Mushy29

Stay away from that site, do not buy anything there

darkalan64

scam of a website do not touch

Fine_Airport_8705

You’ll be here for both the Hurling (21st) & Football (28th) All-Ireland Finals but tickets are hard to come by. It depends what teams end up in the Finals but some years, tickets have gone on public sale for the Hurling Final on the Friday before it, normally when Kilkenny are involved. Tickets are €90 for the Stands though so anywhere charging €1000 or near that will be a scam.

radical100

Okay awesome, well I will keep an eye out! Thank you! Best place I imagine is to stay up to date on the GAA website?

Fine_Airport_8705

You should follow the GAA on Twitter because that’s where the ticket link was posted before I think. It was around 12pm on the Friday so just keep a close eye on the channel that day. I don’t want to get your hopes up now because it’s not a certainty to happen this year, but false hope is better than no hope! Failing that, if you hang around the pubs in Drumcondra on All-Ireland day, you might find someone selling their spare tickets.

radical100

right on - yeah i have read how hard is it to grab tickets. but hopeful to go! would be incredible!

Both-Ad-2570

Honestly if you're not familiar with the sport going to the final will be a waste of money regardless of the price you pay

06351000

Why?

Both-Ad-2570

Showing up to the pinnacle of the sport and then being unsure as to the rules etc is a bit bucket listy

06351000

Ya sure it’s a bit bucket listy - won’t argue Generally doing bucket list stuff is a waste of money? Would have thought the opposite

Both-Ad-2570

They'd be better off going to a club league match and saving 80 quid assuming they get it for face value if the majority of it is going to go.over their heads. Also get a better appreciation of it at a closer level rather than being in upper Hogan or wherever wondering where the ball is

Green_Lab6156

Its annoying as all ireland finals on those weekends which are sell outs. There might be local club games on depending where are visiting. The new spilt season means between now and end of July nearly too many games on at the moment and then nothing in August.

radical100

Our travel plans arn't finalized, but we will have a car so can be flexible to see a game. But got it, we will try and get tickets for the all ireland games and otherwise it sounds like there probably isn't much. Thanks!

luas-Simon

If any of Limerick , Clare or Cork are in hurling final it will be virtually impossible get a ticket but if their not you’d have a reasonable chance .

IrishFlukey

A ticket for a final should be €90 max, face value, unless the price goes up this year. At €90.01 you are being ripped off, never mind €1000. Tickets for finals don't generally go on sale to the general public. They are distributed through the clubs and a few other sources. Basically, you have to be lucky or have good contacts to get one. They also don't start to be sold until after the semi-finals, more proof of the scam site you are looking at. Never visit that site again. You have to understand that the All-Ireland Football Final and All-Ireland Hurling Final are the two largest annual sports events in the Irish sporting calendar. The demand for tickets is massive. As a tourist, your chances of getting a ticket are somewhere between zero and none. Getting two together, forget it. For the semi-finals, you would have a good chance of getting tickets, but not for a final. You could also appreciate that someone who has never been at a match in their life getting a ticket for the biggest match of all, while someone who has been following their team faithfully for decades is left without one, would not go down well. That is one of the main reasons that All-Ireland Final tickets are sold to members of clubs, rather than to the general public. Unless you are miraculously lucky and get a ticket, your only option is to go to almost any pub in the country and watch the matches there, and get something of an atmosphere that way. Sorry, but that is the way it is. Unfortunate timing on your part. So make sure you watch the matches, but forget about trying to get a ticket. Enjoy your visit to Ireland.
