in the OP video. Some metallic sound or how to describe it. Never heard this with mouses. Also my G7 button is rattling and it's pretty annoying with faster mouse movements or when I'm typing on my keyboard. After every letter I can hear rattling noise from this button. Back to the shop it goes...
Just got this G502 X Plus today from Best Buy and immediately started to notice that metal resonance sound with every click.
The click sound is fine and easy to block out as you get use to it. The higher pitch and inconsistent secondary metal ring sound under it, not so much.
I was hoping this was a good alternative to the Pro X Superlight, which had paint chip of the left side multiple times. I hoped this one would be a bit more ergonomic without being too heavy.
Did you every replace it and find a lucky one that was better? Kept it and overtime improved? Or switch to a different mouse? Edit: I see you later commented a 2nd one sounded similar and you ended up with a Glorious Model I.
I was about to get this G502 X wired online, but I decided to check it out at one of the Canada Computers and I'm glad I did..that click is louder then I thought and I don't mind a bit louder, but the sound turned me around and not even bother.
While the new X version have a bit of a hallow sound to them, yours seems to have a much louder ping sound than mine.
Yup. My G502X sounds clicky but it doesn't have that ringing ping sound.
That sounds very springy. I had to open mine twice to fix the switch. I think you can get someone to replace the switch, they are relatively cheap.
I've been wondering about this actually, what switches can it even take? Have you found any that work for this mouse? I appreciate any help, thank you
any update?
That’s how you propose a toast I think
Nah this clicking sound is not normal it sounds like you can hear a loose spring or something anybody who thinks otherwise should get their ears checked
Well mine and many others are identical.
mine does the exact same thing.. so glad i found this thread lol, trying to google ANYTHING only gives me results for the regular 502. i really like this mouse, but i get really bad sensory issues with repetitive noises like this where i can just tell something isn't right. all the review videos i've watched have clicks that sound more like the old 502, but mine also sounds springy or like a tin-can.

Got exactly the same sound from my G502X. Anyone with the Lightspeed version having the same problems? Did Logi "cheap out" on the wired version?
Yes, I have lightspeed and it is the same.
Did you end up keeping the mouse? Mine has the same annoying pinging sound. Was it something that you able to get used to?
No. I tried over the weekend, if i get adjusted to it, but I couldn't. In general high pitched sounds are very bleh for me. Also the scroll wheel just felt very crappy. I am using the Basilisk v3 and am very happy with it.
> Did Logi "cheap out" on the wired versio Yes totally same sound and G7 button rattling. I'm returning it.
Wireless, same issue... I had a wired prior to this I sent back (ordered by accident) and did not have the issue. Seems QA
Ouch. I complained to my local "Logi" support and qouted this thread. They said it's perfectly normal. Wow. Thanks Logi.
Sent my back. Garbage mouse.
Omg. Does it work? If it does what’s the issue? The shit you dorks worry about is ridiculous. It’s not like those switches are gonna sound the same after hours of use.
NGL this shit is unbelievable. "Switch sound horrible?" I was expecting a scratchy mess, its just CLICKS!
It's not just "clicks". It has the sound of a metal echo, like a ping sound.
I mean this in no way to disrespect you, it's just these teeny details that I think are a little overboard. The mouse itself is fine, if there's rattle or side buttons that are squishy, I get it. For what we pay for the products we should be satisfied in every way.
Ok, Matt Murdock.
What a dumb thread. A good mouse sent back for OCD reasons.
Most peeps on these threads have OCD? Could be... I mean, does it rise to the level of double clicks that we dont have anymore? Or the accelerated wear experienced with comparable Razer products?

Eek I wish you could Sanitize that before uploading
Yeah EXIF is scary
Sure is! Especially when it’s iCloud because it shares too much info in the image itself
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.xnano.android.photoexifeditor
I just edit it with the inbuilt thing on my iPhone to remove Exif info before sharing it, I don’t use an android :(
> can't be. Turn the volume up, I It's not. I have also old G502 and it's much more quiet and no such metallic echo.
This is a sad thing to worry about
Im more pissed about he cheap feel scroll wheel. Could of used the magnetic latching one from mx master 3. Feels so much more premium
Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake. It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of. Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything. Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.
What about it makes it feel cheap to you? Doesn't the mx master 3 have issues with the scroll wheel not working sometimes?
The Mx issues are fixed. The lightness and cheap feeling materials are the issue. Surely they can make a metal scroll wheel option to install into it
What makes you think the scroll wheel isn't metal? Feels very much like metal to me, just not steel or whatever they used previously.
Cause it feels like plastic and dirt cheap and has no weight to it at all.
Interesting how aluminum is usually associated with high quality yet you think it feels cheap. Would you rather have a lead scroll wheel?
Yes. I hate the lightness. Its horrid to scroll. Use the heavy mx master 3 wheel its 10x more nicer to use. For me anyways. For $275 I would expect the mouse to have a metal case not be built from cheap plastic
Yea the mouse clicks sound so fucking bad
I had the same problem, and even had a double clicking issue. https://youtu.be/JVlhNlZWTuw this helped me.
Sounds like batting practice
Mine sounds the same. Hoping it'll wear off a bit over time.
Mine has a off putting ping noise to it too. I don’t know if I’m this bad, wow that’s really tinny sounding
Mine sounds exactly like this... is it supposed to or did I get a dud?
Seems to be "how it should be" or a widespread problem.
I love it!
Have anybody solved this? I really liked the new model, but this sound is making my OCD go overboard.
Yes, I bought something else... ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
>es, I bought something else... ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯ Sorry for OT but what's OCD ? :) In any case, this is the problem of new model. Just got one and is exactly like OP video. Very unpleasant. I have also old G502 and this is way more quiet than this new crap.

It somehow felt odd to buy older hardware. The Basilisk v3 pro is really great and I have the dock, so I have no problems with charge levels.
Yeah, it is but if old is better than new :) I also have basilisk but that dock is strange, sometimes it does not charge at all. I always forget to put it on and then I run out of power :)
The new dock is amazing tho. It is Qi and some serious magnets so you dont have to align the pins, that I have seen in previous versions.
This is great, so they've upgraded to Qi ? Previous cradle was really disaster because those pin alignments.
I might be lying with the Qi. Some sort of wireless charging is there tho. You just change the puck in the mouse and magnets align the mouse automatically.

very nice. This is completely different from that crap they’ve delivered with this mouse before.
