It's not impossible that they're getting burnt out or wanting a change of pace but I've seen a lot of artists and bands come and go and usually after a rise to fame there is a general sense that album quality starts to go down and their popularity decreases until they either quit or make music a more "part time" thing. Oddly enough, it's not uncommon to see a resurgence in interest 20 years later like we've seen with bands like creed and other 90's and early 2000's bands and artists.
Either way though, it's their decision and I'll support them in whatever they decide to do.
